Having dealt with Acme Appliance for many years, I was surprised to see the above issues. I would recommend them highly. Never a problem in any way.
YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME FOR SURE!!!! Terrible Terrible TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWY FROM THIS HORRIBLE BUSINESS. Didnt show up for the window of time and tried to blame it on me. JEFF, THE MANAGER HAD A NERVE TO SAY ON THE PHONE THAT THEY NEED TO EAT DINNER AND IF I WANT THEM TO COME I COULD MAKE THEM DINNER..........UNFORTUNATELY BBB DOESNT HAVE THE REPUTATION AS IT USED TO AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE CLIENTS CAN DO ABOUT IT. WHEN I ASKED FOR THE SUPERVISOR HE TOLD ME THAT I WILL GET NOWHERE AND THE OWNER LIVES IN FLORIDA....PLEASE SHOP AROUND AND GO TO OTHERS, THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE FIRED AND OTHERS SHOULD REPLACE THEM THAT REALLY NEED JOBS. IF INDEED IT WAS THE OWNER AND DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE OUT THE NAME SHAME ON HIM!!!
The worst customer service ever – I called Ace appliance in Plantsville, Ct which is now owned by ACME Appliance to service my gas fireplace. They assured me that they had technicians that were certified to repair gas fireplaces and scheduled an appointment for me right away. A tech came out to my house within a day. I stated that my fireplace had just shut off for no apparent reason while burning for around 20 minutes. He tinkered around in his tool box and on the floor looking into the unit for several minutes. Then took out a pair of pliers and bent the thermalcuplink. Said that should take care of my problem. Charged my $90.10. for about 10 minutes and no parts. That evening when i turned the fireplace on it shut off within 10 minutes and the pilot shut off. I tried to relight it but it several attempts. So I called Acme appliance and stated my problems. The woman acted very surprised that I was talking about service on a fireplace so I asked her why? She deverted my question stated that she was just distacted. I told her that the tech stated that I may need a new part if the problem continued. She new nothing about my service. She blamed it on the fact that there computers were down. So I gave her all of my info ( the make and model) and she assured me that after talking with the tech she would get the part ordered and call me back to schedule the innstall. Four days went by without a call so I called again. The woman now said that they weren't able to get a hold of the technician. So I got upset stated that it had been 7 days since the intial service call and 4 days since I called and said that the problem wasn't fixed. She responded with " your not doing this right now are you?" I said"Yes I am, How could you not be able to reach your tech? Doesn't he have a cell phone?" She said' Look your not the only customer that we have! Its not like it a Whirlpool or something that we are familiar with!" I said then you shouldn't have said you are certified to fix them if you ddon't know what your doing!" She responded " I'm trying to help you out and we will call you when we here back from the tech."
I am so fustrated with the way I've been treated and the amount of money I was charged for making my problem worse! The pilot light won't even stay lite now and nobody at ACME seems to care. They have treated me as if they are doing me a favor except I and theone who paid them $90.10!!!!!
BOSCH REFRIGERATOR REPAIR – I HAD BEEN PLAYING ARROUND WITH BOSCH AND ANOTHER APPLIANCE SERVICE COMPANY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS FOR MY ICE MAKER AND MY FREEZER NOT KEEPING FOOD FROZEN ON THE TOP SHELF. AT FIRST THE ICE MAKER WASN'T WORKING, I CALLED BOSCH MY REFRIGERATOR WAS NOT IN WARANTY, BUT I CALLED A BOSCH CERTIFIED REPAIR PERSON ANY WAY. iT TOOK THE FIRST REPAIR PERSON FOREVER TO DIAGNOSE THE WHOLE PROBLEM. HE REPLACED THE ICEMAKER BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN. THERE WAS STILL A PROBLEM BECAUSE FOOD WASN'T STAYING FROZEN ON THE TOP SHELF AND ICE WAS NOT BEING MADE BY THE ICEMAKER. THERE WAS A LACK OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN MY HUSBAND AND THIS REPAIR PERSON AND I DIDN'T KNOW THAT ANOTHER PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED. i CALLED BOSCH WHEN THE ICEMAKER WASN'T WORKING AGAIN AND THEY SUGGESTED I CALL ANNOTHER REPAIR PERSON. i CALLED ACME THEY HAD SOMEONE HERE TO CHECK THE PROBLEM THE NEXT DAY. iT WAS DETERMINED ANOTHER PART WAS NEEDED--A FAN MOTOR-- I CALLED BOSCH AND HAD THE PERSON FROM ACME ON THE OTHER LINE BETWEEN THE THREE OF US WE GOT THE PART NUMBER -- TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. tODAY ALMOST TWO WEEKS LATER THE PART CAME IN -- IT WAS OVERNIGHTED FROM CHICAGO. ACME SENT A REPAIR PERSON HERE THIS AFTERNOON TO PUT IT IN. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE, IF SO, I WILL NOT HESITATE TO CALL ACME THE WORST PART OF THE ORDEAL WAS WAITING FOR PARTS -- IT TOOK FOREVER. nOFAULT TO THE REPAIR PEROSN OR ACME.
Very helpful sale person & Tect – I went to Lowes about 1 and 1/2 Month ago. They
had a lot of New Christmas help. I was looking for
a washer. The help was ok , but were unable to answer
any of my questions. they would get another sale person, they did not no either. one of the question was
did you have any scrach & dent washers. They said they would see. I waited for about a half hour, no one
came back at that time. Another customer came by.
I asked him if he saw any washers that were reduce.
He said no , and told me about acme appliance in New
Britain, Ct. A week later i went to Acme applaince, a nice sale person show me , all kinds of washers . This sale person took his time answer all my questions.
I bought a used washer for a very good price. So far its running very well. I'm very happy .
Very high prices for parts – I have purchased parts for appliances a number of times, usually because an appliance is down and we need to use it ASAP. However, the prices charged for spare parts by Acme are very high; 2 or 3 times the internet price. So, if you have time, shop around or order parts online.
September 18, 2009 – Forget about the big company's(Lowes..etc) they know how to take care of people.
They also work with you even thou were going through a ruff times. Service is great.
great sevice – i went there 2 weeks ago to buy a part for my fridge.they had it in stock and informed me on how to put the part in ..i got nervous and asked them how much it would cost me to put it in and they offered me a service call within the next 2 hrs. the tech came fixed it in 1 hr and only charged me the service call and labor..would recommend to my friends and family!!
Worst Service, Bad Appliances, Terrible Service Techs, Avoid Just Go To Lowes – Trust Me
They are terrible ever since they moved to the new location. they are rude and liars. they sold me a stove that they reccomened me to get and on delivery it didn't even start when fired. it took three service calls finally to get it to work. and the first two calls no one ever showedd up. i'd call and they say someone was on the way and no one ever showed up. TWICE! and when i called and said no one was here and i am waiting they said well a lot of people are waiting. I guess so. Rude.

Just go to lowes and buy the cheap stove, NEW, for 298 dollars, with a one year warranty included. A refergierator, NEW, for 400 dollars, with a one year warranty. these people give a one year warranty on a 15 year old applaince. Lowes gives a one year warranty on a BRAND new appliance. for an extra hundred dollars it is worth it.
