Skip it – Being a frequent visitor to the Tampa Bay area I know all to well how difficult it is to find a restaurant that offers good food/service. Businesses seem to last all but a few months and then are closed or sold to make way for the next. Since Domenics had been in existence for over 20 years and in an area where the rent cannot be that cheap I felt for sure that we was in for a treat when I visited. It was not to be. Service was poor, uninformed and generally unprofessional. As an example - the preparation of one of the specials was described as featuring "a red wine sauce and there is some cabernet in there, too." The fried artichoke hearts were to be served with a blue cheese dressing. The oval serving dish came to the table with the fried bits resting on one (1) leaf of wilted lettuce on one end of the dish. When I say wilted it appeared that the lettuce had been placed on the dish and then left under the heat lamp so long that it was literally plasterd to the plate. The other side of the dish was just one big empty space. Obviously neither the kitchen or the server thought that there was anything wrong with this presentation. When I called the server back to the table to mention that the item was to be served with the dressing she looked at me as if I was from another planet, repeated my words and then retrieved the dipping sauce. My dinner companion and I both decided to order veal as the restaurant claimed they were famous for their preparation of such. My osso bucco was heavy and greasy. The veal picata was tough and chewy. I ate one of my veal shanks before the server came to the table and asked "are you finished with that" and then promptly removed my plate before my companion had finished her meal. In short - this was a disapointing experience and certainly not worth the price.

In search of Italian – A little place; romantic; cozy; by the beach. Entrees $15-$20. Costs 50% more than an Olive Garden but our dishes werent significantly better.

The Best of The Beach – The only thing I enjoy more then Domenic's food is how he treats you like family and so does everyone else who works at this outstanding restaraunt.

I have been going here for years and will continue to do so!

Exquisite Italian fare in a down-home setting, and right on the beach. – The Scene
The huge barreled entrance tips you off that there's something different about this place. A family restaurant in the best sense of the term, owner Dominic oversees all aspects of the joint--from the extensive wine list and newly-added menu items to the cozy, dim décor.

The Food
The parade of rich, flavorful dishes woos patrons back again and again. Start off with a bottle of the red stuff from the impressive wine list--perhaps a perfectly aged merlot or cabernet. Next, move onto the Veal Pizzaiola, an excellent cut of meat smothered in a spicy tomato sauce and then baked with fresh mozzarella. Or, opt for the Cernia Piccata, a fresh grouper filet sauteed with capers, lemon and a light white wine. The hearty meal comes complete with a basket of crusty bread. Do your best to leave room for their delicious homemade desserts.
