not even close . . . – For a restaurant rated as having the best fajitas in Miami, we left having hardly touched our meal.

Our first clue should have been the lack of clientele altogether and many patrons drinking wine instead of margaritas.

Margaritas: tasted like they used pina colada mix and zero tequila. It should not be sweet, even if you order a flavored drink. I can make better 'ritas at home: frozen limeade concentrate, half the can of tequila, quarter the can of triple sec, and ice. Simple. Apparently not here.

Fajitas: not marinated, not grilled. I've had better fajitas from a drive-thru. The refried beans were burned and guacamole was from a jar. NOT authentic Mexican, sorry.

Order fajitas and 'ritas at Chili's!!!

2 and a half hour wait, lies and rudeness – We have been regulars at El Rancho Grande since moving to Miami Beach but will be finding alternative Mexican from now on. Our takeout order took 2 and a half hours to be delivered last night. We made 6 calls checking on the status and were told 6 times that the order had just left and would arrive in ten minutes. Finally one helpful staff member actually apologized and told us the charge would be void as we had waited so long. The manager (who was unwilling to speak with us before this point) had the nerve to call 5 minutes later to let us know the person on the prior call did not have authorization to comp our meal and we would in fact be charged. Very embarassing with 6 dinner guests waiting for over 2 hours to eat. My recommendation - drive the extra 10 minutes to South Beach for great Mexican food with a smile. And to the manager - here's a lesson in simple mathematics - you just sacrificed our weekly visit - let's say 52 x a $60 check = $3120 of custom a year to save a measly forty bucks.

Worst service – I had not been to this restaurant in years. Now I remember! The service was beyond slow, the food was cold, the manager or matre'd was rude and should not be in any service oriented business!

Excellent authentic Mexican food (not Tex Mex) – After searching high and low I've found authentic Mexican food in Miami! This is not another crappy Tex Mex restaurant. Great salsa, fresh, hot chips, excellent refried beans, A+ mole sauce. I highly suggest the "Burrito Californiano" & the margaritas. We did have to ask for the bill, other than that the service was decent.

Former hidden gem is now a must-try destination for Miami Mexican-food fans. – In Short
The colorful, festive Mexican-theme decor here includes sponged yellow walls, clay pots, ceramic tile-topped tables and brightly painted wooden chairs at each table. Spicy salsa and tortilla chips are made fresh daily. Expertly prepared enchiladas, burritos and fajitas tempt the palate. The black-bean soup here rivals chicken soup as a panacea and the spicy chilies are guaranteed to clear sinuses. Meanwhile, margaritas made with fresh lime juice range in flavor from melon to mango.

WONDERFUL – Wonderful food at wonderful prices. I recommend the North Miami Beach location for fewer tourists.

Really, Real Mexican Food – At last, real Mexican food! This is one of three places in Miami that serve the real deal! What a change from the band, tasteless stuff served at other places. They go out of there way here to serve ony the best, freshes, True Mexican food. All of this with fairly good service and moderate prices. A real treat, right here on Lincoln Road!

looks 7 food 4 service 3 – A lunch visit left me unsatisfied....a half cup of rice in a tiny ramikin...together with the same amount of refried beans.....no tomato garnish on the enchiladas...only lettuce. Mole was good...had to hunt down waiter to request extra sauce. A dinner visit a few weeks later solidified that I won't return. My entree was a tasteless caserol of shreaded chicken....I've had better food during a hospital stay.

Not So Good Mexican – The mexican food at El Rancho Grande is neither authentic or good. I am from Los Angeles where Mexican food is everywhere and this place isn't good as our local Taco Bell's. Starting with the chips, which were stale, the salsa which was less than mild, and the food which had a terrible tasting sweet sauce on everything we ordered (and they guys I was with are all Mexicans from L.A.) -ugh is the best I can say for this place. Service was slow and not too friendly even though we were the first customer of the day at 11:30 AM. My best advice is avoid this place. It looks decent from the outside but they need to overhaul everything else.
