AWFUL!!!!!!!!! – All I can say is thank God this place went out of business!!! I went to this salon once and swore I would never go back! The owner, Beth, did my hair and she was the most annoying, rude, self-absorbed person I have ever met in my life! I specifically asked for a certain color, and even pointed it out on a color swatch, but ended up with a much darker color with brassy highlights!! Not only did she do my hair completely opposite of what I wanted, but she was also very rude to her employees. Two of the receptionists were very pregnant, and she had them bending over cleaning the floors with what smelled like bleach and then had the nerve to critisize them for doing it "incorrectly". I felt like telling her to get her fat butt down there and doing it herself! Then her very rude deadbeat son came in begging for money when he looked well of age to take care of himself. Beth told him "no", and this led to an argument. An argument which wasted time that she could have been doing my hair and wasnt. Thanks to her, I was late picking my son up from day care and was charged $30!! Also, while she was doing my hair, all she talked about was herself. I don't even know her, why do I need to hear her life story?!?! After I picked my son up, I went down the street to Casablanca where (thank God!) someone ws able to fix my hair. I hope this place never relocates for the sake of the clients!!!
GREAT PLACE – I have been coming here for 8 years and Beth does my hair ..if you want what your looking for this is the place when I first came here I had done my own hair and it really messed it up ..she is very experienced in fixing color and gives a great consultsatio. We have some several different looks over the years , she is flexible with being able to change your look ...i use to have to change stylist just to get a different look. Some time we do very blonde streaks and sometime we do a more natural look ..whatever you want she can pro duce ... communication is the key ..ask and you sha ll receive. I do'nt know what brand she uses but It always looks shiney and feel silky when most steaking oe bleaching is usually dry. She is also fun and funny, bright and cheery and you can tell her staff enjoys working with her. Joanna does my massages and she is great also ....strong hands when needed to get out those knots in my shoulders ...she really knows her stuff and she is very professional and give you this relaxing feeling when talking to her. The front desk astaff is always so bubbly as well...just go there u will definitly enjoy it. I like the decor too ...I 'm writing all this because it upset me to see my most favorite get a way get a couple of bad reviews ..I know Beth if you had a problem she would fix it ..I saw here give one lady and entire new spa package when one of her new massage therapist didn;t do the job the cusrtomer was expecting ...(needeess to add she no longer works there, and no she wasn't fired either). I will say I was there that day and she handled it a very diplomartic ways ...good people skills at that ...hard to find these days. I will continue to be a client as long as she's there!!
Hair Do-n't – I had my blonde hair highlighted there hoping to get a sun-kissed, natural look for the summer and it came out looking like bleached streaks. I just moved to the area of Ortega and thought it was convienent. I had to find another stylist to fix it immediately. Not happy at all with the results.
great service – I have read the review and was sad to see that someone found the place I frequent reqularly not up to their standards. I have nothing but praise for the establishment. I have had a manicure and a pedicure along with other services and have found them to be just as good if not better than others. There are times when canceling an apointment comes along. I have found that the salon has tried to help and reschedule, and that not one person has given any attitude. What I have found that people today make schedules and then not have the where with all to call and cancel or what others to jump through hoops to acomidate them. Most places are willing to work with you and to reschedule, I have found this out with the group that works at the spa. Like I said I was sad to hear that someone had given Elite spa a bad review. I have also found that some people would complain if they were hung with a golden rope. Thank you Di
Take Caution! – Yes, indeed I tried to cancel...wouldn't you if the FL Dept of Transp stated that I-10 would potentially be closing due to the fires in south GA and North FL , especially thru Lake City & Columbia Cnty, which was the only available route? I wish the fires knew to hold off 48hrs...I'll make sure Mother Nature knows 48hrs in advance the next time I travel anywhere. In no way did you try to accommodate me, well...unless of course when you stated, "That if I didn't show up that I would loose 50% of the gift cert (which again was close to $300 value!), fire or no fire! Real accommodating. Yeah, that must've slipped your mind too. Also, as for the closing at 3pm, the gift cert clearly states your hours are until 5pm on Sat., but why didn't you even mention that it changed to 3pm? Also, how could I refuse a Trucco Makeover when you told me on the phone, in my first conversation to originally make the appt, that "you no longer do Trucco Makeovers and that you recently changed your services"? (Which she mentioned isn't updated on the web for up to a month). You must've changed your weekend hours too, huh?! You should really stop scamming your customers and let them know these things. Your lies are unbelievable, but you have to live with them, not me! Please people, don't take my word for it, go visit yourself...check out the "kitchen" and the "dimly-lit" room. If you can't personally tour the place yourself, bc you're out of town or have been given a gift cert., well then take heed, your better off elsewhere. BTW, just because your paint is Ralph Lauren doesn't mean it looks good, honey. Have you been to a spa? I could package sour milk and say it's fresh, but it's still cottage cheese, so would you drink it?! Oh, and when you said "dimly lit", that's funny because the lights were off and the only "dimly lit" light source was coming from a partially covered window near the ceiling. Nice try. Well, I'm off to open a spa...thanks for the customers!
I think it 'sonly fair to respond the the below mentioned complaint. – Let's keep in mind there are always 2 sides to every situation. She wanted that particular Saturday...We close at 3pm, we went out of our way to accomodate by staying 2 extra hours. This was a prepaid certificate and we could of postponed her to another date. We explained to her at the time of her booking there would be a gap between her nails and facial/massage ( the rooms were book- the therapist was in session not on break.
The morning of her appt..she attempted to cancel and we had to explain our policies for cancelation, (48 hrs. for Fri/Sat appt.), so she was not pleased before she even arrived.
Our nail tech is a new graduate (everyone is new at some point), I've seen her "French's and they look great! And she gave me an awesome Pedicure yesterday-very good polish job.
The only reason she knew the front desk person had another job(only right next door) was because when she came out of the facial room she decided not get the makeover so she wanted to use the remaining balance for retail and the terminals had been shut down. So the recptionist called to ask what to do in this case and again we attempted to accommodate, then I asked the receptionist about the schedule next door.
We stayed late for her and are now being chastized! Amazing those who you try to help the most tend to hurt you the worse.
Earlier that day ,when the therapist came out of session-she inquired to the front desk, if her last client left a gratuity, which she had not. I commented: "Not everyone, knows to tip, I just simply appreciate the business in the first place.
We have been in business for 12 years and have only had to accommodate about 2 clients of this nature. Lucky us and good track record. She was not our typical client. And our facility is so clean, newcomers think we just opened--looks new and clean, freshly painted, which by the way, the facial room is designed with Ralph Lauren, a new spa design colour when dimly lit gives off the sensation of relaxation & tranquility.
Avoid At All Cost!!! – I have been to a few spas in my time and couldn't not believe this one. It was a gift, and it's the thought that counts completely in this case. I was given a gift cert. and couldn't believe the unprofessionalism, utter lack of experience, & uncleanliness practices over the course of the few hrs there. It started out with a pedicure by one who had just graduated from nail school. She went on about how difficult it is to put make the 'french' tip on straight. She clipped the middle one some of my nails, so they're now all cracked and need to grow out. On to the manicure, same experience. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. She had the nerve to say, "I'm not going to file your nails, they look ok". I had to plead with her to file them. I just kept feeling that my boyfriend was getting completely hosed here over & over. Well, after the scorching experience with the hurried parafin wax and then drastically uneven french mani/pedi, I had to wait 30 minutes for the massage therapist to come off her break. WHAT??? This is service??? The facial packets were set out in steps 1-4 on the table inside of a small pumkin-painted dungeon. Another employee asked, 'What did you have for lunch?" Then mentioned that with the package, lunch was provided...WHAT? There was no offer for lunch. BF ripped off again! On my way out the door, it's attitude because the cashier had another job to go to with a starting time of 5pm. Well, it was just after 5pm when the massage was finished, so now I'm being hurried out. Her work schedule isn't my problem, that's between her and the owner. Terrible time magt skills. Is this woman really running a business? Don't bring personal issues onto your clients/customers. This was by far THE WORST service & spa that I have ever experienced. I truly thought at one point I was on Candid Camera...just waiting for someone to jump out. BTW, the owner from the time I came in, was complaining about Non-tippers. SAVE YOUR TIME & $$$, DON'T GO HERE!
Great Find!! – i just wanted to say I really enjoyed my visit here, I found it to be friendly, professional, clean and the staff was very attentative. The massage wa great and the facial too, my face feels go good! I also liked how detailed the manicure and pedicure were. I will definitely come back and refer others. My hightights are great ..never dried out aways silky smooth. . Ask and you shall receive. She has been highlighting my hair for 7 years sometime we do heavier ones and sometimes i get natural one';s it's all about communication
