BAD service! – Bad service! I went there for lunch. I wanted to sit in a booth. The only booths available (I counted three) were covered with dirty dishes. I asked thatr they clear one of them for me. An elderly woman (the owner?) informed me that the booths were only for parties of two or more. Looking aeround and seeing several booths occupied by single customers I insisted that they ckear a booth for me. They refused., I left and will NEVER be back.
Great traditional Jewish Deli – Great, traditional Jewish deli for working-class folks, and the decor matches. Nothing fancy, very utilitarian, but the more time you spend there, the more it grows on you. Unlike Jerry's, which is quantity over quality, Mort's gives you quality AND quantity. Wonderful sandwiches, heaped high with good cuts, and prices to match. Don't forget to get some matzo ball soup, and hit the bakery on the way out for some awesome black and whites! (but leave some for me!)
This neighborhood deli has the gefilte fish goods and matzo ball options for those who need a break from Jerry's. – In Short
Rife with deli fans and comfort food-cravers, the authentic eatery is sure to keep the matzo ball soup on tap and the meats fresh. Because they cater to a predominantly Jewish Valley scene, the goods always meet their standards, making it stiff competition for grandma's home cooking. Among their typical deli choices are corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, matzo brie and an assortment of bagel platters. The adjoining Beas Bakery is the perfect spot to get black -and-white cookies and chocolate chip danishes for the next family gathering.
great traditional deli – Mort's is right next door to Bea's bakery so you know the bread and baked goods are super fresh. Everything I've ordered at Mort's has been delicious, arrived exactly how I ordered it, and tasted great! I like the breakfasts, the huge sandwiches, the soups, and the pickles. The service is fast, your drink order is taken and delivered to you within 3 minutes of walking in the door. The food comes out of the kitchen really quick too. The waiters and waitresses are nice and they know the large menu inside and out. The restaurant is totally outdated but maybe that's part of the charm. The booths are really close together, only separated by about 6 inches, so you can't help but overhear what the people sitting next to you are saying. All in all, I like Mort's and I eat here about once a month.
