Horrible – Good Italian food in Orlando is rare. This Italian food is just plain horrible. You are better off making it for yourself in your own kitchen than bothering with this hole.
Poor food and poor service. – My wife and I eat out at lease 5 days a week. We had a coupon from the Entertainment coupon book from Pannullo's and decided to try it. When we went to pay using the coupon book they said they don't accept them during the weekend (and they were not nice about it either), There was no restrictions noted on the coupon. We would have never tried them without the coupon. We were scammed. The restaurant was about a 1/3 full during dinner. Now I know why. We paid $35 for the two of us for a below average meal.
thats italian? – a grease pool in the bottom of my plate and a drunk waiter -- who could ask for more? i went here years ago and don't remember it being this bad. things chnnge i guess.
Pure rudeness. – First of all, I'll be honest and say this review is NOT about the food. I didn't even get the chance to stay and eat it. The service was so bad that my boyfriend and I got up and walked out before ordering.
The hostess had zero personality and didn't even tell us to follow her, just asked how many and then walked away. Unbeknownst to us, we were supposed to follow her to our table. The waiter wasn't friendly in the least and my boyfriend even mentioned his grumpy mood to me after he brought us our menus.
The best part was that we had a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Dinner coupon that is valid through December 2008, up to a $15 value, not valid on holidays. Trust me, we read the fine print. The waiter sees the coupon and then says, "Sorry, we're actually not taking any coupons right now because of the Maitland Art Festival." Apparently they can just randomly decide when to not accept perfectly good coupons. Well, the food was overpriced as it was, so we weren't about to spend money on 2 dinners. We mentioned to him that it didn't say anywhere on the coupon that we couldn't use it, but oh well. He didn't want to hear it and just said they weren't taking them. Too bad for us. We ditched that place and went to the Cheesecake Factory.
Save your taste buds and wallet the heart ache by opening a can of Chef Boyardee‎ – I ordered the Italian simpler I get a chance to try several taste. I'm a lover of good Italian eats so my saliva glands were on overdrive waiting to the meal. When the meal arrived you and after a few bits, I head directly to the seasonings. Adding lots and lots of seasonings. Very, very bland taste. Basically olive oil on noodles. At $18, I'll be heading to Carrabbas Italian Restaurant to save a few bucks and receive a meal worth eating. If your considering this restaurant in the near future, just don't do it. I would recommend just buy a can of Chef Boyardee and a bottle of Lambrusco over Pannullo's. Save your taste buds and wallet the heart ache. Their only saving grace was that the bread was good. Maybe they should drop the Italian portion of the menu and get into the bread business. Mr. Diner
EVEN THE OWNER WAS RUDE – My mother is an authentic Italian cook. Their food is the only restuarant I've ever found in any city that comes close to hers. But here is the one problem--my table of 6 ladies were told by another waiter "If you were planning on settling up the bill, I'd encourage you to do so." We were so shocked we asked the owner/manager what was that about. He said (direct quote), "I have a more lucrative table of 10 coming in and I need that space. Plus you've been here for 2 hours, that's enough." WOW! AND HE'S THE OWNER??? It was 9:00pm and our reservations in HIS book stated 7:30pm. So he was obviously wrong. And when you are spending this much money at a restuarant, you are going to spend more time enjoying yourself than at a Wendy's or Applebees. And a "more lucrative table of ten"??? Seriously? More lucrative? Does he really have this many customers that he can be so rude? If you don't believe me, read the other 1-star rating and see how the owner treated them. STAY FAR AWAY OR YOU MAY BE TREAT THE SAME WAY. The food is not worth the rudeness! Buyer beware!
Best Italian in Orlando for the price! – I have worked in restaurants most of my life and I must say This place is pretty good. Food is good. Quality is good. There is just this one guy that works there. He just doesn't look happy to be there and he seems rude to everyone. I can't tell if he's a server or a cook or a manager because I see him doing a different job every day. Three weeks ago I saw him make a customer cry. Now that customer might have been overy emotional but still. I do have to give this place high regards because other than him, the food, the service and the price are all very good. Just need to send that guy through some sort of counselling and I only say that because I have been going there times a month for about three years and he has obviously been there a long time. Last time we were there our server, a very nice young lady, gave us phenominal service and went above and beyond to accomodate us. If you go in on a Friday or Saturday night call ahead because I have made that mistake and there has been a 45+ minute wait. Also sometimes if they are not busy they will close a little early, as I found out. At the time I was mad and then I realized that it makes sense to close if there is no business and save the money. I would probably do the same. Ultimately I give this place my highest regards. I'm sure home cooking is better... if you're from Italy. But this is a great compromise and with rustic tuscan murals and the candle light it is very pretty. Hopefully one day we will go there and that guy won't be there. But maybe every chicken lays a bad egg. Go there for the food. Go there fo the ambiance. Go there for the great service. But if you see a really big mean man stay out of his way!
THE BEST OF PARK AVE – Pannuulo's has been serving my family and friends for 15 years and keeps getting better, There is no turnover of staff and the same ownership has been working the floor for the entire time. If you are tired of getting ripped off every time you eat out and oferpaying for small portions then this is the place to go. The take many different discounts and still you get hige portions and great quality. I am only sad that they are so popular we sometime have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table but go to the wine room next door. The place is a warm cozy restaurant that feels like home. ENJOY
EAT YOUR FOOD OR SHUT UP! – My wife and I have dined at Pannullo's many times via the Entertainment book two-for-one program. Her favorite has always been Chicken Franco, with sherry wine, onions, mushrooms & artichoke hearts. She always orders the dish without the last two items and has always found it delicious. However, this time she took one taste and immediately disliked it. She normally wouldn't complain about such a thing, but she told the waiter that something was wrong with the dish. The waiter suggested that it was due to her alteration of the recipe, but he would go to the kitchen and check. He brought it back and asked her to try again. She still didn't like it, so I asked if she could order something else, to which the waiter replied that they couldn't take back any dishes with substitutions. I sampled it and found it to taste like diluted vinegar. At this point the owner comes by and asks if she liked it, but she still insists that the sauce is not the same (it used to be red, but now it's not. Why is that?). Could the wine be bad? He moves off the subject. "Sorry you didn't like it. How about a canoli?" She says no thanks and he walks off, satisfied. The check comes and both meals are on the bill. The owner returns again and my wife says, "I've always recommended this place to people but not after this." Now he gets angry, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE. YOU'VE GOT THE ENTERTAINMENT CARD. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT(bear in mind, she didn't eat). She says, "The difference is you're yelling at me." He gets up. I DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS. I've been in business 14 years and I'll be here 14 more. SO GO TELL EVERYONE WHAT A J*RK I AM. So here I am to tell you, even if you like their food (as we have), the owner is a rude and inconsiderate j*rk. Entertainment members especially are looked down upon. Take your business elsewhere. Don't give this bum your money.
Disappointing Italian Cuisine – We went to Pannullo's for dinner after hearing some positive reviews. I have to say the food was extremely disappointing. It tasted as though the food had been cooked and then frozen. Maybe it was bad timing as it was the day after Christmas, but all the dishes we ordered were so bland tasting. The Calamari had no taste to resemble squid, the pasta with chicken had a piece of chicken that tasted as though it had not a bit of seasoning and was so incredibly tasteless. I hate to talk bad about a restaurant in my home town, but I would challenge someone to please tell me that this place is better than the experience I had.
