I have been going to Blades Salon for years. The professional and extremely friendly staff are creative and talented. The front desk staff greet me with a smile and my drink of choice (mint tea) before I even sit down. From there I am pampered and taken care of no matter what service I'm getting. My stylist Jay, always listens to my ideas and concerns amd makes recommendations based on my hair type. i have received the same treatment from virtually every stylist I've seen there. My haircuts, hair colors, manicures and pedicures rejuvenate me every time. Any time I've had to reschedule an appointment, the front desk team goes above and beyond to find a suitable option. I've recommended Blades to my friends and family and none have been dissapointed. I can't imagine going anywhere else and receiving the same level of service. Thanks Blades!
Best Haircut! – I have been to many salons and this salon is by far the best! I travel 45 minutes to get my haircut by Katlin. I have had people ask me where I get my haircut while shopping one lady even took a picture of my hair becasue she liked so much. I have never had so many compliments for a hairstyle before. From the time you call to make the appt to the time you walk out the door everyone is very professional. I highly recommend this salon!
Happy client! – I have been a Blades customer for many years now. I have been seeing Joanne for my services on a regular basis and would highly recommend her to anyone. She has excellent relationships with her clients and I always leave there very pleased with her work.
Best Experience – As I arrived at Blades Salon in Wethersfield I was cheerfully greeted by reception staff. I promptly was introduced to my stylist Jay (also owner) who made me feel comfortable and eased my nervousness. Looked over my consultation questionaire and we ...discussed my expectations and his recommendations. As he prepped my color, I had an opportunity to gaze at the tastefully decorated Victorian style surroundings. Jay began by explaining and educating me in the transformation that was to take place. I felt very pampered and couldn't wait to see the results of my highlights and hair cut. I was not disappointed. I can say it was the best cut and color I had in a long tme. Upon leaving I received a complimentary top of the line tote of hair products used that day on my hair. On my second appointment I of course didn't expect the VIP treatment I received on my first visit. Boy was I wrong! Same friendliness, professionalism and fresh new hair style comb out. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a pampered, friendly, and diversified hair style and color that is tailored to you. Thanks Jay and Staff!!
Blades a high end bust! – Blades is recommended by word of mouth. Here's my recommendation , don't. I got two botched jobs from their stylist that's one step above junior stylist. She'd been there a long time and is well liked by the staff. The haircuts were perfect until the last one , which was uneven. Her coloring technique is on par with cost cutter's. I booked for cut and color on my first visit. Four weeks prior my hair was colored from another salon , so she said my hair can't be colored again , she recommended highlights. Next visit I went with the highlights. It looked terrible! I am a brunette and the highlights were brassy and all over the of of my head! Also she left 8 weeks of gray roots untouched. In hindsight I thought it was odd that she didn't get swatches and do better consulting. I am sick of these high end salons leaving us seething! I was very pleasant and non threatening through this whole ordeal. I didn't complain to the owner ( I will after this!) and gave Marjorie the benefit of the doubt. It seems she's only interested in selling services and products. Thanks , but no thanks!
Blades Salon - for the best in beauty – If I had only one hair left on my head, I would go to Blades feeling certain that I would come out looking like a princess. The entire staff - from stylists to students - is intimately involved in making clients feel pampered and cared for. I consider the hair stylists, particularly Jay, nothing short of gifted professionally, but it is even more important to mention how warm and welcoming they are to all clients, Jay and his "people" opened the salon to my daughter and her bridesmaids on a beautiful summer Sunday and made everyone feel that they had no desire to be anywhere else. I had used another stylist for 20 years, and was afraid to change for fear of having someone butcher my already less than perfect hair. When I finally worked up the courage to visit Jay at Blades four years ago, I got not only the best haircut of my life, but also the most relaxing and rewarding salon visit. It's no accident that the decor is Victorian, because the people at Blades treat their customers like royalty. Cancel your appointments anywhere else and try Blades for color, cuts, makeup, skin care and hair enhancement. After years of feeling like a follicular failure, I now consider myself a triumph of the tresses.
Michael is the best! – Recently, I had an appointment for a consultation for possibly getting some Jessica Simpson Clip In Extensions. Since I didn't want to chance it and simply buy them off the internet, I decided to see if someone could help me with what they were supposed to look like. Michael at Blades was so great! He helped me pick out the color and the length of the extensions and went over every differerent possible look with me! He even showed me how to style my hair when the extensions were in so it would look more glamorous! He was so nice and patient and I really appreciated it! I bought the extensions right on the spot, even though I could have saved 15% online! Everytime I've called Blades, the receptionists have been so friendly and everyone there seems to really love what they do. I definitely plan on returning!
Blades Salon – Recently I received a complimentary note from a former student, it inspired me to send a few notes to some of my teachers. This got me to thinking, "compliments don't come by often enough". I have made a promise to send compliments when deserved. I have been going to Blades for about 4 years and I can't As you enter you are greetly warmly, and once you are seated they serve you coffee, tea, water and a magazine. Within minutes of sitting in the cozy chairs the stress drains from my head down to my toes. Even amongst the hustle and bustle of the stylists and clients you can feel the sense of relaxation that they work so hard to establish. I so enjoy watching the stylists create their art and I anxiously await my new hairdo! In all the years I have been going there I tried one hair color I didn't like. When the manager and stylist heard (through the grapevine) they called me, had me come in and said let's get to a color your more comfortable with, "if your not happy then we're not happy" How thoughtful was that?! Jay has done all the cutting and color creating, but I have had several different stylists wash, dry and style my hair. I have never been disappointed and I have always been grateful for their willingness to teach me new techniques and share product information. I have also been so impressed by the professionalism and colleagiality of the staff that I have consulted the management for various stategies. In summary, you have atmosphere, warm and welcoming service, and incredible talent. I have never been disappointed with the facials, waxing, massages, manicures and pedicures. Did I mention that I travel from Boston! I have many friends that are also Blades fans and ask to come with me! The girls from Glastonbury are fans tool! Blades has the total package and they make a continuous effort to make their salon, themselves and your experience even better!
Hair is ruined! – The worst haircut I've ever gotten. It will take a year to grow out the 1 inch layer at the top of my head. The hairdresser never even told me about the mistake and instead just tried to cover it up! Devastated!!!!
Rude, expensive and inflexible – I just called them to inquire about wedding day services for hair and make-up. The receptionist was rude to begin with, and when I told her my wedding was on a sunday, she basically tried to brush me off by saying they're closed on sundays and i don't think anyone would even sign up to work that day. She then proceeded to tell me about the $100/pp (that's per each one of MY girls (8), not their staff) travel charge for them to come to the hotel since they're closed on sundays. I explained to her that the hotel was about 10 minutes from the salon, so that's a bit rediculous, but she repeated it exactly again. I told her forget it, thanks for nothing.
I just can't get over that this is how they would treat a potential client who's willing to shell out a bunch of money for all these services. I would hate to see how they would have treated me on my wedding day.
