Caribbean Connection has excellent piercing artists. – I got my naval pierced back in June of '09 and Kenroy did an awesome job. He was very nice, he always washed his hands and put gloves on before touching anything. He showed me how the clamp worked. My navel healed within 4-6 weeks. I didn't trust anyone else to pierce me so I went back to him and had my tongue pierced. He did everything he did before and had me rinse my mouth with Listerine. He put the clamp on my tongue and it was painless. He started to joke with me, say, "aww your no fun, you didn't drool." haha. He's a great piercer and I would recommend him to everyone.
caribbean connection.love this piercer. will never go anywear else – I wanted to get my belly button pierced so I asked around. the name Kenroy at caribbean connection kept comin up so I checked him out. He was very profecional and a nice guy. I had a bunch of questions and he answered them all. when I got in his little piercing room everything looked clean. It looked like a doctors office. I was so nervice. He talked me through the whole thing and it didn't even hurt. he told me how to take care of it then I left. it has been 6 weeks and it is all healed.I wanna go back and get my nose pierced. I recomend him to anyone!!!!
Excellent imagination and total attention to detail. – Bill is a amazing artist. After sitting with Bill and talking for just a few minutes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Bill has done a awesome job on my arm and I will continue to go to him for the other arm. I am the point with Bill now that I just call up tell him how much I have to spend and a few days later he calls me in and Transfers his masterpiece from his mind to my arm. I will never get ink from anyone else. Bill is awesome and I highly reccomend using him for your next sitting.
Bad piercing aftercare instructions & Bad tattoo advice – I have had my belly button pierced and have 4 tattoos - all in CA. I visited Caribbean Connection in JAX for a barbell ear piercing. The piercer did a good job of making the piercing painless. She told me to put anti-bacterial soap only on the piercing. It ended up getting infected and caused gross, bleeding skin bubbles. It was very sore for weeks and is slightly sore today. I almost removed it but decided to revisit. When I asked another piercer if he could make it better, he said he couldn't help me b/c he didn't pierce me & he didn't agree w/ the other piercer's soap instructions. He told me I would have to come back when she was working. Instead of removing the piercing myself, I started using alcohol on the piercing. It has since cleared up but it is still painful to sleep on and I have had the piercing for over 4 months now. I still have to put alcohol on it every night a/f my shower or it gets re-infected.
I called them on 1/16/07 to see if the tattoo artist could create a stencil of a drawing for a tattoo. The guy who answered the phone was very unprofessional and said the tattoo artist was out then asked "what do you want?" I asked if the tattoo artist could create a stencil from my own design. He didn't answer my question and instead rambled on about everything else the tattoo artist could do. I asked him again, rephrasing the question as I thought maybe he misunderstood me. Instead of attempting to understand my question, he got an attitude and rambled on with the same answer as before.
I'm not going back due to this and the bad piercing. I had decided to give them another chance hence my tattoo inquiry & b/c there are not many options for tattoos in Jacksonville. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as I thought the piercing issue was just related to that one piercer. I now see they have inconsistencies in their processes of piercing and tattooing and will instead drive 8 hours to Miami for better customer service & a better outcome.
Awesome Tattoo – I went in to Carribbean Connection to check it out because it has been a while and I am so glad I did.I was looking to get a Tattoo when I went in and left with a beautiful sacret heart tattoo and a whole lot more. They were very busy when we arrived but the staff was helpful and we got a quick consultation from a Great Artist named George. He then walked us up front set the appt for an hour later and we proceeded to shop.My wife found some killer shoes and some very cool body Jewelry.I bought a classic Black Sabath t-shirt and some tickets to see Ben Harper. To top it all off George the Tattoo artist did the most colorful and the cleanest Tattoo I could have asked for.My wife and I will be back soon for clothes ,shoes and especially our next Tattoo and Piercing.
Work not dependable – Tattoo artist has probably changed, but the first time I went here, I had a celtic knot design done and was happy with the work. Went back to add an Egyptian design around an ankh (that was royally screwed up by another studio). The "artist" made no suggestions, and what he drew on me and what he actually inked were two different things. Was NOT happy.
