Beware – I bought their shower door kit from HD and installed about 10 months ago. It had been working fine. About two weeks ago, one of the doors was off track. I gently put it back on track and I walked away. After about 5 min, I heard a big loud bang in my bathroom. I ran back to the bathroom and saw the door shattered into millions pieces. I went to the HD where I bought this. They checked and said the door has 3 years warranty. They told me I should contact Contractors Wardrobe myself. So I did. I left them voice mails and I sent them email on their website. My messages were just inquiries on whether or not this was covered by the warranty. It has been 10 days, all my messages sent to them have not been answered.
No Service / Warranty Response Beware – I bought a tempered glass tub door from Home Depot. It cost about $230. It seemed to be of reasonable quality but one of the two doors shattered during installation. It was not dropped, but a corner may have lightly contacted the tub. I asked the Home Depot rep to contact the company, Contractor's Wardrobe to order a replacement door. I was willing to pay for it, but needed only one door. I did not need the frame, the hardware or the second door. The Home Depot rep reached the company and got a quote for a replacement door - $305. The entire kit cost $75 less than the replacement door. They gave the H.D. rep a song and dance about how the door would have to be "special ordered" and that's why it would cost more.
I thought maybe there was a misunderstanding, but the H.D. rep assured me that the replacement door through Contractor's Wardrobe was going to cost more than buying a whole new kit.
Wanting to verify this I attempted to contact the company through its website. My email to the company has gone unanswered for over 2 weeks now.
Long story short, I bought a second kit - Home Depot gave it to me at cost. I now have an installed tub door, that I paid for twice, extra parts that I have no use for and a very bad feeling about Contractor's Wardrobe.
Be aware – I order a shower frameless door from Home Depot and they used this company Contractors Wardrobe. They send the door without instruction on how to put it together and without the handle. Call Kaitleen Tuesday 7/19/11 she said she had to investigate, investigate??? A door that it cost me $1000.00 and she
buy your closet doors somewhere else – We special ordered (through Home Depot) top of the line mirrored bi-fold doors for 2 closets. Paid $800 for them. Before we finished door openings our contractor called CW to double check on sizing of finished door frame. A lady he talked to (did not get her name) gave him dimensions which turned out to be incorrect. We found that out when everything was built and painted and contractor came back to install doors. They spent 2 days trying to figure out why these doors would not install right. First we learned opening was too large. So, we re-built the opening making sure everything was square and plum. Then we tried to re-install doors. There were large gaps on all sides, gaps of uneven size. We measured doors and sure enough, none of the panels are square. Called CW and were told somebody would call us back. A week later, no call. Home Depot called on our behalf, we called back too. No results. Buy your doors from a different company. This one has poor product and equally poor customer service.
