Terrible company! – Eric Schafer (the owner) is a lying, manipulative, arrogant person. I worked for APM and found it be a completely unorganzied, unprofessional company that exploits honest working men. Horrible experience working there.
Worst property management company! – I own a condo on one of their properties. They are awful to work with. I'm not too sure what these employees do as far as work besides collect money. Anytime I have an issue, I am never able to speak directly to a property manager. They try to push off any issues onto another employee.....I am a very pleasant and understanding person, however, I expect better assistance when it is your job to manage the property!
My niece could do a better job, and she's only 3. – The APM reviews, It was like reading my own notes. Certainly I do believe different people are writing these reviews, how else could any one individual come that close to what I've experienced in reality. This Company not only treats individuals with disrespect, even select Board Members, they also hire individuals on the Association's payroll to do their work of managing the complex, (so the Association pays x2 for the work being performed), they also hire friends to do below par work at the complex, ie: landscapers, masons, etc. and fight tooth and nail to keep them on board. They are liars. The accounting dept. does not properly function in any capacity. APM also unilaterally and unlawfully changes language in pre-existing or pre-approved contracts, without the consent of the BOD/Association. As for nyyfan... it's only slanderous, when the information is "false" (dumb-dumb). // surfrunner26... try not to use to many big words, nyyfan may not understand you.
APM good so far. Beware Aggressive towing companies. – Beware -- this is not the Management company's fault, Owners voted on a policy that created a Very aggressive car towing policy. DON'T let a company trawl in your complex!
As for APM -- I'm content. No night backup number for owners/'tenants, but aside from that, no complaints..
We have had numerous problems. Some extreme. – We are currently attempting to terminate our relationship with this company. Site TOS doesn't allow me to expound on either nature or extent of our horrendous experiences however I certainly can commisurate with some of the admonition posted that similarly has culminated in our own abnegation with this company.
Regarding the commendation by NYYFan discrediting other reviewers, What established history or experience do YOU have with this company justifying the liberty you have taken to denounce other individuals reviews here NYYfan ? You state you have almost no experience with this company , and you certainly do not qualify to post a review that substantiates your praise while denigrating other reviews regardless of how they "appear to you" . You state you have no established history with Advanced, you state you are just beginning your very first year with a company that has not even conducted an annual meeting let alone prepared a budget for your complex as of yet. Granted some posts are from residents that are clearly angry however do angry posts preclude such posts as being truthful ? There are other
reviews on other sites regarding this company. I suggest your read them, and I do hope you never face the problems we have had to contend with, with Advanced ! I personally (although not a W&K fan by any means) have delt with them in the past, and I don't believe your statements regarding "better financials" is at all accurate based on many years of experience with both companies.
Manager assumes no responsibility for wrongful actions...get a history on them first, but either way.. speak to prior accounts – We won't recommend Advanced to other Condominiums wishing to make a transition in management. This is our 4th year with this company. They do not have the experience and staff to affordably address our needs however they promised us all sorts of things the first few years. In fact we are running into serious problems do to errors made by them, since Eric does not assume accountability for his mistakes. Prior to considering Advanced you'd be doing yourself a favor by calling past and present accounts experienced with their evidently well known lack of ability and interest over duration . In the 4 years we've had this company we have seen numerous inexcusable mishaps (some injurious) to residents, many culminating as a result of their ongoing negligence, or ability, still - they aren't qualified to suit our needs as a medium sized Condo complex.
We Like Them So Far! – The other reviews of APM on this site are so vicious that I wonder how they passed the User Review Guidelines. They might even be considered slanderous and all seem to have been written by the same very dissatisfied individual. Our condo complex has recently changed from White & Katzman to APM (thus the rating of "average", as we are just beginning our first year). Aside from the usual transition issues such as not receiving records from the former managers, Eric and his assistant Pat have already provided a higher quality of financials and other reports. After the first Board meeting, we received an action list based on the minutes, with work orders already assigned. This is one example of good service that we never received from other companies. I expect to update this review in a few months after APM has helped us prepare a budget and conduct the annual meeting of unit owners. Meanwhile, if you are considering a change of management, don't make any decisions based on those other reviews!
This company isn't qualified to manage. The shouldn't be in business – Dishonest practices, squandering money, lying and trying to BS their way out've predicaments they get into in lieu of their larcenous actions of stealing, unauthorized towings, and general improper actions regarding Common Interest Ownership laws they don't follow as well as numerous other actions indicating their select targeting and actions that should NOT transpire in an owner occupied Condo complex. No budgets furnished either. Health hazards in our Farmington Condo are being ignored, as are ongoing safety hazards. Schaefer spends twice the time covering his lazy butt, that he does doing productive planning and work. All BS, but actions speak droves. They can not and do not "manage" properties they are contracted to manage. Check references and Civil suits prior to hiring
Schaefer is a Shady/Crafty character, take heed. – This president (Mr Schaefer) is horrendously dishonest. Additionally, he lacks the common sense needed to manage accounts that support his business. This is a business that really should be shut down for ongoing unethical practices.
