My girlfriend takes me here when she's on Atkins because she says the fries are so terrible they don't tempt her. The burgers are fine though. Not great, but fine. Salads are sub par. Not my favorite place at all.
Really well cooked burgers. The burgers here are are gourmet to your liking. Although this is not a build your burger place, the burgers they have built for you are already good. Plus bottomless fries.
Best burgers, excellent customer service – When we first arrived we parked in the free parking garage which is directly behind the restaurant which has a backdoor entrance, which was very convenient. We were promtly sat and noticed how clean the place was kept which is very important when it comes to deciding where to have my meals. The food was very tasty and they give you a choice between beef, chicken and a vegitarian burger. Service was excellent too. I highly recommend eating at Islands as I always have a great experience there.
If Gilligan opened a burger joint, this would be it. – The Scene
With thatched umbrellas, photos of crashing waves, stuffed toucans and a soundtrack of twangy '60s surf-rock, it doesn't take a genius to figure out this chain's theme. Yep, it's beach, burgers and plenty of kitsch. The jovial atmosphere and service (not to mention a full-service bar) lures lunching business folk, beer-drinking college students and families with food-throwing toddlers.
Like the decor, the menu is a no-brainer--sandwiches, salads, fries and burgers. Served in a basket with fork and knife, thick beef patties come grilled to order with lettuce, tomato and any variety of extras. For a lighter bite, try one of the soft tacos. Filled with either fish or chicken, the wraps are inauthentic, but tasty. Yaki tacos are stuffed with teriyaki chicken, chives, pineapple and jack cheese. Whatever you order, don't forget the fries. These hand-cut, super-crispy sticks are addicting, especially when dipped in creamy ranch dressing.
Great Burgers, Fantastic Bartenders – Don't go to an Islands to expect culinary masterpieces. Its a hyped up burger joint...but with really good burgers. They have regular beef burgers or chicken. Great toppings on each. They also have an assortment of pretty good appetizers. I would say the best part of Islands are their burgers and bartenders. Or at least at this location. If you're just killing time waiting for a booth, step up to the bar and order a drink. Any mixed drink will come out well. If your not sure, just ask to see what their favorite is, perhaps they'll open your eyes to a new concoction you hadn't thought about. Atmosphere is fun and light. Usually very packed, but its worth the wait. Park off Broadway, in the structure. Islands will validate your parking for you.
Islands, the best tasting Hamburgers – What can I say about islands. They have the best tasting hamburgers and drinks as well during a hot day. They have these cool refreshing drinks that make you want to have more than one.
Ths drink is called "Rusty Anchor" it sounds funny, but its te best drink to have with any hamburger and fries. The deserts are good too.
They have a cool surf/beach/hawaiian atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. Its not the same but it has a great Hawaiian look.
