Lost Weekend Clematis now open! – Been going downtown & Lost Weekends since the late 90's. This latest edition above Dr Feelgood's, 2nd floor at 221 Clematis St, is spankin' clean, new & shiny. The older version boasted over 200 beers & was a great hangout for artists like its owner, the downtown underground, students from nearby Palm Beach Atlantic, & after hours workers for its beer, jukebox & popcorn. Students & undergrounders show during quiet weeknights, looking for something like the crazy Tuesday nights of old, when Dollar Draft nite single-handedly reignited a resurgence for Clematis St.. Here's my description now: The original informal arts bar, eclectically mixing downtown's professional clientele, PBAU students, & artists & underground open 7 days. The term "Meet me at Lost Weekend" was a call for years downtown, a place to meet & relax, either play & stay, or before going somewhere else downtown. West Palm suits, lawyers, accountants & stockbrokers come & mix, playing pool, foosball, pinball, darts & skeeball with avant-garde artists, students & undergrounders in tie-dyes, goth leather, jeans and sandals. All share the generous selection of local, import & micro beers, a full liquor bar, & the grandstand looking-glass view of Dr. Feelgood's main bar & dance floor below. The jukebox, retro video games & pinball machines complete a very unique scene. Art work is constantly on display on the walls, including regular spots for new & upcoming artists. For those who like to look & be seen, the continuous weekend flow, back and forth, of clientele downstairs & Lost Weekend upstairs will soon extend to Monarchy, a House & Techno bar also upstairs, right across from Lost Weekend. Adjacent Rapoport's dining restaurant opens soon, although it's already supplying food service to both Lost Weekend & Dr Feelgood's. It's a shot of Manhattan art lounge scene in a relaxed, more spacious LA atmosphere, with a ton of South Beach flair & culture you will not, cannot, see anywhere else.
WooooHoooooo!!! they are re-opening tomorrow! – i love the one in south beach and i'm sure i'll like this one as wall. the owner to these spots like delux dada blue and dubliner keep their guests coming back! looking forward. Sean is the bomb!!
No Frills – This bar is slightly secluded, yet not too far off the beaten path. Basically you don't need to worry about appearance, however not too sure if you'd want to go here to pick up a hot number. If you're looking to just chill out with a few beers and play pool, this is a great place: It's cheap, not too crowded, open pool tables, and darts too! Good place to swing by with your mate or perhpas some buddies to get a little fired up.
