People at the cemetery does noot keep the word – I ordered the stone for my husband. Paid the fool price. The order was not delivered on time and the people in particular Nathan did not conformed with the company the status of the order and updated the family member... You pay the money, but are ready that nobody cares about you. The dignity is in the packet and bank account, not to the people.
Very dignified service, kind staff – I went to my friend's service today. Everything went smoothly, it was well timed, and we weren't rushed. I think that Joan, a survivor of Auschwitz and a very dignified lady, would have approved.
It was very nice great services Caring people – We had a caring people that were nice. The view lot for my father in law was impressive.
They on the spot and helped make out of town arrangemnt a breeez. Worke with our out of town family, and made it simple. We asked for a simple traditional, clean neat no fuss.
They were a little rushed at the start but it all worked out fine.
just kill me now – If I could give this place less than one star, I would. They exacerbated our grief by messing up SO many aspects of the funeral, burial, and headstone. They never called me back despite leaving multiple messages. Very rude. It doesn't get sleazier than this. Avoid this place like the plague - choose somewhere, ANYWHERE else! The manager (since I was shuffled from person to person, and finally asked to speak with the manager) did not know anything about his own cemetery, couldn't locate files, and when he FINALLY called me back (after I spoke with him the previous day) he not only did not have the necessary information, he called me by the wrong name and really had no idea who I was. Sheesh. I won't even talk about the switched casket, the lost headstone info, the lost order for the headstone, etc. etc...
Very Disappointing Experience – There is a real problem with scheduling funerals here. Despite having two chapels, they only schedule five funerals a day, which creates long backlogs. They do not show much concern for Jewish law, which says that burial must be as soon as possible, except when time is needed for family members to get there. This happened to my family twice. It will never happen again as we will not use Eden Memorial in the future. The funeral home is owned by a huge faceless Texas company that owns 2,600 funeral homes. In our latest encounter, their assistant manager on site was particularly rude and uncaring about the long delay for burial. Nor does the parent company seem to care in the least about following Jewish law. We were also put off by the high fees for various services, such as $450 per day for someone to sit with the body, which becomes very profitable given how long they delayed the burial.
There Are MUCH Better Jewish Cemeteries – There are better choices for Jewish cemeteries in the L.A. area. I've dealt with Eden twice, both times coming away feeling like I wasn't cared for. Very blah attitudes towards our family. And the cemetery itself has fallen under a bit of a downward spiral.... the general park has deteriorated.
Mount Sinai, especially Mount Sinai Simi Valley, is SOOO much better. Staff attitude is one of great care for the family. We experienced this for ourselves. The park itself is stunning visually, the chapel magnificent. Our pre-planning advisor, Howard Cohen, was extremely kind, & made our time with him a great pleasure. After burying parents at Eden, we opted to purchase our own graves ahead of time at Mount Sinai Simi Valley. Howard was truly of great assistance.
