My favorite Disney resort – I've been lucky enough to stay at this resort twice: once when it first opened and once in July 2007. The quality hasn't dropped in the slightest. The lobby is amazing- pictures just don't do it justice. A bubbling stream starts in the lobby, flows outside into a river, over a waterfall, into the pool, then out into the lake (ok, so it doesn't really do that- but they do a great job at creating the fantasy). The rooms are beautiful and many have the great view of the pool area and lake. It's nice to sit on the balcony and relax with a drink above the kids running around the pool. Nothing beats this resort at night. It's just spectacular to look at. Every staff member we encountered was perfect- polite, friendly, and able to answer any questions. If you're going to Disney, please try this resort: it's Disney at their best.

Inspired by the rugged Pacific Northwest, this resort features regional cuisine, wild flowers and a few geysers. – The Scene
Disney has re-created the rugged west in the heart of Florida. The exterior of the 728-room Wilderness Lodge is modeled after Yellowstone's historic Old Faithful Inn. Ideas for the interior were taken from numerous great western lodges and, of course, creative Disney minds.

The Details
Memorable features include multicolored wood flooring, giant teepee chandeliers and a massive, 82-foot-tall, three-sided stone fireplace. A volcanic meadow features pools, brooks and geysers that spray water up to a 100 feet in the air, all adjacent to the swimming pools and white sand beaches. The lodge restaurants carry on the theme with names like Roaring Forks (breakfast and fast food) and Artist Point (Pacific Northwest cuisine). A rocky stream leads you to a beautiful pool surrounded by wild flowers and pine trees where the Trout Pass Bar is located.

Great Place for a Family Trip – Very helpful staff, beautiful place to stay, rooms are a little bit small, but besides that the lodge is great. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Orlando.

DISNEY LOVERS OPINION – I have personally stayed at every hotel on the Disney property in Florida and California. My favorite is WILDENESS LODGE.

It is based on a northwest territory lodge from the ealry 1900`s and the treatment of the staff and the extra`s available to a couple or family at this hotel cannot be matched anywhere. If you ever wanted a dream vacation that you will want to do again and again this is the place to stay and go to. The best rooms are the suites they cost more but are worth it. If you want to go cheaper ask for the standard room and if none are available when you get there, they will bump you up to a waterview room free, I got upgraded to the presidential suite once from a standard room because they were booked solid. Like I said the best service anywhere.

Disney Excellence at Work – This hotel is breathtaking once you enter the lobby. We have stayed here at Christmas time and it is incredible to see the rustic trees and green wreaths throughout the resort. I highly recommend the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the lobby for dinner if you have kids. It is a very kid friendly atmosphere and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. The waiters are full of personality and will make your visit unique and memorable. I was so taken by this hotel, I bought a vacation club membership at the resort.

Breathtaking! – The Wilderness Lodge is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. It's great to head back to such a beautiful and serene hotel to relax. The lobby and grounds are breathtaking.

The hotel features one of the best resort restaurants as well, Artist's Point.

Beautiful property – This Disney property is absolutely beautiful with mahogany and ebony pillars carved with African motifs and decorated with jungle accents. Yet it manages to forgo blatant kitschiness for a more elegant, understated resort feel. The high-ceilinged lobby stretches to a spectacular view of the grounds by way of a glass wall at the far end of the lobby.
