Wonderful! I cannot say enough about Dr. Webster and the staff at TVH. They are all amazing, they provide great service and are really understanding and always answer all my questions thoroughly. I recommend them to anyone who loves their pets! I am so happy with their service and I would never consider changing vets
LOVE THIS VET! – Dr. Webster is a most intelligent, honest and nuturing veterinarian who is admired by her colleagues and adored by her clients. She is forthright while caring for your pets and will DIRECT you to make better choices for them. I.E., When I brought our beloved Golden Retriever in for a stomach aliament the day after a party, she quickly assessed I should not include him in the celebration by serving him birthday cake! Re-read the negative reviews: They are from people who do NOT recognize their negligence as pet owners. YES! An ER visit is MORE than a check-up at the Humane Society. YES! The cost has gone up in the last 40 years. (What hasn't?) TVH is an animal HOSPITAL. Dr. Webster is constantly adding and upgrading surgical equipment to provide prompt state of the art care for your pet. YES! You MAY have a long wait to see a SPECIALIST if you do not have an appointment. Sure is convenient when you don't have to wait for a "sick pet" result though! Lastly, NO! NO! NO! Dr. Webster can NOT risk her license or buisness by breaking OSHA's strict guidelines by giving a diagnosis a client wants to hear over her PROFESSIONAL opinion.
Best veterinary hospital – I would like to say as a client of Tampa Veterinary Hospital since the early 70's my family has always found the doctors and staff to be excellent for our animals. I have taken my cats to Dr.Chambliss and Dr. Webster for every health situation that has occurred to them. I have found Dr. Webster to be extremely caring for my cats as well as my well being because she realizes they are my FAMILY! I always have her treat my cats and trust in her evaluations of their care and have never been disappointed by her decisions for their treatment. She is always aware of the cost and keeps that in mind when treating my 4 legged children and never has she run my bill up with unnecessary tests, x-rays or meds to just make a profit. She cares deeply for my kitties and they have all lived long healthy lives thanks to her good care. On the occasion she is not available my one kitty is very fond of Dr. Gordon who was very helpful with his urinary track infection and Earl the cat insists on seeing him as his doctor. He was very knowledgeable and kind to Earl while treating him and to me explaining the situation and what we would need to do. Once again we did not do any unnecessary work just to inflate the bill. This past week my 17 yr old old cat who would have been 18 in May and always went to TVH for her care had to be put to sleep and we saw Dr. Gulledge because Dr. Webster was in an emergency with another 4 legged patient. Dr. Gulledge was not quick to say lets put her to sleep she immediately checked her out to see if their was anything possible that might help Isabella but sadly old age had caught up to her. I was extremely devasted with having to make the decision to let her go but Dr. Gulledge was so kind to both my cat and me and helped us. She gave Isabella a towel to lie on so she wasn't on a cold table and gave her a shot to help her sleep and give me time to say good bye and be with her. The entire office was extremely kind and considerate with my situation. I have always found the hospital to be very reasonable in their prices and always Dr. Webster has made her self available by person at the office , her cell or even coming to my house. I always think highly of TVH,their doctors and staff because they run a very professional and loving hospital that has and always will be the choice I go to for my childrens' care. I also without hesitation recomend TVH and especially Dr. Webster because I think she is a wonderful vet who tries her hardest to help everyone 2 and 4 legged that comes into TVH for assistance and does best to work with each person and their situation financially that I don't see many places willing to do. I think if someone has had a bad experience then something was wrong because like I mentioned at the beginning I have always found that TVH cared about the well being of my pet first not my wallet!
Don't Ever go here – The reason I gave one star is because I was not allowed to give 0 stars. My girlfriend got me a Doberman puppy for Christmas, so we now have two little guys. She had been going to this vet for a long time and recently we took our Chihuahau, his nail ripped off and was bleeding. For our emergency visit, A. they took forever once we got there, B. they it cost us over $200 dollars. The same procedure at the Humane society would have been half that.
During the visit they we told the vet we were getting a puppy, she said that she had owned, breed, showed, and performed the procedure of cropping their ears but it had been some time. She agreed to help us with the follow up work on the process. Once we got to this A. we had to call her 4 times to get any type or response B. she is charging more than 3 times what the specialist charges and a doctor’s visit, each time. They are rude and make you wait, charge you ridiculous amount.
So a specialist that people drive from different states to come see, in the middle of nowhere, that does 1000’s of follow up visits per year charges $23 per follow up, now these locale people that don’t do this procedure want to charge $110 dollars for the same 5 minute procedure.
REALLY! I will never take any of my pets there ever again. The Humane Society is the place to go,!
Feel the need to post... – I feel very inclined to post this review because I almost didn't go to this vet because of the negative reviews below. My dog got in a little accident and needed to be seen. I came in as a walk in with a limping puppy. They saw me within 10 minutes. Huge shock. Nurse took all the needed information and once I started asking questions about xrays etc, she made the comment that if for any reason I am worried about cost, they could set up a plan for me. I had never said anything or implied about costs but I found that thoughtful. The Dr was very nice and knew his stuff. He also explained it to me so I would understand. The staff was lovely and answered all my neurotic questions, like a worried dog mom would. They took care of him, gave me my meds and sent us on our way. They cost was right on point... not more than I would think was normal. All in all, very nice place... will return.
Loving and Reliable – I have been going to Tampa Vet Hospital for about 6 years. Dr Webster is wonderful. She has always been caring - through two long illnesses with my dogs - she has been aware of costs so as not to over burden us, and she has become like a friend. The front desk staff is always welcoming and helpful. I have seen other vets at the office. They do not always seem as competent, nor are they as caring, but it may be because they do not know us as well.
money hungry – I still take my pets there because Dr. Chambliss which was the previous owner is still there part time & I see him. He has no control on the charges since the new owner sets the prices and it comes up on the computer automatically. I've been seeing Dr.Chambliss for almost 40 yrs because he is a caring and excellent vet. The day he fully retires I will never return.
SCAMMERS SCAMMERS SCAMMERS....do doctors in this country only care for $ ?? instead of loving what they do, they love money more. BE AWARE
Unfortunate changes – I've been taking my dogs to Tampa Vet for many years and was always very pleased with Dr. Chambliss. Now that he has sold the hospital to a new owner there has been changes. I still go there because Dr. Chambliss still sees animals three days a week and that's when I make my appointments.
I went with my son-in-law to have his sick dying dog put down and unfortunately Dr. Chambliss was not in that day. When the other vet put down the dog my son-in-law had to go and pay for this service which Tampa Vet never used to charge their customers before. He spent thousands of dollars on this dog at Tampa Vet through the years so i feel they shouldn't had made him have to pay the $35 since he had just gone through this very traumatic experience. We then loaded the dog into the SUV and left. Their prices have also gone up. The day Dr. Chambliss retires I will start going to a vet which is close to my home.
Response to BAD EXPERIENCE – Citysearch's 'response' mechanism is not allowing us to file a rebuttal, and consistently gives us an error, and efforts to contact them electronically go unanswered. So, we must defend ourselves against this libelous and patently false attack.
First, this review borders on libelous.
Patently false claims: our veterinarian "Did not like the fact I was a breeder."
The bill was jacked up. Patently untrue.
"I had tried to be scammed" bold faced lie.
This person was upset because we refused to issue health certificates because fecal tests came back positive on 2 of her pups. It is against the law for us to provide health certificates for animals that do not qualify. I stand by our test results and the diagnoses made by our highly skilled staff.
We gave her the option to pay for all 4 certificates, deworming medication and come back in one week and only pay for the fecal tests. She refused this accommodation and left without paying her bill.
We have numerous clients who are breeders, and never have we dealt with an issue like this.
