Best Time I've EVER had! – I love this hotel. The staff made me feel so welcome I felt like a superstar. I felt the familiar "hellos" were like living in a small town. Even the fact that the lights were out at night because of neighboring construction was not a problem. We had a fun little party in the dark, complete with our own flashlights! I had a blast!

The way they re-modeled this gem makes it that much more charming. It was also fun to see where the black sheep ended up as the day went on. If you have stayed here, you will know what I am talking about. If you haven't, you will know when you do... I can't wait until I have business in Miami again. I am definitely staying here, business or pleasure. (also, I can't get their fried kale out of my head, yummm!)

Parking lot scam – These are major jerks. I recently parked at their unmonitored lot at 125 Collins on South Beach, Miami, Fla. We paid $20 at the self-pay machine, which was the only option it gave us. We thought this gave us overnight parking. NOPE! It was only good until 2 a.m. So imagine our surprise when our car was missing after we checked out of our hotel around 9 a.m. The signage in these lots is miniscule and well-hidden. Their fees aren't on any signs, all you have is a tiny slip of paper to put on your car dash. We would have happily paid the extra money to stay a little longer, but we HAD NO IDEA. After looking around for a sign, we finally found a number to call, and were greeted by a man with a thick accent. We could barely understand him, and barely hear him due to road construction on Collins Ave. Finally we learned our car had been TOWED to Tremont Towing. One $8 cab ride, another insane impound lot fee of $215 (with numerous trumped up charges) and $7 in ATM fees later, we left South Beach determined never to come back. The staff of Double Park LLC is rude, their practices and signage is shady, and Tremont Towing had an profane, unprofessional staff. This ruined our vacation. We will never come back.

Reminder that i say i called the hotel and ask all the question about the dep and they said $50 dep a night cash or credit and i get it back when we check out. and then she said i had to pay for the room cause it was not paid for reminder again we booked through priceline everything was paid for in feb2011 our trip was paid for april21-25 2011 so the manager told her to take the $200 dep and they put it on my card after i start really fussing and i said im going to call priceline since u cant find our rsvp ,so priceline took care of every thing and the room they first gave us was construction out side the window and loud drilling and a lot of men with yellow hard hats when u open the curtains so we called the front desk and they gave us a hard time again so we called the bell man to the room to get our bags and we went back down to the front desk again and start fussing again so they told us they would hold our bags and we have to check in after 3pm and it is 11am now so we really pissed we have to walk around with jogging suits its already 86 degrees and Reminder we from detroit ,michigan .we was told that doubletree sold the hotel to surfcomber thats why we was having so many problem about rsvp. and dep. so we walk around southbeach until 3pm and we went back to the hotel and front desk afternoon shift was there very nice shift they had 2 rooms for us to pick from the manager gave her 2 keys so we could pick our room, when we went to the first room she knock first before we enter, and she open the door and it was some one in the room, the manger thats still from day shift gave her the wrong key, not paying attention so the young lady to care of every thing so we went to the other room it was ok,, the bathroom and the room very very small and the beds look like twin beds and the blow dryer hanging up in the closet the lamp switch broke only 2 glasses in the room, and the hotel did not have paper cups u have to buy your own .tub had a lot of rust spots in it.the room had a very bad smell so we had to buy air fresher ,and tub cleaner.the maids was very rude did not want to give us any towels only 2 and it was 4 of us. they didnot clean our room we had the sign up to clean the room.the stool was getting stop up, the door man on days was very nice and the security on midnights was very nice. i would never stay here again this hotel sucks and we ask to see the head hotel manager on duty they said he was in a meeting he never showed his face . he sucks to

Hotel review – I experienced hidden charges on my bill, which included all these charges for the bar, apparently every time you open the door to the refrigerator with the drinks they charge you 6.50. They put a fifty dollar charge on my bill. Then I told them about it and they removed it but my credit card and my bank statement did not match. Other than that the room was fantastic along with the pool, heated beautiful view of Biscayne Bay and the cruise ships. The problem was some of the people working at the hotel. The room rate was good, but they kept messing up on it.

Art Deco hotel offers an economical waterfront address. – It's true that this waterfront hotel lacks the stylistic charms of neighboring Delano and National resorts. The elevators are slow and cramped. The minimalistic lobby lacks celebrity-studded panache. Then again, guests here may be paying hundreds less a night than their ritzier neighbors with access to the same Atlantic coastline and just a couple of blocks from Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, and the convention center. The 186 guest rooms make up for the drab hallways with modern amenities like flat-screen televisions and a ton of pillows on doughy beds. You're in South Beach. What are you doing in your room?

Luxury beds and deluxe amenities help business folks and families sleep well at this comfortable mid-level chain. – In Short
Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.

Overpriced, tiny rooms, lame restaurant – $40/day to park car

Lazy maids... acted all "put out" if you want room cleaned. They show up at about 4pm.

Hotel pool water is not heated.

The rooms are small compared to most hotels. The do give you plenty of pillows, though.

The tiny bathrooms have very shallow, low toilets, but do expect blistering hot water from the tap.

Rooms only have very basic cable and internet connection is $10 for 6 hours.

There are the usual bottles of water in the room.. $8

The best things about this place are the location next to the beach and the microwaved cookies they pass out.

Stay Somewhere Else – Now the Doubletree Surfcomber. Although the hotel staff was friendly and the hotel restaurant was decent, it appeared to be run by college students. Room was very small and boring. Bathrooms were tiny and water pressure was very low in the sinks/shower. Housekeeping didn't show up at all some days. Parking situation was horrendous at the hotel, as well as the rest of Miami Beach. If you're down for the atmosphere, stay somewhere else. If you're down for peace and quiet, you're REALLY in the wrong place.
