I needed a motor for my truck, they sold me one for $500, took it to my mechanic in Winter Springs, he said it was the wrong motor, took it back to East Colonial, they exchanged it for another, mechanic tried to start it after installing it and found out it had two dead cylinders, ($250 labor for the motor swap, $50 for oil and antifreeze). Called them and they said they would exchange it again, they gave me another motor (after I paid my mechanic $75 for his time and travel to take it back and pick up another one for me), and that motor, after another $250 for labor to swap it out, antifreeze and oil and filter again, was bad also. I had to pay my mechanic another $100 to pull the motor again so I could return and they finally refunded my original purchase price, but not any money I spent on labor or parts. Then they gave me a check, I paid with cash, and the bank charged me 10% to cash it because I did not have an account there.
The experience with East Colonial Autoparts was great... The staff is professional, careful, conscientious and friendly... I recommend this place.
Place has wasted my time. – So, I had a car. Car needed new motor. Found this place online through carpartsdotcom with a listing for a motor for my particular car. Guy on the phone was pretty straight forward and gave me a killer deal on the engine and even had it shipped to me for a really great price. Well after having my poor old dad bust his Azz to swap an engine out and into my car, turns out the motor is complete garbage. I'm now waiting to see if i can get a refund for 2k or my money back.
Horrible customer service! – I will cast no judgments, I will simply tell my story:
I sent my girlfriend to these people for a part for her car. They gave a part for a completely different car despite her telling them multiple times her make and model. After calling to report the mistake, they said to come back for a refund. When we arrived they denied us a refund, claiming they only do exchanges. They then sent us to a junkyard down the road, where the mechanic was very nice and helpful thankfully. He told us we were being overcharged, that we weren't the first people they'd done this to, and that we should demand a new part. We followed his advice since we couldn't get our money back, but the new had to be shipped from Tampa. We are still awaiting arrival. The entire time there, we were treated poorly, argued with, and frustrated by how we were treated.
