Worst dining expeirence ever! – We live on the beach and probably spend between $200-$300 weekly on food. (I went to culinary school once upon a time)

The place looks great to say the least.

The service started to look good, prompt seating, clean cut, polite and private.

Then it went down hill fast.

Our promised bread came out 18 minutes after seating.

The salad had whole parsley stems and cheap stem heafty untrimmed wilted watercress and wilted spinach, tossed in cheap olive oil with no salt, un-toasted toast point and cheapo parm. (SUCKED!!!)

The scallops were cooked perfectly but the base was boring and bland.

The Entree was the worst I have ever had.

Cut up chicken, soggy gnocci, and overcooked asparagus clumped on the plate with a ton of crappy sauce.

The worst part was I am already disgruntled and upon turning in my entree it took 26 minutes to get the desert.

(On a prefix menu so you know it's comming) the cook (not chef) broke down the reasturant prior to makeing my desert with the hands that he used to pick up the mats. I had to go to the front to get my check and told them to keep there desert. The waiter must have had OCD becuase he kept re-aranging my forks. (5 Times)

THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lobster Pot Has Friendly Service – I wish we had eaten at the Lobster Pot before having eaten at the Middle Grounds. Our expectations of service were much higher, so we were a little disappointed. The ambiance seemed a little presumptuous, but the staff was extremely friendly. The food served there has a very strong French influence, which meant lots of sauces. The food was wonderful, even if extremely rich. The service was slow, but it seemed as though it was meant to be slow. All of the wait staff seemed to disappear for intervals. At one point, we feared our steadily dwindling supply of flatware might have been a problem, but we discovered that if we shared flatware, the course could be completed. Our entire dining experience took about an hour and a half. Wow.

excellent food/great service – I have celiac and must follow a strict gluten free diet. This place has gone above and beyond to create wonderful gluten free dishes that I can enjoy! The chef has also been willing to make dishes that are not on the menu, such as fried grouper for my husband. Overall a very lovely dining experience with great food ,excellent service and caring individuals at this restaurant.

Table 3 - Updated and Inviting – We were warmly greeted at the door by the valet who we have seen there over the years. Not only remember us, he also held the front door open for our family.

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller which were so good, we sent the waiter back for a second helping. The shells were lined with a delicious spinach bed tht had us craving more. So we did. The server recommended a new wine (a Pinot Noir) that was perfecly paired with what we ate - good choice!

For dinner, we each had something different, from the Chef Special to the Lobster dinner to the Vegetable Wellington. This Wellingtong had a very nice buttery, flaky crust witha pecan pate on the inside, that could convince me to eat vegetarian.... if I didn't like seafood so much!

We finished off with the Chef's dessert - a HUGE piece of chocolate concoction that required more spoons then were at the table. Washed down with a cappuccino and chased with a cognac, this was a perfect relaxing dessert!

We will definately be back to Table 3.

Restaurant appears to have gone out of business . . . – I used to like this restaurant, but it seems to have gone out of business, without making good on it's gift certificates. We had a $100 gift certificate that we were going to use on 9-13-08, but when we got there, there was a note on the door, "Closed until further notice". Quite rude considering we made reservations, they had my cell phone #, we drove all the way from Tampa, and it was our wedding anniversary. Even if they had no intention of ever making good on the gift certificate at least they could have called us and said the restaurant would not be open that evening, saving us two hours on the road. The restaurant phone is now disconnected.

Poor Service, selection, overall disappointing – Was there on 9/6/08, arrived around 9:30pm. There were maybe 3 other tables occupied at the most. The waiter offered Manhattan Clam Chowder, which one of us ordered. My date and I ordered Lobster and crab legs. THe chowder wasn't delivered and when we inquired where it was (after about 20 minutes), we were told they were all out, and they brought some semblence of a seafood chowder/stew which supposedly had some tomatoes in it. This was NOT a good substitute! I could see if they were busy, but by this time, there wasn't anyone in the place but us.

The lobster was tough, but the crablegs were very good.

One member ordered the Beef Oscar, and it was delivered without the 'Oscar' (crab stuffing and a sauce),. When we told them about it, they brought a plate of crab stuffing with a different sauce on it as they had run out of the sauce for the 'Oscar'.

They offered a single, free dessert to make up for everything, but for a bill over $200, for 3 people (including 2 glasses of house wine), the freebie wasn't worth it. The chef's chocolate cake wasn't that great. I expected more.

We won't be going back.

Good customer service – I took my husband and daughter to this restaurant last night for my husbands birthday. This was our first visit. Our daughter is a teenager and did not find anything non seafood on the menu she liked so she ordered off the childrens menu. The regular menu is very limited on the non seafood dishes. My husband ordered the fish and lobster dinner special. It was ok. The Maine lobster he wonders if was even a legal size as it was quite small. I ordered the Lobster Thermadore. It was good but not fantastic. Most of the meal was good but not great. The chairs however just caused pain in my back. We noticed that the tables for couples had comfortable leather captains chairs but for larger size groups the chairs were hard and straight. We felt like we were sitting ackwardly at the table. Very uncomfortable. Staff was great. Food was good. Over all- ok. I do not think we would go back though.

look out for 15% gratuity added to your bill – I must say at first we were very impressed with the atmosphere of this very quaint restaurant. Menu to our surprise was a little pricey, food was quite delicious. Service was just a little strange, as I don't think we were checked on enough. I had ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked a little well to what was ordered. My husband ordered the red snapper, ocar style and he cleared his plate clean. Our 5 year old, loved the chicken fingers. The shocker was how a party of 3 was automatically charged 15% gratuity on the bill. Here I thought only big parties waranted this. It made us not want to tip anything more, simply because our waitress was missing in action to much, but heck with gratuity already on the bill, what does she have to work for.

Elegant Seafood Dining – The Lobster Place (actual name was on the do not use word list) is as Fine as Dining gets for Seafood Lovers! Movers and shakers can be found here on a regular basis. The Food & Service are one of the best in the area.

The dress is more dressy than your average Seafood Restaurant, so dress up a little, you never know who you may be seated next to! Reservations recommended.
