I have lived @ Portside for about a year and I like it, overall. The pool is great and the neighbors mostly keep to themselves, like I do. There are tons of kids of all ages to play with my children and are mostly very good kids!! A few drawbacks: they will "force mow" your lawn if you get behind (No yard maintenance!!!) and then charge you $50. They put all notices on the doors which I almost never get until its too late due to wind and rain. They will not accept partial rent payment if late and charge $50 on the 6th and $5 everyday thereafter, and even if you notify you will be late they still send a legal letter discussing eviction. On these issues the office can be quite inflexible. But the entrance is lovely and the grounds well kept, overall, except there is no net at the tennis court. I consider Portside a temporary residence but I am in no hurry to move! I would recommend it!

Portside is a very friendly community. We moved in a yr ago, and have been pleased ever since. The staff is awesome, the maint. are always on top of every issue and fix the issues quickly. They come around about 1 every 4-6 mths and check out to see if you have wear and tear on the home i.e. door hinges, flooring messed up and they repair it at that time. They also have Pest Control if you need someone to come out for an issues you just call the front office and they send someone right out. The office staff are excellent, they also provide a 1x free Lawn service prior to spring and they keep up the grounds in the entrance very lovely. There are your ususal problems with teenagers but nothing that you wouldn't encounter otherwise at a well to do community either. That is going to happen anywhere you live. Everyone acts like family here. They also give out free food once a month, in these days and times that is good for anyone. They give you a box full of food and include bags for you to get fresh veggies and fruit. The water bill isn't that high.. I have a washer and with that and there are 4 people in the home the bill is usually $11-$18. They have 2 pools and 2 playgrounds. The speed bumps can be annoying but it keeps "most " people from speeding.

It is a nice place to live, dont believe what you read.

Joe is the man.. the best to help you find the home of your dreams.

Portside has become a great home for us.

its ok if you have some money to spend – ive been living here for 6 months now im glad i didnt listen to the reviews and saw for myself. i live in the back of the park with a bunch of retired people it is very quiet around here and totally safe. i dont understand how people can say you are poor here i pay a lot of money for my rent if anything you should have a good bit of money to live here. the only thing i dont like about our place is that the last tenant was nasty and we cant seem to get rid of these huge bugs. but you most def cant be poor and afford to live here the rent is not that high but they charge you all utlities and that hurts i would like to stay another year but cant afford to

POORSIDE...... Portside – I came to visit my family. I have now seen first hand why they want out of that place. I took my nephew for a walk it was a Sunday morning about 8ishy... a man was sleeping in a drive way with an empty box of beer next to him. (he was mexican) . Then we get farther dowm the road and I see about 15 men hanging on a porch all drunk!! I speak spanish myself and they where saying very rude things to a teenage girl riding a bike. Im sure if her parents knew the things theses men where saying there would be many problems. So on we walk passing all the broken bottles, cans empty beer boxes, Mcdonalds wrappers and so many more thrown trash in the road. And the I come across empty DOPEbags. It a shame this park is so run down. I can remember when my parents lived in here many many years ago and it was a safe, clean and friendly. Now its just pretty much trash. People parking on the grass expired tags or no tags at all. What happened to no storage but in a shed? So many places are pilled sky high with junk in there yards. Cars parked behind the trailers piles of junk .. and the grass on many of the trailers havent been cut in a long long time. And all those empty trailers that have the windows broken out of. Its a crying shame that this park that was once so beautiful is now so run down and full of trashy people. Sorry to say but Jacksonville ARC Portside is one run down drug mexican infested place and I cant wait till my family find a better place to live.. Isnt Jacksonville MOTO a better place to live...???? Well dont move to portside!!! because its not a better place to live and the people that own that park need a first hand reality check !!!! ITS NOT A PLACE TO LIVE TILL YOU CLEAN IT UP !!!

Good place to live near beach – I have investigated all parks in the Jacksonville area, before I moved here. They have many rules I agree with such as no rentals in this section, only owner occupied. However whether this is being enforced is questionable. Most of the tenants in my section (WEST) own their own Doublewides and take very good care of them and the property. But I was shocked to see a raise in the rent of $23 this year, when there have been no major improvements and in fact last year (rent raise $11) the pool was not available until almost May....with lots of lame excuses...the supposed Club House is being used by the Office People, so you might as well say it is non-existent and the bumps are doing a job on my auto springs. My husband and I are seniors and we are getting no rebate whatsoever on our fees, lthough if we owned a home we would be getting one. There must be something which can be done. I too will be forced to move out soon though I love the location, if the enornmous fee raises continue. I see the park becoming vacant soon at this point because of the raises, must have a vacancy of 35% or more with nothing added.
