If I could give them a (-10), that's what this company deserve. There is no professionalism, empathy or customer service. Rudeness is this company's strategy for service. Technicians don't have the knowledge to fix appliances and the company the ability to order parts in a reasonable amount of time. There are complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, FTC. I read old reviews from 4 years ago and it was the exact problem I encountered with them. Back order parts (only for them), you call other places and parts are available. You will regret calling this company for services.
I have had the pleasure to used Atchleys 2 different times to repair an older large refrigerator unit. Both times Jerry was on time and resolved the issue very quickly with no concerns for any price gouging!
I would recommend their repair service highly!!! 5 Terry Stars!!
No Problems Here – It seems others have had issues with this company however my wife and I have had a perfect experience with them the three times we dealt with them in two months.
They were polite and able to order us a part for our old dishwasher we tried to fix, well it didn't help the dishwasher so we went up and gave them the old one. We then were having a hard time installing the new dishwasher and one of their technicians actually tried to help us set it up over the phone to save us money but well we're not that skilled so we had him come out to hook it up properly. He arrived on time, was pleasant to deal with and he got our dishwasher working flawlessly.
5 stars here from us, no question about it, we'll deal with them again should the need arise.
Worst service ever – After 2 trips and $300 spent to fix a 3 year old LG refrigerator it still does not work. Tech Jerry told me to call him in the morning if I had any more problems. I called at 8:00 AM when they opened and let the service department know the refrigerator stopped working 3 hours after Jerry left. I was told they would let him know would get back to me. Not hearing by 1:00pm I called again and was told they let Jerry know already and there was nothing they could do. Finally at 4:30 PM Jerry called to say he was on his way over. He was there 10 minutes and could not find what was wrong and asked me to give until tomorrow to figure out what was wrong. I am sure he just wanted to go home since it was almost 5:00pm. Well I am on my 2nd tomorrow and nothing from anyone. $300 spent and the LG refrigerator is not fixed. Atchley's 24 hour warranty for the service call is over. So much for Atchleys' service. I would advise everyone to stay as far away from Atchleys service or products they sell in their story. Very poor business practices.
Horrible Service – I went in because my washer was broken, and I had to decide if it were worth fixing or just to buy new since it's a $1200 machine. The first person I talked to was very helpful, and indicated it was probably still under warranty. I called back with my information so they could order the parts, and was told that the parts were backordered with no ETA (minimum of 2 weeks, but implied it could be much longer by stating there were parts backordered into 2010). I called whirlpool today to see if they could do anything - I have 7 kids and NEED my washer! I was leaning towards buying a new one since it could be so long. They told me parts are available, they just needed to be ordered, so no need to spend $1200 more on new, or $450 on the used one Atchley had.
When I called Atchley back, I got the same man I talked to on the phone yesterday, and he very defensively refuted that there was any implication of a very long wait. I feel he purposely tried to steer me to buying a new or used machine with the implications that if I waited for the parts it could be a much longer wait then what I could make do with no washer.
Shady tactics, and while they used to be the only person I would order parts from or have service done with, I will never use them again, even though it will be an inconvenience since they're the only local service provider to me.
Prices are great and service is too. – Unlike the other review, I guess I can understand that a TV projector bulb is not a life threatening emergency.
Our Fridge went out on a friday. I called knowing that I would most likely have to wait till Monday at least for service. I was happily wrong. Not only did someone run by on the way home to see if it was something small, but they delivered a loaner fridge to me for the weekend. Tuesday they showed up, needed a compressor, ordered it, replaced it the next week. It would be nice if thay had it in stock, but you can't keep everything. They repaired it, and picked up the loaner. I couldn't have been happier, unless my fridge hadn't broken down. Weekend service would be nice, but in this world of "I need it now becouse I am the most important person ever" it is nice to see that some companies respect the fact that they employes cant work 24/7 and the customers do matter too. It's a hard balance to maintain. I know for a fact that the big box retail stores wouldn't have stopped by.
Horrible warranty and service after sell – 52" Mitsubishi DLP TV is great. Service is not as good. Lamp burnt out after 1yr 2months as expected. We have a 5 yr extended warranty(paid $500 extra) Lamp went out on Saturday, could not even get a warranty claim started until monday. Then after warraty claim was started, was told by Atchley, that tv would not be fixed for another 2 to 3 days. So I paid 4000.00 for a tv that I will not be able to watch for 4 to 5 days. If you buy somthing and it breaks or you need service don't expect it for at least 2 to 3 days or even longer if it breaks on the weekend.
