"SHUT IT DOWN!" – OMG! I don't even think this place deserves a rating. 7pm... I was working & wanted a 'snack' and was in the back parking lot to this strip mall area. I knew of Vingh's. Never been there. (Now know why!) LOL... I walked in the back door and saw all the staff watching some soap opera on the big TV mounted to the wall in the dining room. There were two people seated at one table eating. That's it! I asked how the summer rolls are and the guy at the counter said, "oh, they verrry goood." hahaha I only wanted to try them since I never get summer rolls anywhere but Lil Saigon. I paid almost $4, went to my truck and threw them out after one bite. Shrimp was frozen & preserved. Tasted like ammonia. Skin was dry and rubbery. I had to spit it out after getting lock jaw from chewing so hard! Peanut sauce tasted like crap & looked like baby kaa kaa! yuck... I was like, Oh hell no... I went down the street, walked into Lil Saigon and told Shawn to never ever let me go to tht place again. Shawn was gracious & didn't bash the competition (NOT), but Vingh's should be "Shut Down" as Gordon Ramsey would say. LOL! What a joke. I wonder who fronts the place and how they pay the bills. I also did not see ANY cats in the back parking lot. Hmmm? Save yourself the torture... Stay away!!!
Worst Dining Experience EVER!! – We decided to try this place because we purchased a restaurant dot com coupon and are always up for trying new places around town. From the minute we walked in, everything about this place was terrible. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived at 7pm. The staff was all sitting at the tables watching the basketball game on tv. It smelled of disinfectant cleaner but didn't appear they liked to use disinfectant in the restaurant. Everything looked dingy. I don't usually expect eveything to be 100% in decor at a Vietnamese restaurant but this was just not good. The waiter knew NOTHING to answer our questions about the beers. He had to ask the other staff who were disinterested in anything but the game. We felt like we were a nuisance to them and we were their ONLY customers! Then to the food- I ordered a soup that the waiter suggested, a curry chicken with coconut milk soup, and the chicken seemed was unidentifiable. Big pices with bones and was not the color or texture of ANY chicken I have ever eaten. I had to pull out all the pices just to attempt to eat the rest. The taste was not good. I think there were chunks of sweet potatoes in the soup but did't expect it. I only ate a little just to fill myself up enough to not feel completely ripped off but hated every bite. My boyfriend had the beef vermicelli and he said the beef melted in his mouth- not in the good way. The texture was off. He din't feel like it was beef either. Very little beef on the entree, mostly vermicelli and that was disappointing. Even the fish sauce tasted raunchy- I know it's fish sauce and should taste a certain way but nothing like I ever tasted at our other favorite Vietnamese restaurants. All around, it was a waste of money to visit this place and we knew we'd get nowhere complaining to the awful staff so we just left dissatisfied and know we will NEVER go back. Little Saigon will get our business even without the coupon.

Huge menu of mouth-watering, unusual dishes – Vinh's is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Orlando. It offers you a choice:
You could eat there every day for three months and never eat the same thing twice. Big menu. Great if you like to try something new.
You could eat your favorite dishthe lotus rootlets with shrimp appetizer and the chicken curry with vermicellievery time.
Either way, you're sure to find copious amounts of excellent food. All the portions serve at least two people. It's also cheap, one of the few places in town where you can get dinner for $6.
But do ask if the shrimp are fresh when they're busy. One time they did serve my salad with shrimp that had definitely been frozen. I didn't have the temerity to stand up and yell, "Frozen shrimp? Where do you think we are? Publix?" That is an option, though.
Very Good Authentic Vietnamese – There are probably a dozen Vietnamese restaurants on the 2 mile stretch of Colonial Dr. that locals call "Little Vietnam", ive tried several but always return to Vihn's. I highly recommend the Tomato Tofu Dish im not sure what the actual name is but they might know what youre talking about if you ask for it (i think its under the vegetable dishes). An absolute MUST are the Spring Rolls.. they are cold soft nearly transluscent rolls filled with rice noodles, mint leaves & shrimp & pork....i get them without the pork & shrimp b/c im vegetarian.. they are served with a peanut dipping sauce & they are AMAZING!! Theyre great on a hot day because theyre so refreshing & they are probably pretty healthy since theyre not fried. Everything ive had at this restaurant is good, so go with what your taste buds dictate.
great authentic food – Probably my favorite Vietnamese spot in the area us locals fondly call "Little Vietnam". I was introduced to this place by a Vietnamese friend.... who helped me go through the intimidatingly HUGE menu.
My personal favorite is a fried rice dish, I think its called Com Tay Cam... fried rice served in a little clay/cast iron pot. Absolutely delicious, brimming with chicken, pork, chinese sausage, squid, and mung bean sprouts.
I'd also suggest, Pho (beef noodle soup with the works), egg noodle soup with pork, shrimp and crab, and rice vermicelli with BBQ pork. They also have this wonderful drink like dessert made from coconut milk, mung bean paste, little gelatin strips and lots of ice, very refreshing on a hot day.
I've tried just about every Vietnamese restaurant in that area, and considering food freshness, friendliness of staff, and cleanliness, I like Vinh's the best.
