Yellow Strawberry on Las Olas... Great Hair, Amazing Color, on the Pricey Side. – Worth the money. Yes it is pricey, but no one does color like the owner, Flo. She tends to go a bit shorter than I like, but she's an artist and I always walk out in love with my new do and feeling like a new me.
Not only is the salon on the ball in terms of talent and artistry, but they are fast. I have quite a head of hair, in years past I've spent up to 5 hours in top salons while they highlight and style my mane. The longest I've ever been at the Yellow Strawberry is two hours. With this place you get what you pay for. So if you go, be prepared to shell out $250 for long hair cut and highlights. Also, ask for the chief cookie herself, ask for the owner Flo.
Don't go! – My friend and I went here to treat ourselves to a day of beauty....and what we got was a day of disasters! My friends color and cut was awful!!! She had to go to another salon to get her hair evened out cause one side was longer than the other--but unfortunately, they couldn't do anything about the color or her hair would fall out! My perm also sucked and my hair has been breaking and frizzing ever since. Calls to the salon went unanswered!
Trendy & stylish, great first experience! – I am basing this review solely on my first haircut & style at the salon. I had not gone to a salon to cut my hair in years, so I had decided it was time to find a high-end salon that would give me a good change. Cintia, my stylist, did an exceptional job! Everyone who saw my new haircut absolutely LOVED it. My favorite compliment was: "That haircut is so you!"
I brought a few pictures to show her, so I was prepared. My haircut is so versatile. Looks great straight, wavy, it's cute & flirty, and looks great when I wake up in the morning, which is exactly what I asked the stylist for!
Cintia was great to work with, a super-friendly gal and super-talented hairstylist!
UPDATE: It's now over a year later and I'm still faithful to my same stylist. I'm bumping the rating up to 5 stars. The haircuts I get here really change my whole aura and mood. I feel great and confident every time I walk out of that chair.
what a nightmare...... – I went in for a color. they sat me with Jackie, I should have known the color would be bad considering she didnt even show me a swatch to get any idea of what I wanted. but since they are "professionals" I figured she knew what she was doing. I told her dark brown to black got medium brown. my hair is very dark almost black not to mention I had grays that needed covering. after $150 I walked out there 2 toned and still with gray. when I called to let them know i was not happy with the color they called me back 3 days later, gave me attitude, and told me there was nothing they can do and made me feel as if I was trying to "get something for free" because I didnt call and complain immediately.
Editorial Review – In business since 1979, this Las Olas salon studies your coloring, structuring and personality before cutting, coloring, perming, or adding extensions.
Ft Laud's most trendy salon – I have been a client of theirs for 4 years now, and everytime I try to change to someone else, it is not the same. Some stylists are better than others, but there is a stylists for all kinds of hairs.
