Full of ill-tempered red necks and racists – While dining at Sneakers one night with two of my business contacts I was entertaining from out of town, some guy outside harassed us diners by twice honking what sounded like a train horn from his car. That wasn't the problem: What WAS the problem was two moronic patrons who thought they were representing us diners' best interests by shouting "That is BULLSH**!" and "You ni**er!" at the car. My contacts and I paid our bill and left immediately. If this is what we can expect of the rank-and-file clientele of Sneakers--nothing more than unemployed Klan lackeys--, then Sneakers can kiss my a$$.

You've got to be kidding – I'm telling you up front this is a negative review for both Citysearch and Sneakers.

Today is Dec 26, 2006. The Tagline I selected from MSN was "Big Screen Action: Bars for Bowl Game Mania."

Okay, first off, the #1 rated location is Sneakers located at 10750 Atlantic Blvd Ste 8

Jacksonville, FL 32225-2941? This location has been closed at least since May!!! Now, they do have two other locations but come on.

Second, I will agree that Sneakers (at the beach) is a good place to watch the bowl games; but -- and here's a big WARNING -- if you see Sneakers appear on Citysearch for ANYTHING but football, stay clear. They claim to be a "Sports Bar"; however, they mean "Football Bar".

Yes, they have numerous televisions around the entire place and several cinema-sized screens indoors. This is deceiving however...

If there is a third-rate high school football game being played in Siberia, it WILL be on 90% of the televisions; and, they WILL have the audio for the entire place turned to the game at a deafening 100 decibels.

Try, oh, please try for yourself to get a Major League Baseball playoff game (without audio even) on more than two screens. It won't happen, unless it's the bartender's favorite team and the manager is busy avoiding his/her responsibilities making football pools while the bathrooms are out of toilet paper and four employees are out in the back "hanging out".

Want to watch Tiger Woods, Albert Pujols, Henrik Larsson, Maria Sharapova or Ed Belfour? Stay at home, turn on the TV and save $50.

Want to watch the much-anticipated upcoming middle-school football draft? Go to Sneakers.

Oh, did I forget to mention that if you do happen to go there on a second occasion that you are immediately a "regular" and your level of service is dropped to zero because you are now EXPECTED to accept terrible service and still tip well? I guess I just did.

Inventive house drinks and monster TVs make for a stellar sports bar. – The Scene
This is the place to go for all major sporting events: football, basketball, baseball, NASCAR, ice hockey, golf, soccer, tennis. There are four gargantuan TVs in addition to the regular big screens. The place is also chock-full of memorabilia like Shaq's autographed sneaker (size 23) and Mohammed Ali's shorts from the Thriller in Manila fight.

The Draw
Try a Sneaker's signature popsicle drink. The Mudslide has amaretto, Bailey's, vodka and a Fudgsicle plopped in the middle. Pina colada fan? Try it with a Dole coconut bar. There are also 10 beers on tap and plenty of bottled selections. Chicken wings come in five flavors. The spinach- and artichoke-stuffed steak takes bar food to a new level. Pool, darts, an arcade and NTN trivia games keep sports fans busy.

Wrong Location – First of all unless I have been blind while in Sneakers on Atlantic Blvd I have NOT seen any outdoor dining. That location sits in a shopping center and I haven't seen anything outdoor. However, the Sneakers at the beach in Jax Beach does have outdoor dining.

Big is Better – The Beach Sneakers is beautiful, good location, surprizing that they have terrific food and a fun staff. All ages are welcome but they must conform to the dress code, liquor laws and just behave. Very upscale place for Jacksonville Beach, don't think sports bar with Sneakers - think great restaurant with sports.

overpriced but the got the satellite – Great sports Bar. Period. horribly small, way overpriced weak cocktails. Gin and Tonic $6.00. Eat at home and get drunk at the ritz beforehand. Food is lousy at best and service is dismal every time I go there. We, my out of state friends and myself, go there to catch the games on satellite. Try BW-3s for a much much more fun and fan type environment. PS- no way the memoribilia is real- obvious forgeries on merchandise- from someone who knows

Not Even In The Top 20 – Putting Sneakers Sports Grill as the 2nd best steak in Jacksonville is a joke. Putting Ruth Chris is also a joke but that's another email. The cut of meat was no better than a standard steakhouse strip, thin, little marbling with the texture of frozen leftovers.

Great bar! Just not the 2nd best in town!

You're right on! – This place fits the bill for a sports bar. I travel the west coast and like the feel of this place. Being a stranger to all towns I go to on business it's nice to feel welcome. Not that over sweet stuff, just pleasant courtesy. Food's great.

Fun sports bar – A fun sports bar in the heart of the beaches. Lots of other bars/clubs around the area, so a fun place to go out. It's huge, but tons of tvs and places to sit.
