Reviews for Golden Greek Restaurant

The Golden Greek has recently reopened under the original owners. Worth giving a try again.

I have been going to The Golden Greek for approximately 13 years. For the most part, the food is equal to the service..pretty good, but, as of today 8/26/12...both get a complete and total 2 thumbs down.

I called for my usual order of salmon, nothing on it, please do not over cook it (I have to specify due to it always being over cooked) and a small hamburg and mushroom pizza. Not hard, right? Apparently, I'm completely wrong.

The beast aka flower child wanna-be aka order taker had an attitude immediately.

When we received our order..the fish was a medallion...and burnt. The pizza had only small hamburg balls...can anyone say DiGornio?? Please!!

I told her I wanted a meal of the fish..what veggies do you have? "We have ff, baked potato or mashed" Idiot. I asked again, what veggies do you have..again, she answered me with a massive attitude and saying it as slowly as she could and enunciating as if I could not hear properly "frrrreeeennnccchhh ffrrriiieeess, bbbakkkeed pooottaatttoo ooorrrr mmmaasssheeed" again, I asked, what vegetables do you have...never mind...keep the burnt fish...when I looked at the pizza, there were no mushrooms..I told her I had ordered a hamburg and mushroom pizza..."do you want to see the slip"...

My husband and I walked out..never, and I mean never to return.

We thought while the restaurant was shut down by the health department they would come back with a new attitude...how wrong we were.

First and last visit to the Golden Greek – We went to the Golden Greek tonight to have dinner because we had a gift certificate. Wasn't to bad at first , Waitress came over didn't introduce her self just asked what we wanted to drink Nothing about the specials and if we knew what we wanted. Order our drinks appetizer and food. Went and got salad at the salad bar if that's what you want to call it , Not much to choose from, Green peppers were so slimmy cottage cheese was so not even good was frozen to container. Got our meal and said oh we order an app and waitress response was to quickly blame some one else. Didn't want it at that point Never got refills on our drinks . Food was boxed check was on top on top and nothing was said never once asked for dessert or coffee nothing Maybe have a good night nothing so yeah not a good experience at all Would have been better ordering take out from Dominos and had better serivce

Yuck – This food was the worst food I've ever had out. The soup was burned, my "roast leg of lamb" was not fresh and over cooked. My wife's scallops were overcooked and chewy. Salad bar has very few options. None of the food was fresh, seafood seemed like it was microwaved. Pasta was so over cooked it was mushy. Very expensive restaurant with very low quality food. YUCK!

Golden Greek Restaurant, the BEST in town! – The Golden Greek Restaurant is the best in the whole area! It has great food, HUGE portions, friendly and helpful staff, and a welcoming atmosphere! The new owners are extremely nice people, they greet you and make you feel welcome! They have done a great job here, taking over on such short notice. The restaurant has never looked better! I would definately go back. I recommend the Golden Greek Restaurant hands down!

People need to stop hating and move on with their lives. Obviously there are a lot of angry people out there who can't appreciate a good thing when they see it!

Find somewhere else. – The Golden Greek in Dayville CT was once one of the best if not the best restaurant in a 100 mile radius. The quality of the food was second to none. I remember Nick as a smart business man. I asked him once was is your secret? He told me quality food at resonable prices. Now with this new guy who always seems to be at the bar drinking, the menu prices are out of control. And the quality of the food is terrible. My wife and I have been going to the Golden Greek once a month for well over 20 years. They have waitresses who forget aout you, they come along when they want to. Then when you get your bill they could care less. I have tried the other restaurant nex to the hotel and the food wasn't that bad. Not as good as the Golden Greek used to be, but not bad. For the price and the service that we got there, it just may be our new restaurant we go to. I think the name was The Eagle or the Golden Eagle or something like that.

avoid the golden greek – why go to a place that picks up food off the floor and serves it. i saw with my own eyes. i also saw the fat guy at the end of the kitchen put his hands down his pants and continue cooking not just that but the short guy in the front smoking and cooking.
