Spent the evening on the beautiful Clearwater Beach enjoying the sunset. Decided to have dinner afterwards. Our first choice was Frenchies, but it was so packed. Decided to go to Palm Pavilion. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Jesse our waiter was very responsive and friendly. Ordered water and beer while deciding what to order. Jesse came right out with the water followed by the beer when it was ready. We ordered the conch fritters for an appetizer. They were cooked at too high of a temperature. The outside was burnt. The inside was mushy. Very disappointing. For the main course my friend had grilled grouper which came back swimming in butter/oil. Grilled must mean pan-fried. I had the blackened mahi mahi which was cold, dry, overcooked, and poorly seasoned. I guess I should be thankful it was not swimming in butter. The garlic mash was good as well as the black beans and rice. Very disappointed in the main dishes. I'd give this 2.5 out of 5 stars just for the service and location.
Worse place i've ever worked. Kitchen staff is trash. My tables orders would take 20+ minutes for food that should take no more than 10, regardless of how busy it is. fried shrimp take maybe 5 minutes in a fryer, and yet time and time again Ive had problems with my ticket times. A 2 top with a burger and fried shrimp basket, 20 minutes. Really dude??? Im getting attitude like I forgot to ring it in. Its embarrassing to have to tell your customers the kitchen is in the weeds, and they look around at all the open tables and say, 'with what???'. Bad tips due to this problem. I was relieved when i found a new job with an actual 'turn and burn' attitude.
Great on the beach spot! – Very casual place great to watch the sunset! Our group of 4 only got burgers (probably a mistake as they were all overcooked) so while the meal wasn’t great, the ambiance was great. It was great to be on the beach with live entertainment watching the sunset.
Great Hotel BUT... – It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
A Real Clearwater Beach Kinda Place – The menu is so much bigger than the CS review, which must be really old. We went there a couple of times when we were on vacation. Everyone else with us orders the grouper sandwich, but I love their hurricane shrimp, their chicken caesar wraps and their flatbreads - can't remember which one. We try and come early so we be on the deck and have the food come as the sun sets. Thumbs up on the pina coladas!
Had a blast – We spent a long weekend and found that we only needed to go to the Palm Pavilion. The food was decent, but the drinks were great! Darren rocked! We only paid for 1 drink and left toasty!!! Thanks Darren!! Love you!! Lori
Nice place to hang out if your a people person – I eat here often, I'm a local kinda I live on the outskirts of Clearwater, I like to chill out and eat on the deck with a table close to the bar, the view of the ocean is great and the people come from all over the globe. It's a good place for couples, singles and groups of friends. When i'm done eating and having a nice tropical drink I head out to take a walk on the beach. I really like this place.
OMG, DO NOT COMR HERE FOR REAL FOOD – After seeing an inviting TV commercial and talking to someone who had been there, I decided to try it for dinner, as my condo was within walking distance. OMG. What a rip off. Let me start by saying that there were at least 8 servers chatting it up, while diners waved frantically for attention. Our sever dumped us at an out of the way table, then proceeded to ignore us after she took our order. I ordred the grouper dinner, and it was basically boring and unimaginative. No spices, no salt and pepper, nothing. Canned green beans accompanied my uninspired dinner, and the mashed potatos wre the best part of the meal. I do not normally write reviews, but his meal was so bad I wanted to let others know. Order the bugers, the wings, the beer. but DO NOT come here looking for a real dinner.
Bad customer service – I went to Palm Pavilion a couple of days ago and had THE WORST waitress. She was cold and not friendly at all. She made it seem like we were inconvincing her every time we asked for something. Due to her horrible service, I only left her a 15% tip ( I usually leave atleast 20%). I used a credit card to pay for my dinner and come to find out later when I checked my bank account, she changed the total on my bill to give herself over a 20% tip! I am VERY outraged by this and will not return to Palm Pavilion!
Don't bring the family! – This is a great place to have a few beers and a burger when you are enjoying the beach. Its more of a bar than a restaurant. So sit back, have some drinks and enjoy the scenery. Leave the kiddies at home.
