Worth the drive-stand out in the crowd with great hair! – Omar is the best of the best, why else would I drive from Sarasota to get my hair cut in Tampa? Seriously, people stop me on the street and in airports to ask me who cuts my hair-who could ask for more?
He knows just how to cut your hair to suit your face and lifetyle no matter what your age, retaining a sense of style and hipness to make you stand out in a crowd.
Worth the trip at any price.
Hot Sexy Hair! – Omar is amazing! What an artist! When he works his magic, you feel sexy and beautiful! I love getting my hair done at Omar Sassin! It's not just a hair appointment , it's an orgasmic experience!
I FEEL SEXY AGAIN!!!!! – Words can not describe how AMAZING I FEEL & LOOK!
INCREDIBLE PEOPLE TOP OF THE LINE SERVICE!!!
THIS SALON KNOWS HOW TO BRING OUT YOUR TRUE BEAUTY!!
I'M BACK!!!! THANK YOU OMAR SASSIN SALON
you are dead on! – NancyG13 you are 100% correct. He is the poorest excuse of a real man and father that I've ever heard of. All the money he gouges his customers for is certainly not used for child support. His ex works her butt off to support her 3 children and is a wonderful person and mother. This is how he thanks her for giving him those beautiful children. There's a special place in H#@! waiting for irresponsible, abusive men like this.
Bad Business man and horrible person – I came in and asked for a specific cut and color tone.
He acted like I was a moron and did what he wanted to do and it nothing like what I wanted.
I ended up talking about my bad experience with some friends later that day and two of them told me that he has never paid a dime in child support for his 3 kids in 5 years. He gets arrested all the time for non payment, but refuses to comply. Not the kind of person I want to give my hard earned money to.
never again – Came here recently because my co-worker referred me. Everything seemed great at first, pleasant receptionist and a visiting stylist from another salon sat and chatted with me while I was waiting for my appointment to start. I was at first a little dismayed by the fact that the waiting area was so small and seemed almost like a doctor's office, but I was hoping the results of my hair would overshadow that.
So when Omar finally made time to see me, he was very friendly and cordial at first and I thought I was really in for something special! Then I saw him interacting with his other customers and started to worry if maybe he was like an abusive relationship, you know? Nice at the beginning to reel you in, and then an a$$hole once he has you caught. I very specifically came in for JUST color. But before I knew it, I'm getting a haircut. Honestly, I don't know that I ever even agreed to one but suddenly he's chopping my long hair into tons of layers!!
My panic was clear and his totally flippant and rude response was "its the hair left on your head that matters." Once the traumatic cut was finished he didn't really even allow me to see it, and instead went straight to highlighting my hair, putting in a lot more foils than i'd expected. by this time i was afraid my hair would turn out white-blonde which i specifically did not ask for, and also i can plainly see that he is RUDE. Rude to his customers, booking several at a time and acting as if our time isnt nearly as important as his, and rude to his employees.
after my highlights he made his assistant apply color on my hair, never telling her what to do or when to do until the last minute so he could have complete control and make it clear that he is in charge. she was very friendly and obviously cared a lot more about my hair and about all the other people but she seriously acted like she lived in fear of her boss. why he manages to have a nice receptionist, assistant and shampoo woman i have no idea. he must pay well, because he's a CREEP
once my color was washed out, omar came over to the shampoo bowl and told me how beautiful it looked, but once it was dry my hair was completely PLATINUM. i had a platinum mullet and i felt horrible asking it, but i had to make all those people stay late because there was no wayi could be seen in public with hair like that
finally he "fixed" t and by that time it was after 10pm. i was exhausted and just wanted to go home, mind you my appointment started at 3:30. and honestly the hair is still not good, and i've even gone back into fix it and i still feel cheated. all his services are ala carte which is something i have not experienced since i went to fantastic sam's when i was 12. all in all over $300 so that i can cry over how bad my hair looks
terrible place, please do not go here.
Too Expensive and Not Customer Friendly – First, the salon is completely overpriced. I would have no problem paying close to $400 for a cut and color (on my short to short-medium length hair) if it was worth the money. However -- it's not. He chopped off my hair even though I told him I wanted it to grow out. I wanted to grow out my long layers so I could get an asymetrical bob -- and I told him this explicitly. Instead he cut my hair in two layers -- instead of being sexy-sheek, I looked like a soccer mom. He pushes products on you -- he tells you what he's using, then he has one of the girls he works with come up and ask him in front of you "what kind of products are you using today" -- even if you tell him that you don't want any, or if you still have some from the last time you were in, his employees will have already brought the products up to the counter for you. He tries to sell you $200+ blowdryers and curling irons -- and even after you tell him "no" - the sell continues at the front desk. Then they treat you awful when you decline them politely.
The entire experience is very disappointing. The man is not friendly, does not listen and really has no people skills. Be prepared to spend at least 4 hours in the salon when you go -- he will quadrudple book people and work you in shifts. It is completely unpleasant --
Don't get me wrong, if I walked out of there with a fantastic haircut and color I could overlook all of the other downfalls -- but trust me, you get the equivalent of a $80 cut and color and you get treated like a second class citizen. Believe the reviews below -- the salon will nickel and dime you (try $15 for him to run a straight iron through my short hair, not including the $25 blowdry) and you will waste a better part of a day.
if style matters, choose Omar – If style matters, choose Omar. It's that simple. I would recommend him to anyone. Everyone who I have sent to him says that their cut and color were outstanding.
I am a very satisfied customer – Omar is a great hair artist. He is a little expensive ($83 for a designer haircut), but he is worth it if you care about style. You can pay less if you want to go to Fantastic Sam's-but, you will get what you pay for. Omar has won international awards for his work and he has trained many of the best stylists in Tampa over the past 20 years. He is highly recommended.
The BEST Hair Design Artist in Tampa – Omar has been cutting and coloring my hair since 1989. I am constantly complimented on the cut and many hair stylists have stopped me to ask who cuts my hair. Without reservation, Omar is the best in Tampa and one of the best anywhere. I have read a couple of earlier reviews and I must question whether they were written by jealous competitors who are trying to slander his reputation. You will not find a better technical stylist and his designs and techniques are on par with the best salons anywhere.
