Shady crooks!!!! – I have the same story as the person with the diamond! They seemed so nice when I was introduced to them 16 years ago! My ex-husband sent ALL his friends to them and subsequently I have.

Last year they gave me the "friends" deal if I sent a couple people to them. They took $9,000 PLUS a diamond purchased from them for $15,000 some years back. The new 2.5 carat diamond came with an in-house appraisal at over $27k!

I have sent soooo many people to them!

In January, when the sign still said "ELIAS" I went in and was told to come back after inventory (Elias was nowhere to be seen) and we could talk about selling back the diamond. They tried to get me to leave it there on consignment....but I had done that with the first diamond and it stayed there with no bites for a year!

I went back in February, and the sign had changed to "MICHAELS". The display cases were empty and the only person there was Sam. He has been around for years but I always saw him in the back. He again said they had just had inventory and I should leave the diamond with him to send to his "guy in LA" for an "good cash offer". He also said if I had drinks with him, he would probably get me a better offer. I got the heck out of there.

I have since gone to Underwoods ( a very respected jeweler in Jacksonville), who in turn sent the piece to Circa (a very reputable diamond broker in New York) only to find the diamond is worth about $5,000!!!! According to the "in-house" appraisal I got at Elias, the re-sale value for that color and clarity stated should be at WORST $15k!

I hope people read this and stay away from whatever the store on Atlantic Blvd across from Brumos changes it's name to! They are thieves!!!!! I am so sorry to all the people I have sent there, and to all: PLEASE make sure your diamonds are GIA certified!

Scam Artist Crooks – BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!!!! - Don't believe the hype...I recently bought a very large 2ct round engagement ring from these people. I was told and given an in house appraisal from them of $26K at time of purchase. I was told it was all natural diamond SI1, H color. I paid to have GIA certify it recently and it came back as I1, J color and shows it had been laser'd drilled to remove carbon in stone, the color and clarity were way off. It was explained to me by a certified GIA jeweler that this is done in order to boil the carbon out of the middle to enhance look. They sold me a tampered/altered diamond that is virtually worthless that is . I paid about $20K for it... and was told it is worth around $2K at most. Don't buy into their apparent niceness, they are sheeps in wolves clothing. I only hope my writing this will save all those who are unsuspecting trusting people from going through this very bad and financially devastating situation.

Good People and Super Honest! – I HAVE Known THE OWNER, " And allot of the employees, forever, (it feels like!)" They are the greatest people!

Elia, has stolen me, from his sales girls, every time, (even 5+ years later.) { I am Nice, and he loves to talk to me.}

All Money spent there, was "Well Spent!"

Mr. Bad review. (If you wish to pay for Coal, you get Coal!)

I rarely deal with sales people. Elia, remembers me. (We Play, and I buy.!) They are the best people! (You are always welcome to look for "oclusions," on any diamond. (They own Loops) If you are Obnoxious, and "full of yourself," (Go to to Western Virginia!)

If, You bought a Piece of Coal, from Mr. Elia, (You are the Cheap Idiot!) You get what you pay for! I have always loved everyone there. (Honest, etc.)

E.

Elias Jewelry response – Dear Sir,

i was your salesman that day, when you came in to inquire about the ring, i told you it would be several weeks because of Christmas delay, and that any orders/repairs were done as they are recieved and after x-mas. About your apprasial, they are all typed same day and sent out regular mail, yours was sent out a while ago.

Horrendous Service – A few days before Christmas I went to Elias to order my wife an exact replacement wedding band for the one she lost. The salesman found it in a catalog and said that he would call the manufacturer when they open (west coast manufacturer) and then call me with a price. It's been five weeks now and I still haven't heard back from anyone.

Two weeks ago I went back to Elias (after I purchased the wedding band from another store) to have an appraisal done on a diamond engagement ring. I paid for it and was told that it would be mailed no later than the following day. I'm still waiting on it.

I will never patronize this store again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. They know absolutely nothing about customer service. In this economy you would think they would be bending over backwards to please customers, but evidently they don't want the business.

Thieves – The place is a den of thieves. They will switch diamonds on you and sell you junk diamonds. Very dishonest and never to be trusted. Will over charge if you are not jewelry savvy. Will never step foot in the business again.
