The journey to this high-end, mountain hideaway is the real meal highlight..
Visitors get to experience Vail at night while traveling up the Eagle Bahn gondola. Then they hop onto a waiting Sno-Cat and chug up a steep slope to the chalet-style restaurant. A four-course, prix-fixe meal centers on alpine-influenced, American-French cuisine. Imaginative starters include the mushroom "strudel" (two mini-cylinders stuffed with wild mushrooms) and rare venison served with a juniper berry sauce. For entrees, there are hearty options like beef tenderloin.
SLOW Unacceptable Service. Slow and unapologetic service. Been here a number of times, most recently invited to dinner. EVERY time the service is slow and poor. Very sad considering the interior and quality of food.
