It's about the MONEY not the animal – This was a nice practice when Andrea first started it.
Then it grew too big for her and she had to hire help and so it developed into a practice that had the main goal of "see how many dogs we can do for money in the shortest amount of time " thing.
Then they started a protocol of taking the dogs from you in the waiting room and bringing them back to you, all without you ever seeing the vet or getting to talk to the vet. What you are left with is second hand information from a vet tech that is not qualified to answer your questions. If I pay my good money to a doctor, I expect to be able to talk to that doctor. The only way you could get an answer is to ask to have the vet call you later on. Good luck with that.
The last straw for me was this fiasco :Mind you I had been a regular client and spent a couple of thousand there at that time already. ... My dog went into renal failure on a Thurs night and I called to get the dog put down the next day as he was in extreme discomfort and pain. I was told " We are sorry but there is nothing available until next Tuesday." That to me is the epitome of heartlessness.
This combined with the business of charging for unnecessary exams ( for example, go in for a rabies shot and they tack on a bill for a physical which consists of checking temperature and respiration ) that have nothing to do with the ordered service. This last bit of gouging the public is one of the most prevalent problems with the vets in this area. I have been to many vets in many different states and this state is , by far , the worst I have seen for this issue. Not always an ethical way of doing business but that's what happens when money rules out over all else.
<sigh> poor! poor! poor! over booked! and under staffed! – I made an appt to bring my cat in today. Seeing how hard it is to catch a cat and put him in his carrier I was 20 min late. They wouldnt take him and said I would have to rescedule. My cat was crying in pain and may of had a life threatning blockage and they wouldnt even look at him all because I was 20 min late!!!
Anyhow I brought him to the emergency vet, PAID DOUBLE!!! and he is fine now.
Best Vet Ever – I can't imagine going anywhere else. The whole staff has a very loving attitude towards pets, and isn't that the way it should be? Staff people have spent lots of time with me on the phone comforting me when I was afraid my pet had a problem, very informative and kind people. My pets are like family and I couldn't go somewhere without feeling as comfortable as I do there.
I WOULDN'T TRUST ANY OTHER VET!!!!! WONDERFUL! – My dog is 15years old. For the last 10 years, I have been taking her to Dr, Audorino. I LOVE Dr. A. She has been wonderful. She is very sincere, and honest. I have never felt that she has pushed for unneeded tests or medication. In fact, she has done the opposite, She has advised me not to give my dog meds that I thought she might need. In the end, Dr. A has done great by me and my dog. Also, in responce to the above comment, have never had any problems with her staff. They have been very polite since the day I stepped foot in the office. Yes, general visits can take a few weeks, but that just proves how wonderful this practice is...EVERYONE wants their pet to be seen my them! I have also have called with an urgent need, I they have made room for my us. If my call isn't urgent, I have always gotten an call back and a followup call. I must say, their communication skills are great. You can be sure that you WILL get a call back. I thank you all at Double A for being the there. I will always bring my pets there. You should too. Always service with a smile and LOADS of love!
Stay Away – This use to be a great vet. However, they have grown too fast, have too many patients, and are down to 1 vet with a few part timers. Appointments take months and you can never talk to any of the doctors. The technicians do all of the consultations. Be ready for a long wait, bring a pillow, and the prices are sky high. The telephone staff need to be sent to a manners class.
