The rooms were clean and comfortable , the pool is outside and nice.and they had treats for our little dog. Our hosts , Jody and John Holland were the very best. If you stay at this place and we highly recommend it , be sure to shake hands with Henry , he is a very friendly and outgoing person , Also Gladys went out of her way with a big smile and kind words. People like these make our trip more enjoyable.
Unbelievable price. $68 per night plus tax came to $74! Pool was sparkling...room was spotless and included fridge, micro, great TV channels, and easy to access internet.
The best part of this experience was the professional and friendly staffer at the resgistration desk. I have been traveling and staying in motels for eight nights. This was by far the best experience. I can't believe the room for this price.
I would love to stay here another night.
This place was amazing! My roomie and I were roadtripping with no particular destination and our wandering took us to Montrose just as we were getting too tired to drive. We stopped at an Econolodge to ask about rooms and were told their only available double bed was smoking for $80. We looked up other places in the area and decided to try this place because their room rate was a little cheaper and we are cheap. When we got there, it looked at first glance to be a seedy, cheap motel but as soon as we stepped in the lobby, that vanished.
The innkeeper was a lovely, kind woman who had a big smile and was willing to make some amazing deals for us so she could fill the hotel for the night. They had a fire last year and are still trying to recoup their losses. You would never know that from the fully finished new construction and impeccable service, though. She cut us a deal on a double-bed suite, making it affordable and we liked it so much we took it for two nights. It is immaculately clean, the suites are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable with full kitchens and spacious bathrooms. From what we saw of the other rooms, they are smaller in floorspace but comparable in quality. The beds were comfy, the decor was charming and organic, the pool was heated and their breakfast was decent for a continental spread.
All in all, if you find yourself near Montrose, CO, this place is excellent lodging for reasonable prices in comparison to their competition. It was so relaxing and welcoming, it felt like a little slice of home on the road!
I called Jodi at Affordable Inns about four months prior to our daughters wedding to hold rooms. They were very gracious and held all the rooms without taking any deposit. They were very patient with me calling numberous times to check on rooms etc. When we arrived all of our rooms were ready and All of the staff front desk, housekeeping, maintenance as well as Jodi the owner was very welcoming. We decended on this hotel in full force! The rooms were beautiful we stayed in the suite which was liking a home away from home. All of my family and wedding guests throughly enjoyed are stay and were sad to leave! Only suggestion I would have is for bigger bath towels other than that the experience was the BEST! We will definately stay here every time we go to see our daughter and new son in law! Thanks Affordable Inn of Montrose!
My roommate and I decided to head west from Golden with no particular destination. We rolled into Montrose around 9:30 on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Expecting the worst we asked around at a few hotels that were kind of scuzzy for the price. We found Affordable Inns with the help of Google and went over to see what they had. They offered us a suite at a very reduced rate (normal rate is just over $100 so not too bad) and we fell in love with our room. It was large, very clean, elegantly decorated and the beds were amazingly comfy. We ended up booking the room for a second night. The whole staff was wonderful, the property was quiet despite being on a rather busy road and we ended up getting the pool to ourselves for a bit which was a perk. I will be staying here again. The suites have a kitchen with a full size stove and refrigerator so that was also a huge bonus! There is a flat screen TV mounted on the wall so you can watch TV from the supremely comfy beds. The linens were really nice too, I thought that was a nice touch. The bedding was soft, not scratchy or itchy like normal hotel bedding.
The staff couldn't be more friendly, helpful, and comforting! The rooms were spotless, the beds were amazing, the pool was refreshing, and the lobby was GORGEOUS! I recommend staying here...GREAT RATES, TOO!! Overall a terrific experience. Thank you Affordable Inns staff and owner.
We had just finished a long day's drive over the mountains, on Route 50, and were exhausted. We drove past many chain hotels and motels, and none of them looked very quiet, let alone affordable.
We happened upon a humble-looking building; it had the right name to fit our needs, and we ventured into the lobby, which in my opinion was very nicely decorated, showing their customers that comfort is on their minds. We were greeted by a very cheerful young woman by the name of Coradith, who made us feel very welcome; she had a nice, casual attitude while remaining very professional and efficient, and she even recommended restaurants for us.
(I will add, however that if you are a vegetarian, as my husband and I are, the best restaurant in town for you is ASII, which is a mere quarter-mile North of the Inn, on the West side of the street, and is not mentioned by the staff at The Affordable Inns. We had to venture out to find something to fit our needs.)
Our room was a true delight! We had a first-storey room, with wooden beams on the ceiling, which made the room feel like a cozy cabin in the woods. On the front of each door are room-number plaques, and each appears to be hand-painted, and no two are the same. The beds were so comfortable, which was a welcome experience for us after our very long drive that day, and we were happy to discover that the traffic sounds of Townsend Avenue were non-existant (the heater, however, was rather loud, but it's not a total spoiler; the room was nice and warm that night).
If I ever find myself in that area again, I will make a beeline to The Affordable Inns in Montrose, and I will recommend it to any friends going through there!
