not good experience – well, actually it is les then 1 star...

I havent read the reviews before booking, and I chose this place because we didnt have electricity in our home because of the snow storm and really needed to take a shower... it is extremely expencive to compare with what you will get... the is no wireless internet... but this is just the start... the sheets were dirty.. the were somebodies hair all over the bed and pillows... we went and asked for new, clean sheets... the bed was like a hammock... the bathroom so tiny and dirty.... and we booked non-smoking room, but it smelled disgusting.... I am glad I took my towels from home an warm clothes for the night because the air conditioner/heater was very noisy and it didnt had termostat so we hat to shut it down and sleep in cold room....

It's about it :)

I DO NOT RECOMEND IT... dont get excited about that ocean view... you will not see it if you will live on the right or the left side of the campus....

Seems ok from the outside, but... – My girlfriend and I attempted to stay at the Debonair in West Haven, CT in early August '09, for it seemed quaint and retro from the outside. Room smelled very musty. Cold tiled floor with a dirty cheap blue area rug. Really crappy construction of the building. Very tiny, dirty bathroom. Decided we wanted to sleep in our clothes on top of the bedspread because the sheets looked dirty and smelled terrible. At about 12am, we heard a continues loud knock coming from a couple doors down. Cracked my door to see what was going on, and saw a shady looking guy who kept saying "Jimmy, let me in...I need it bad". At the same time, I saw a man and a woman (who did not look like a couple at all [not to mention she was wearing thigh-high boots and a very short mini skirt]) drive over to a room from the check in office, and enter with absolutely no luggage. Finally, it was when we saw a mouse that we decided it was time to leave. Desk person refused to give us a refund though we'd only been there a couple of hours. After 15 minutes of us arguing with the desk person and he continuously saying "Yeah, you want to come here and have your good time, and leave without having to pay", he finally agreed. However, it took a half hour for him to process our refund, in which time he'd taken care of a few "patrons". It's a great location across from the beach...But it's just not worth it

horrible place! – people if you see this hole in the wall RUN LIKE HELL!

This place is a dump! Stayed there for about two hours until my gilfriend and I could not take it any longer so we got up at 1am and had to drive 40 minutes to find a place to sleep! Debonair owner (man with indian accent) lied to us on the phone (we called all the way from upstate New York) and he told us how nice it was and that it was right on the puplic beach.

Well, there is no beach, its an industrial gulf with black mucky water and no swimming. Right as we checked in a man shows up with a "professional street girl" to get a room. The room right next to us was having a party and people kept arriving by the minute and the noise was loud and constant. The owner did nothing to correct this and my guess is that it is a motel for users at best. Who ever wrote the other review (debbie) is either on something her self, or a family member of the owner. Also, when we left in the middle of the night we were refused a refund and are in litigation still six months later. DO NOT STAY IN THIS WRECK! eMAIL me if you would like to know more. In fact I would skip whaven altogether. S

back in time – This is a delightfull motel, not fancy, but rustic, giving you the feel of times gone by,but the best part is that it over looks the sound, all you can see is water and all its beauty. My husband and i enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back, this time with some family and friends.I would also like to mention that famous Jimmy's is right down the street. So to all enjoy.
