Mall Disaster – It's time to re-do Enfield Square and make it once again the "little gem" it was in the 1970's.

Honestly, the tiles are all cracked and some missing. I am surprised no one has tripped and broke a hip yet.

Stores go in and out in a matter of weeks. There needs to be another anchor store. I have lived in Enfield my whole life and remember when this mall was built. The only reasonable explanation one can think of as to why the management has let this mall deteriorate is they are using it as a "loss" and financial write-off.

Bringing guests from out-of-town to the Square is an embarassment. Why a population of almost 46,000 people can't unite and get the Town Council to recruit a new management company for the mall is beyond me.

It would create jobs and give tax revenue to Enfield.

It's time to close it and make it a strip mall – With nearly 20% of the stores vacant Enfield mall is the place not to be. Target and Sears are the anchor stores and are always a good buy but the rest of the mall is kind of sad. It reminds me of someone who's trying to act better then they really are but just look foolish doing so. Stores go in and out of this place so fast it's hard to keep up. The malls one distinction is that is probably the only mall left in the world without a food court. It seems that established stores are pushed out and replaced with some really pathetic mom and pop shops. I love mom and pop shops but these are just plain sad. OMG they don't even have a magazine or book store at this place. Just go to Holyoke, everyone else does.
