We have had a great experience with this company. If you pay your bill on time there is no problem. If you owe more after they repo your car it's because you have to pay for the towing away, storage and any other fees incurred. Did you really expect them to tow the car away and there be no fees because of it? wow.
This company should be investigated for predatory lending practices. The BBB also needs to flag this company for having terrible customer service. From what I can see, I'm not the only customer that has had a horrible experience with them.
I've had a loan with them for a used car for a couple of years now. Yes, I had bad credit, but had no idea this was a shady bank. Had I known their tactics and been fully informed of the outrageous lending practices by this company, I would never have financed through them.
I was paying just over $400 a month with 24% interest on a $13,000 loan, they repossessed the car after being behind and now they want $14,000 to give me the car back, even though I've paid more than half the loan they want more than 100% of the original balance!
they have been good to me – Although I have read multiple negative ratings about this company I have yet to have a negative experience with them...The interest is high but, I knew what I was getting into and had no choice...my payments are always on time but, the one month I had an issue I was able to put a payment on back of the loan which did cost 15.00...but was much better than paying my 400.00 payment and a late fee of 20.00...they gave me no hassle and we eager to help me. the only issue I do have is that my payments are due on the 12 and they are already calling me on the 13 which is quite annoying especially since there a a 10 day grace...but if you make your payment on time you wont have an issue with them.
The Worst Customer Service! – Summit Financial.... Wow where do I start?!? When my husband I first got my new car they told us our payment dates would be on the first of every month we set it up that way because my husband is in the military. So on the 20th they call and leave a very very rude message saying that we were late! I called them and spoke to a lady named Maggie who is the rudest person I have ever spoke to cussing to a paying customer is not how its supposed to go! Anyhow coime to find out after faxing the paper several times of what are payment date was supposed to be and my car almost getting re poed! It finally got situated and it was there error not MINE! I didnt even get an apology and they still havent not fixed it on our credit either! SUMMIT IS A JOKE and we are looking to get our car refinaced some where else... if a car lot suggest them... RUN!
Summit Financial- Home of the A$$HOLES! – I was in a rush to get a car because my husband and I separated. I wasn't really putting any money down so the car dealership "worked" with me and got me finance through Summit.
Worst mistake I have EVER MADE! They are disgustingly RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL!
Who hasn't ever fallen behind on their bills??? Especially after being laid off and pregnant! I called them before my payment was due and told them I would be unable to make a payment. They called me EVERYDAY! They called my references. It was pure TORTURE!!! Julio Rojas, I thought he was a nice guy, he would call me all nice and ask how my child was doing etc. Then one day he surely showed me what he was about and hung up the phone on me because I told him I wasn't going to make a payment OVER the PHONE!!
Who does that to a CUSTOMER??
They do allow you to put a payment in the back however it is at a charge of $15.00, they do allow you to pay with a credit card but it is a charge of $10.00. You even don't get a statement to know where exactly you are in your loan! Believe me when I say that nothing they do is in YOUR BEST interest, it's theirs! I have a year left on my car, and I will never forget what Clara told me, "we are a high risk finance company. We can take your car after being a day late."
It is what it is... – Summit is a decent company in my opinion. They give second chances when others are not willing to take on the "risk" of someone with credit issues. Sure, you're going to pay a higher interest rate, but at least they will give people a chance. I agree with a previous user about the statements. I would like to receive a statement showing my principle and interest paid and what is remaining on my loan. I also wish that I could set up automatic payments or at least have the convenience of paying my note online. Oh well... it is what it is. I'm fortunate that I was able to get a loan because of my credit history. Thank you Summit Financial!
very rude – rude, rude, rude, ive never been late on payments i am a great custermer i could not understand her broken english thats not my fault. everytime i told her i was sorry ,but i could not undestand her she would stick me on hold and then come back after a min or two ,and say understand me now? why would i ever refer a friend to a place that treats it good paying custermers like that they tripped over the hundred to pick up the doller....,she was an older lady who would not give me her name in the payoff dept....
Always friendly and professional. – Never a problem and now that they accept credit cards it is much more convenient. Everyone has always been friendly and professional. As far as interest rate and terms of payments, I agreed to pay when I bought my car. I am thankful that they took me on as a client. If I am late, I call and let them know. They even allow one missed payment every 12 months and add that payment on to the end of the loan. Call them if you have a problem, of course there is just so much they can do, but within reason they can be helpful. It is what it is. Wish I was paying less but, I caused my own bad credit.
Real People – My experiance has been pretty good. No problems at all. Yes, you do have a higher interest rate which is to be expected with a secondary financing company. It's somewhat of an inconvience not to be able to make a payment online, or with an automated telephone service. Overall pretty good though. I haven't had any experiences with rude employees. I've spoken with a few differant people there. I'm chronically late with payments to them. As soon as you're a day late and more, they call you 1 - 2 times a day. That's their job, to get their money. When I do speak to them to make a payment, I'm just honest with them. Nobody wants to hear excuses. They'll work with you as long as you're up front , and follow through with what you tell them you're going to do. They talk to you like a real person, and understand that people have difficult times. That's why most of us are with a secondary company anyway, right! I'm not saying the other consumers that are telling their experiences are wrong. I might just be lucky, and haven't run into the rude employees they are talking about. :)
An Honest Opinion. Please Read – Summit Financial is no better than a predatory loan company. They should really be investigated by the BBB. I was duped by the dealer to finance with Summit. I received a call from Julio who does the electronic payments Julio called me, and demanded that a payment on the spot. I quote his words" Bro, you need to pay now"!!! Since he is a representive of his institution. Who has no Professional courtesy at all. I have always paid on time with Summit. Until, I was 2 weeks behind on payment. The holiday season, and other bills. Set me back a little. I received a letter threatening to repossess my car, and Summit was going to an attorney to sue me. Yes for 2 weeks, not 2 months!!!As aforementioned due to some past credit problems. What gives Summit employees the right to talk to people in this cruel manner? All I can say is if anyone reading this message. Ask yourself this. Is dealing with unrealistic (borderline illegal terms), and dealing with employees with no social grace really worth financing a more than likely substandard vehicle? Think about it. That price is way too high to pay.
