Excellent Food, Excellent Service – Was hesitant going here because of the bad reviews. We had a party of 6. Our waitress Brittany gave quick and accurate service to all our needs. We thought the food was great.
Families and an after-work crowd come to this relaxed Tex-Mex chain for sizzling fajitas and a buzzing bar scene. – In Short
Festive decor of colorfully tiled tables, vintage photographs and sunny Southwestern accents welcomes an all-ages crowd at this informal hangout. Youngsters and their parents pile into dining room booths; casual business types toss back margaritas and watch televised sports at the bar. The menu features mild versions of Lone Star state favorites, from double-basted baby back ribs and steak fajitas to red-beef chili and deep-fried onions.
Just nasty food – We got there, 30 minute wait for a table for 2. And people kept coming, like everyone just couldn't get enough Chilis. Place is lousy with families and kids, I think literally every table had at least 1 kid. It's hard to order $50 at a place like that, so I get the "Presidente Margarita", wife gets a strawberry lemonade and we also get 2 waters. Everything except the margarita comes in a plastic mug made to look like a classic frozen beer mug. The margarita come in a heavy plastic martini glass filled with ice and a plastic martini shaker from which I can pour my own margaritas. Everything tastes like the first two ingredients are
water and high fructose corn syrup.
Got a spinach and artichoke cheese dip appetizer. Comes with a huge thing of real thin chips and "salsa" (pureed tomatoes and onions)...nasty, everything tastes below average to nasty. I get the "trio fajitas", chicken, shrimp and beef floating in a heavy, thick oil with green peppers and onions. Onions were so cooked they should have just been oily, onion soup at that point. Wife got a "cobb salad": TONS of iceberg lettuce, bacon bits (like the kind from a can of Bac-O Bits), yellow and white cheese shreddings, a pulverized hard boiled egg and nasty, thick, white dressing. Everything tastes below average to nasty and
as you eat it you know you will feel terrible later on. We're done and asked if we want desert, "no thanks". The bill is $40, I ask her if she can take tip out of the gift card, yes, give her the $50 gift card and leave quickly. On the way to the car I feel terrible. Remember there was a 30 minute wait and the people just kept coming.
I had better lunches at Esther Jackson elementary. I could look at my kitchen and it would taste better than that. Not that you needed me to tell you this but don't go to Chilis, even if it's free.
