Everything is old, dusty, dingy, and cheap... chairs rickety and tables all tippy... nothing uniform, and everything just ripped up, tacky, and looking not clean. You can (unfortunately) see the kitchen -- check it out for yourself. You'll walk out.

Second problem is the Low Quality of Meats - everything is low-grade "Choice" or "Utility" grade beef, and the steaks are not a very well-marbled "Choice." Nothing is Prime, not even the "Prime" Rib, which is woefully unseasoned.

Inconsistency and Untrained Chefs: Casey's is clueless as to how to cook a steak properly. A rare steak is red and cold in the center, often with a thin dark-char on the outside if so ordered (most rare steak eaters do order that way: see "black and bleu" on any culinary site).

At Casey's a rare order always comes book-Medium or darker. Pink and warm center. Tough and chewy. A medium-rare order arrives book medium-well, with a super-heated pink center, and the brown edges creeping a full quarter-inch into the meat. It's as tough as shoe leather, and in this case, the cliche' fits.

Vegetables are viewed as something to be drowned in boiling water. Any kind of mixed veggie or broccoli arrives as limp as if it came from a can. It was probably fresh when they started boiling the living daylights out of it, but it arrives with no crispness remaining.

Slow service is the cornerstone of this place, because, unless you arrive at 4:30 p.m., you're going to wait for the orders of this under-size kitchen to trickle through.

Seafood here is practically non-existent, and what they do carry is never fresh, always frozen, and comes out with fish smells. It too, is almost always overcooked, and lacks seasoning.

Rudeness is a problem here. I recently received my New York Strip (not a cheap steak) in an extremely tough condition -- it was book-well-done, and so burned that it was 3/4 of an inch of pure carbon along the edges. This was in response to an order for "blood rare with a Pittsburgh Char". It should have been a well-marbled piece of meat, properly seasoned, then done on a super-hot flat grill for 30-75 seconds per side to char it, sometimes done with a butter -- then rest a minute or two, then served. This can also be done in an oven with slightly longer times if the temp is close to 800F. Either way, the meat gets barely cooked. That's not what I received.

Here's the problem. It was a take-out order done late, and when I brought it back the next day to demonstrate the problem, along with some printed guides for the chefs, so that next time I ordered this way, they would know HOW to actually do it, I was given a bunch of excuses by an obnoxious bartender who seemed to be in a managerial role, or at least was determined to tell me that what happened wasn't something they did: "Oh, those things heat up after they leave here". I pointed out that they don't go 5-Stages from Rare to Well-Done after they're off the grill. (Yes, the center does darken a bit after cooking, but not very much if something is book-rare with a thin char.)

When I pointed this out, nicely, the Casey's guy said "Well, this tells me nothing -- you could have done this to it yourself."

Seriously? I'm going to be accused of taking a piece of meat and burning the crap out of it, then returning it? For what reason? I didn't even care about a discount -- just for them to see the issue.

This is Rude and Insulting, and if that's the way you want to be treated, you can always go to Casey's of Winter Springs.

Won' eat there again – Tried the place a year ago and the service was terible, food was ok, but for the price it should have been better. Moved to Oviedo 3 months ago and decided to try it again. Same problem. Burgers was ok, kids menu prices are high for what they get and chicken in sandwish was tasteless. Complaint to the manager after paying the bill (I always pay before complaining so the know I'm not trying to get free food) and he just didn't care. Had a "if you dont like it go somewhere else" attitude. We will.

tasteless food, poor service – The appetizers were awful, bad salsa tasted like tomatoe sauce with an onion from a food processor. Spinach artichoke was weird tasting. Got a burger (how can you mess this up) it was raw and tasteless. My friends salad the same no flavor. The place doesn't look clean and the hostess wouldn't crack a smile even after eye contact and smiling at her (that was before we got the food!) Won't go there again.

not worth the money – The only food worth eating there is the burgers, unless you get a kids burger, then you are better off going next door to McDonalds. I went here with my family, I have 2 kids and what upset me the most was the prices for the kids meal. At most restaurants the drinks are included with their meal when you are paying $4.99. Not here though, you get charged an extra $2.25 for a kids drink, which is the same price as an adult drink! I paid $52.00 for an adult burger, mac and cheese, kid burger, and grilled cheese all with fries and a drink! I could have gone and had steak at Outback for both adults and the 2 kids meals for that price!

LIKE SITTING DOWN AT A FRIENDS HOME - WITH BETTER FOORD – What a Find !!!!

I have lived in the area for over a year and never tried the place until one day my husband suggested we give it a chance. That was two weeks ago and I have eaten there four times since. The service was fast and friendly. You are welcomed with a big smile and rolls you wish your mom made. (don't tell her I said that) Every meal is more than I can eat and priced perfectly for a good healthy lunch (or dinner). Speaking of eating healthy - try a salad... I'm sure you will be impressed. It's like you went to your fridge and made it yourself.. not just a bowl of greens with 1 tomoato on top. You get a grand salad for a great price with HOMEMADE dressing.

I'll be back again and again

APPETIZER, SALAD & ENTREE SERVED ALL AT ONCE?! TOO BAD. – My husband and I dine out several times a week. On Saturday evening 3/24/07, we visited Casey's Grill. We attempted to place our order with a foreign waitress having difficulty with the English language. When our two bottled beers turned up as drafts, we knew the ordering process was not understood. We carefully proceeded to order an appetizer, two salads and two entrees - a NY Strip Steak and a Prime Rib. When the waitress brought the appetizer and salads to the table at the same time, we asked her not to put the steak order on until we finished our appetizer. Within two minutes, our steaks arrived. We were eating our appetizer, still had our salads to eat, and we watched our pricy steaks getting cold. My husband asked to speak with a manager. After quite some time, a young gentleman wearing a dishwasher's apron approached us asking what we needed. We explained that all our food had arrived at the same time and our steaks were already cold. The defensive manager proceeded to tell us that he couldn't possibly keep an eye on the waitressess while he was working in the kitchen. He continued to tell us that he just makes sure that the food gets out of the kitchen, not when it gets on the table. We explained that we had asked the waitress not to bring the steaks out because we already had our appetizer and salads to eat. He went on to tell us that he did not bear any of the responsibility at all for all of the food being brought to the table at once. Nor did he consider the waitress responsible. After questionning the validity of this man being the actual restaurant manager, we chose not to continue debating with him and just asked for the check. NOTE: After the manager and waitress left our table, other patrons told us of their difficulties with the foreign waitress as well. These other patrons also witnessed, first hand, that telling the manager about it was useless. TOO BAD.

Staff was nice – I have only been there for take out. It was very busy there, but the staff was very nice anyway. The food was so homey and great. I had the chicken pasta and was really good, seeing that this is not a "pasta" place, My friend got spinach dip both times, that is how good that is. I got a salad the second time and it was huge, but fantastic. I got the soup with it and they packed up the bread and everything.

Great food, great prices – Have been here MANY times. Kids love the place, esp. the Mac and Cheese. Good salads and appetizers.
