Beautiful Merchandise, Supreme Service! – Long Version: I just came back for my second purchase in two years, and the experience here was just as great as it was before, if not better! I came in with a very specific request and they didn't have an exact match for what I wanted. It didn't matter; they immediately sent one of their employees out and came back within minutes with exactly what I was looking for, which I though would be impossible. They then had the gems put into settings and I was out the door in an hour. An hour! And, with a very fair price. Plus, while I was waiting, they gave me tasty cookies and candy treats. Seriously, where else can you have an experience like this? I highly recommend Inta Gems, Diamonds & Jewelry. Check'em out!
Selection, Service, Value... – Nobody makes the process of buying jewelry easier and more comfortable. Inta Gems has become an extension of our own family, serving my brothers, parents, cousins and aunts and uncles. If you want to find great prices, and a chance to learn about gems, this is the place to be. I just bought beautiful diamond earrings for my wife, as well as a ruby ring. Their service is beyond excellent, and their prices are fantastic. I highly recommend them!!
The BEST Gem Shop EVER! The Sweetest People! – This is the best gem store in Los Angeles Jewelry district, whether you are looking for quality diamonds or rare and unique gemstones! I was looking for a Brazilian Aquamarine that was up to the highest standards for my fiance and, believe me, I did my research, and visited many many different jewelry stores. The warmth of the family-owned business at INTA Gems was incomparable.
Great Service, Prices... and A Great Family Owned Business – I first started my shopping experience a little over a year ago, and did a lot of research before hand on engagement rings. After doing that, I started my arduous task of visiting multiple jewelers such as Kay Jewelers, Robbins Brothers, Zales, and various Jewelery Marts. The process took at least a month, to figure out what the stores were offering, what really mattered to me, and what would make my fiance love her ring. What I realized was that many of these stores were trying to sell me on "Big Diamonds" which were already pre-set. Looking closer into the rings, I realized that while the diamond was larger, the quality was so poor and I could not understand how they could sleep at night trying to sell me an SI-1/SI-2. The clarity plain out sucked. So, now I had a new dilemma, and that was to shop for the setting and diamond separately. I wanted my fiance to have a good quality stone, not one that would even bother me.
So, back on the internet to do more reading about diamond grading, or basically the 4 C's. I learned a ton of information in about 2 weeks and was again, ready to tackle the stores. So, I went back this time, knowing what I wanted... D-F Color, VS1 Minimum Clarity, 1.0CT minimum, Excellent Cut. I even went as far as learning about Depth, Girdle, Table, Symmetry, all of which contribute to having the ideal diamond for my fiance. After all, she deserves nothing but the best.
I decided to go to LA as I've heard so many good things about the Jewelery District (aka Diamond District). I visited a couple places that got some pretty good reviews. They were all pretty good places, but only one of them made me feel extremely comfortable in light of such an lengthy and stressful process. Needless to say, I purchased my fiance's ring at Inta Gems. The owners were extremely friendly, and their son, Steve helped me out. I looked at a couple loose stones, and had him running back and forth to get me the diamond I was comfortable with.
The overall process was a back and forth, back and forth... not because of the folks at Inta Gems, but because I was a very picky buyer. I had to get things just right, and the diamond had to be perfect along with the setting. They were very patient with me, and after several hours (yes... I said hours), I finally came to the selection. I chose a diamond and a classic Platinum Tiffany setting to house the diamond. WOW! One step was over and done with... But now it came to pricing. They presented me with a price, which I took into consideration. I thought about it, and actually even took about an hour away from the store. I came back, made a counter offer, and well... we closed out on the deal. Some cash exchanged hands... and I was off to the races to propose to her 1 month later. By the way guys, the ring was STUNNING. I ended up getting a ring, that was actually bigger than I had originally intended. SHE is worth it... Best part... I got a great deal on some nice Bling. Let's just say, to this very day... she is still getting compliments on her ring. In fact, we went food tasting this past weekend, and a couple people complemented her on the ring.
By the way, with our wedding coming up soon (July 2010) we needed to get wedding bands. Guess who I turned to...? You got it... Inta Gems. Again, they were patient with me and my fiance, as I brought her in this time. We looked at several bands and my fiance finally chose the one she wanted. We exchanged some numbers, and in the end, we got a great deal again! Thanks Inta Gems... You have made our shopping experience one to remember. Be on the lookout, I'll be sure to send my friends to you, as I know that you provide Great Service, and Great Pricing. The only bad news, is that they might ask me to go with them... =)
Guys, if you are looking for an engagement ring, or if you are looking for wedding bands, GO TO INTA GEMS. They are great, and the service is unmatched!!!
The absolute best service in Los Angeles~ – Service is excellent! They know everything there is to know about Most of all they make certain you're going to get what you need! Prices are very reasonable too!
Best Shopping Experience EVER! – Shopping in Los Angeles isn't easy. You either fall victim to a retail chain that has everything figured out for you (including how to take your money) - or you go to a privately owned business, with the risk of not knowing what to expect.
I was looking for a nicely designed Sapphire ring, trying to match a design my then girlfriend and I had looked at and she loved. Everything I do is computer based, and a trip to downtown scared me, believe it or not - because "Jewelry District" sounded so not "internet" technology.
But there are some things you can buy online, and some that you can't. A ring is a 3 dimensional object, with sparkle, colors, shine, clarity and depth that my computer monitor just cannot accurately reproduce.
A trip to a local store was in order. So I decided to email the ring we came up with online to a few retailers in the Jewelry district.
Only two responded, and one of them was Peter (Young) from Inta Gems. I am in Marketing, and I recognize when people want to push something on you and when they don't. Peter's reply told me, go see him. Friendly, interested in my project , prompt.
Well, my expectations were even exceeded. I met Peter, and his parents, owners of Inta Gems. I got offered a glass of water on that hot day and Leche candy right off the bat - and a warm welcome.
Peter started helping me with selecting the stone and his mother looked for the ring design, based on what I had emailed. The selection was great, and I felt in no rush or obligation to buy.
Also, their eye for design and quality (what actually looks "good") was right on with what we had in mind - and I think you need someone on your side that understands what you are looking for.
This was a new thing to me (looking at rings) and I really had fun. And then we found the exact thing I was looking for - a really nice Sapphire stone and a slim, modern 18 K band with small, cute diamond stones. I just knew my now fiance would love it :). And boy she did. I hear about it every day - it's just nice to make someone happy with a gift!
Guys, it's like us getting the newest Mac Book Pro - times 3. Joy factor - and it will never need any upgrades ;)s !!!
So what about the price? Well it was time to meet daddy - who takes care of price issues. He too was extremely friendly (and funny), with a great attitude. He gave me an excellent deal - a great discount on top of a discount - which made this the perfect deal.
Setting the stone took about 40 minutes, and that time felt like 5 minutes - instead of leaving to get a bite, I stayed and chatted with the family - about their business, Peters amazing design work for the Miss California Diamond Crown, how I met my girl, and life in general.
That's why this was not just an amazing ring buying experience, but to me the best buying experience I had in Los Angeles in the 8 years since I have been here. I left with a joyful positive feeling in my gut I hadn't felt in a long time, perhaps also in anticipation of my girlfriends reaction to it. Well, she was deeply touched by it - and the ring has something with it you can't see but I know is there. It comes with the positive energy of the Young family.
This is the first review I write on a business, and it was an immense pleasure to do that.
By the way, we are getting our marriage license today ;)
Dazzling! – The folks at Inta Gems made the stressful process of choosing a diamond engagement ring easy and pleasant. They were all very friendly (in a genuine way, not that wheedling salesperson way) and well informed. I got a quality ring at a reasonable price and will go back to them for all future jewelry needs. First rate!
Engagement Ring Experts – I purchased a round cut diamond for my girlfriend's (hopefully soon-to-be fiance!!! hot sauce!!!) engagement ring. The extraordinary family owned and operated Inta Gems was incredibly hospitable, knowledgeable and amiable while I was making my decision. They're not only genuine jewelry experts but also an amazing family, and I enjoyed conversing with them about their current endeavors in the community.
Peter and his beautiful mother assisted me in discovering the perfect diamond for the center of the three stone ring. During the selection process, Peter's father gave me two glasses of water and a fruit snack. I don't usually purchase jewelry, so the extra hydration definitely impeded a potential de-hydration attack that could have been provoked by all the sparkly characteristics and monetary demands of diamonds. We also had an insightful discussion on the status of international diamond mining. Inta Gems is passionate about ethical trade, as I am, and is committed to purchasing diamonds from fair sources.
Peter, his parents and his brothers all possess a diverse array of skills that can facilitate virtually any jewelry purchase. I whole-heartedly suggest that your first jewelry exploration should be at Inta Gems.
Great place to buy the ring of your dreams! – I'm the maid of honor for my sister who just recently got engaged. I went with her fiance to buy her engagement ring at Inta Gems and it was magnificent! Not only were the staff friendly, but they gave us a step by step educational breakdown of the four Cs (cut, color, clarity, and carat weight). The staff was super friendly. They even gave out tasty candy treats and water! And my sister's fiance had a set budget, so they were able to work within his budget. Here's how the process works:
1. They started off showing us the various loose certified diamonds. All of their loose stones were high-quality. We just told them the shape, carat weight, and budget. They pulled out a few diamonds and gave us a one by one breakdown of each one. We also got to see firsthand what a diamond looks like under magnification to view the clarity and color. One of the gemologists, Steve, explained that it was extremely important to make sure you get a certified diamond because it lists all the imformation of the diamond.
2. Next, after we chose the perfect diamond, we looked through the settings. There was an enormous selection of engagement settings! They had traditional solitaires, three stone rings, and other antique-looking rings.
3. Last, after choosing the proper diamond and ring setting, the process to make a complete ring only took an hour and a half! They also resized the ring.
All in all, the experience was very educational. They taught me and my sister's fiance the fundamentals of diamonds, metal types for rings, etc. My sister's ring was a GIA certified, D color, and SI2 clarity round brilliant cut diamond weighing 1.25 ct. She had it set in a platinum setting with small round and princess diamonds on the sides. Accompanied with the ring and GIA certificate was an appraisal signed by their company's gemologist, Steve. He explained that the appraisal should be used for insurance purposes. The end result was terrific! I love her ring! It sparkles at every angle! And she is extremely ecstatic about it. Inta Gems is a great find within Los Angeles' Jewelry District. Not only did they have high quality jewelry, but their prices were a lot lower than jewelry stores at the mall. My sister's fiance and I looked at jewelry retail stores like Robbins Brothers, Zales, and Kay Jewelers, but I felt the diamonds and engagment rings at Inta Gems were of better quality. It didn't look mass-produced.
I'm sure everyone else who goes to Inta Gems will have a great experience too. Even if you don't buy anything right away, you'll leave with a head full of knowledge.
