Tasty Indian Buffet! – Great food at a great price! We travel to Tampa several times a year, and try to find another Indian Buffet open on a Monday night - most are closed on Monday. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the ambience. We have always had excellent service however, and it's a cozy, clean place. Can't wait to visit again next week!
5 star resturant best food ever!!! – THis was my first time i went in to indain resturant after a long time because the one i went to a year ago i was really bad and had no good service. one day i heard about this restuaurant i decided to go there and when i went in there the first time the store looked really amazing it had nice decorations and amazing seating and clean place i really loved the resturannt and then when i went inside the waiters were really nice to me and i really appreciated that and there serivice was amazing the food quality was really good and had good portions. this small restruarant makes me happy and when ever i wan t to go to a indain resturant i prefer this resturnat i love this restaurant and after i read the reviews about this resturnart that is just a lie i think it is the best!!! so if you really like indian food and its your first time and you need good service and good food i prefer this 5 star restuanrant .....

There's a bunch of indian restaurants in the Tampa area, but this by far our favorite. The buffet is features a whole crapload of different curried dishes, delicious naan, a wall of mirrors so you can look at yourself stuff Tandoori Chicken into your mouth.
Great food, ok service. – I ate here a week ago with a couple friends. I grew up in the UK with some great ethnic foods, and since moving to Tampa have been looking for somewhere authentic and delicious. After reading some less than stellar reviews of Taj, I decided to check this place out for my first Indian fare since moving to the U.S. The two friends I had with me had both been before, much to my surprise. Angithi is in a very unassuming plaza, and upon entering the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the horribly bland decor. If you're looking for ambiance, do not go here.
we were seated quite quickly and had our orders in within about 5 minutes. Now, the server we had didn't seem particularly thrilled to be there, but he wasn't rude by any means. I had ordered the lamb korma and a garlic onion naan bread. when they bring it out, they bring a big plate of rice for the table to share. First off, there are some very good portions here, and they did not skimp on the lamb. Also one order of naan bread could have been shared between two of us very comfortably, and man was it delicious. The Korma I had was medium spiced, and it was... absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of heat, very tasteful, without being over bearing on spice. I tried a little of each of my friends' and they were good as well. Lamb is a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. I probably spent about $20-25 after tip, and was very satisfied and happy to spend it.
Bottom line, if you can look past the crappy decor and don't let the unenthusiastic wait staff get to you, this is an excellent place for great indian food. Local Indian families eat here which is a good sign. I would recommend this place if all you're looking for is good food. not really date worthy.
Worst Indian food in Tampa Bay – Their food quality especially at the lunch buffet is horrible. The food has no taste. Their food used to taste very authentic Indian, but it now tastes horrible and bland. Maybe they have lost their Bengali cook who was very good. They have started adding Manchurian dishes ( a mix of chinese and Indian food) which taste neither Indian nor Chinese and have no place on an Indian buffet. The overall food quality has gone down the drain. My advice, stay away and save your money.
Great Indian cuisine – Great food and plenty of it. I eat a pretty good amount but I had to get a to-go container. I was not going to leave any of this great food there. So for less than $13 including a 20% tip, I got out of there with a full stomach and a light lunch for tomorrow. :-)
The folks were very accommodating as I called and told them I would not be there until 30 minutes before they closed. They said "come on, we will wait for you".
I waited only 10 minutes for my entree of Baingon Bharta, a roasted whole eggplant and Basmati rice dish.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because of the modest decor. However, if someone is only looking for good food, then this is the place.
They also have take-out.
I hope this review helped.
Decent – Good for takeout. They will make dishes authentically spicy, which is a plus for me. Dreary interior. There are a few Indian restaurants I prefer in Tampa (Taj, Bombay Masala), and all the Indian restaurants tend to offer the same dishes.
Review for hotel guests – I needed to find an Indian restaurant for our guests and decided to try this restaurant. I must say I was greatly impressed with the quality and quantity of food but was thoroughly disappointed by the service. There was 3 tables of 2 when we arrived and for awhile we were the only table. It still took 40 mins for our dinner and we had to keep calling our server over to get service and drinks. The quality of food was excellent and portions were great. Don't go if u are in a hurry. Good food
