die hard client - all the way from Portland, OR! – I had been going to CSS for almost a year before I moved to Portland and I can't wait to go back home to see Andrea for my next appointment! I have curly hair that was long and decided, after moving, to cut it short. What a mistake! I should have waited to go home and have Andrea do it! Curly hair is complicated and Andrea proved to me that she knows how to work with my hair, unlike the two different stylists I've seen in Portland. She is friendly (as well as the rest of the staff - usually there are smiles all around) and great at what she does. She takes the time to listen to what I want and gets it right. Even if it means scheduling a follow-up. She's also honest, which I appreciate! I'm calling soon to book my appointment 2 months in advance so she can fix this mess :(
5 Star – In the 10+ years my friends and I have been going to the salon, we have always had a great experience. What I really like is always hearing how they have just returned from an event with new hair ideas. Sometimes you'll see staff members practicing new techinques in the back of the salon. I enjoy going there, Chris always makes it a point to say hello. The front desk always greets with a smile and Rita always makes certain I am comfortable. Consistency is about the best I can put it. Chris always said to tell our friends to check them out by simply getting a shampoo and blowdry. That's how my girlfriend started going there.
Love this place – Boy, foreversally must have picked an odd day. I'm checking out CitySearch today for my own business and just got back from Salon Salvatore Christian so I glanced at their listing. I saw a review mentioning they were fighting? The reviewer doesn't say how her hair turned out. Hope it's great. I'm sorry to hear the experience was not good. I've been going to Chris (the owner) about every 8 weeks or so for (wow) over 10 years now! I can't say that I've ever witnessed a single argument. It's not that I'm implying foreversally is not telling the truth or anything, but what the luck? I'd give it another try if I were her. I always love my cut and color. When Chris isn't available I'm comfortable with any of the other stylists. The stylists are all very well trained. They listen to any suggestions I have and if I just let them do what they want I'm always happy with the result. Ok. There was one time quite a few years back I insisted he make me a platinum blonde and let's just say - "my bad" I couldn't pull that look off. But I certainly wouldn't be a customer for a decade if I wasn't happy. And I travel all the way from Palm Harbor now! Wouldn't go anywhere else. They make it a great, fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Stop Fighting – I have been looking for a new hair salon since I have moved to Tampa, but with all of the different hair salons around I never know which one is good. Last night I was watching tv and saw a commercial for this salon. So today I thought that I would look it up and read the reviews. I am disgusted, all the back and forth fighting!!! IS THIS A BUSINESS OR A HIGH SCHOOL? Needless to say I will find a hair salon that is a little more professional.
Previous reviews are surprising – I am really surprised to see the previous reviews, and personally, I don't think you should post about a salon unless you personally have used their services. I have been going to Salvatore Christian for over 4 years now, and I have seen numerous people. They were all awesome. Not once has my hair ever been messed up. And if it was, I know they would fix it. In fact, Jessica and Chris did my hair for my wedding in May. I had so many compliments on how it came out. I also had Michelle do my nails. She did a really beautiful job. Many times, people ask me where my hair done and I have given several referals to the salon.
Good Job Daniel!! – Daniel did the right thing and contacted the client with the hair issues she's been having. I'm very happy he did what should have been done a loooooooong time ago!!! Good JOB

first off, i appologize that micheal no longer works with us. Unfortunetly for you that is affecting your views on me. And by the way he is very happy to no longer be doing hair. secondly i guarantee eveything that i do. if for whatever reason any of my guests are unhappy they know that i tell them to give me a call and we will take care of it. doing hair isnt just my job, it is my career and my hobby, i love what i do, and i therefore take this very seriously. i tell everyone that i want them to love there hair and if correcting something that i have done that they do not like is what it takes for them to love their hair then that is perfectly fine with me.
if your "signifigant other" shall we call her, has any issues with her hair, she needs to stand up for herself and talk to me about it. you have no right to say anything you have said about me, you know nothing about me. My clients are not all young like me... you dont even know how old i am. I do not give cheerleader hair. I do not give people purple and green hair. I work in the heart of south tampa for crying out loud.
Great Customer Service? – Update, my girlfriend went back to Alex for the fourth time now. I have to say that for the first time the haircut actually looked good. She didn't try to make my middle-aged friend look 15. Kudos!! On the other hand, the color job was the WORST ever!!! She's 4 for 4 as far as missing that same huge spot on the left side of the back of her head. It's still dark brown and sticks out like a sore thumb. The newest thing is that the back of her head (what wasn't missed that is,) was highlighted blonde. The ENTIRE front of my significant other's hair is pureGRAY!!! Especially her bangs. Nice going Alex. Now instead of looking 58, she looks like my grandmother who is in her 80's. She knows that her hair looks terrible, but is too scared to call the salon and go back. She's afraid that she'll hurt Alex's feelings to ask her to fix what she messed up.
I guess we'll see what the next haircut/color surprise brings...maybe she'll be bald? or have green or purple hair? Good job, keep em guessing.
The owner should pick up the phone and call this client and re-do her hair for free and make her look decent...isn't that what going to a salon is for? To look BETTER? or have things changed in the last 20 years, and I just missed the boat?

Great customer service – I've been going to Salvatore Christian for @ least 5 years, maybe more. Yes, Michael was my stylist before he left, and I did think he was wonderful, but Alix, whom I have now is wonderful too. In all the years I've been going there, I have NEVER waited more than 5 minutes for my appointment, & frequently, if I am early for my appointment, they take me right then! Everyone there is very nice & friendly & helpful. I NEVER worry about my purse when I am there. And I know for a fact if I were ever unhappy with my cut or color or highlights, I can just go back & they will make it right!! I would highly recommend Alix. She is patient & caring & provides excellent customer service! Oh, & the reason I left my old salon was because the owner, even though he was married, was going through some kind of mid-life crisis & all he wanted to do was flirt with all the young, cute girls & was treating me like I was invisible when I was there, and I was his age! That would NEVER happen @ Salvatore Christian!
