They don't want your business – This place is the worst, they treat their customers horribly, like they cant be bothered with serving you. 1 1/2 hrs. waiting on a quiet night with lots of empty tables and still no sign of our burgers!!! The owner's response when we said we weren't going to wait anymore?? "Fine I'll give 'em to someone else". The waitress even said she hated the place, that should tell you something. I'll never go there again

Dirty Restaurant & Rude Employees - "I CAN KICK YOUR ASSES" – I was in Le Tub with my mother in law, and 9 months pregnant wife. We ordered 2 beer, one coke(for my wife), seafood salad, and a burger, after waiting 25 min on a dirty table which had food left overs from the previous clients. We placed our order, then started to wait. It was more than one hour wait time after the first 25 min, then I saw they were serving almost the same food we ordered to the next table, they placed their order after us.

I asked our waiter to explain this situation, then another waiter who (Steve) was serving to next table jumped in and start to yell at us. I asked him to let me listen our waiter's explanation first, he kept yelling at us..he yelled "I CAN KICK YOUR ASSES OUT" .. I could not believe my ears. Our waiter kept apologizing for his behavior, and offered us to cover the drinks while we were leaving the restaurant. I paid for the drinks and left with my pregnant wife, and her mother who came from Europe a couple days ago.

What a night!

I have been living in Hallandale/Hollywood area for 10 years. I know how restaurant business work from my own experiences. This is the worst behavior I have ever seen...

Thanks

Service- Mean, Rude, Unfriendly and servers little slow in the head. – Waited an hour for a table. Got a table, waited 30 minutes and left. No service. Asked two servers for menus and they said someone would be with us when they could. NObody came. In fact, two others tables came and left while we waited. Rude unfriendly service. We left with the 10 bucks the table before us left as a tip. Though it was worth it since we had to bus our own table!

Maybe that's why your still a server at 45.

IT'S A BEACH BAR PEOPLE – It may be damp or even wet, It is mostly outside so there are insects & birds. In Florida insects are EVERYWHERE especially outside. The place is made from flotsam & jetsom the owner found on the beach, including the tables & benches so it is a rough keys type atmosphere. You can get there by boat & this is when cold beer tastes best, - there is NO draft beer.

If you're a clean freak, if you're in a hurry, if you don't like insects, lizards or birds, if you don't like to wait, if you want your behind kissed, if you want fine furniture, crystal, silver and gourmet food, DON'T come to LE TUB.

They do have food & yes it's expensive. They have a kitchen that is 4'x6' - maybe. With ONE cook & ONE bartender & a huge local customer base so everyone has to wait. Everyone.

They do NOT take reservations, credit cards or large parties. They do NOT have HIGH CHAIRS. They are a beach bar.

The servers are overworked and underpaid so they do not have time to do anything but take your order & bring your food. If you want water you have to get up & get it yourself from a huge orange cooler on a table in the garden. It is cold & it is free.

I personally have only occasionally had to wait an hour for food & that was on a Friday or Saturday night, a Sunday afternoon, or a holiday. You have to wait at many places at these times. Le Tub is a pleasant place to wait as it's on the water & you can watch the boats pass by while being caressed by soft Caribbean breezes. You can relax & watch spectacular sunsets while drinking yummy marguerites.

I have had great burgers & fabulous steaks. I have also had dry burgers & tough steaks. No one gets it right 100% of the time.

I had to laugh about the tourist trap comment. Clearly the tourists don't care for for the place but we are locals & my husband and I have been going to LE UB for 20 years & we love it. It's a place to slow waay down, relax & enjoy life.

Adjust your attitude – Nobody at LeTub claims to have the best anything. And that's precisely the problem. People come from all around expecting a "best" experience and leave dissapointed. I don't blame the staff for the attitude, they give back what they get. I've been going to LeTub for years, and it was definitely better before the hoopla. but that is because you get out-of -towners and oprahfiles coming in expecting the staff to care what they think. Bottom line; the bar did not ask to be written up. people come for "romantic dinners" and " it's supposed to be the best" or " i have a party of twelve", and my favorite;" do you have a high chair?". You will be treated rudely.

For the past couple of years my buddies and I make sport of watching people get treated badly and getting upset at the staff, the wait or the crowds. this has always been a place to have many drinks, chiil on the water and MAYBE, MAYBE; order a bowl of chili or a burger as you are drinking. it's primarily a bar. Period.

Now people call to make reservations(ha,ha!), ask about Valet parking( ha, ha, ha!), pay by credit card(there's an ATM outside!), and then complain loudly;"but, Oprah said...."

If you want service, If you want your tail kissed; go to any number of corporate chain restaurants. That's what they do. When you complain that the LeTub staff don't care about service, Heck you're right!

As to the burgers, the're fine. I've made better. But certain times, with the right amount of drinks behind you. and if the weather is nice and breezy, and you are sitting out on the water.Life couldn't get much better.

Le Tub Of Sh*! – On a vacation to South Florida my girlfriend and I decided to go experience Le Tub, what the local Floridians have called a classic. Now here is where our vacation goes south. We showed up about 3 in the after noon on a Tuesday, much to our amazement, a well touted restaurant that sits on the water, was completely out of all seafood products! It seems odd to me to run out of seafood when your establishment sits on the water. As I reloaded my culinary menu in my head, i decided to try their signature burger, 13 oz sirloin. The reason why I searched my brain for so long was because the service was as slow as a snail on a pile of salt. At this point we should have sent out a search team for our server. It was thirty minutes before he even spoke to us or saw us again after he served our drinks. The odd part is that we sat next to the kitchen. After the 30 minutes was up and we had been out of drinks for 20 of those 30 minutes, we asked for water and our server, a term that loosely described his position, told us to get it ourselves. 22 more minutes go by before we get our burger. Now here is the sad part. I am a chef for a fortune 500 company and was amazed that it takes 52 minutes to cook a burger! As I watched the cook play around, sing songs, and take smoke breaks, I contemplated making the damn burger myself. At this point we are eating the burger on an untoasted bun and little to no seasoning on it. This was an all around joke of an expereince and the owner should be appalled at the service and quality of food that came out. I say this because no one asked us how our food was. if you are looking for a restaurant that charged entirely too much for their product, pays no attention to you and your willing to be bored out of your mind for an hour, this is le spot for you.

Better Burgers Out There! – I went to Le Tub with my husband for a romantic lunch. We both ordered the SIrlion Burger well done. The meat came to us burnt and the burger was just plain sloppy. For an $11 dollar hamburger I was gravely disappointed. My husband ordered a bowl of chill as well. He liked it somewhat but I thought it was bland and needed more salt. The fries were super hot so much so that by the time they cooled down I was halfway through with my burger and was too full to even bother eating them. The only thing I really enjoyed was my pina-colda. In total we spent #53.00 and I had wish we went to McDonalds instead!
