Ew! Today's special: illegal drugs and bad food – Docs may have been around for a while, but I won't be contributing to their lasting presence in Smyrna. The bar food is average, drinks are fine, but I'd stick with something factory-bottled, I don't trust the cleanliness of the glasses. It's incredibly smoky and I was actually offered drugs for sale in the bathroom - and I'm not exactly putting off a "sell me something" image. Sketchy is the best word that I can use.
We try very hard to keep the bad out of Docs, I wish you would have told a mang. and that person would have been taken care of immidiatly
WORST FOOD IN ATLANTA – Went to Atlanta to visit family during the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to have dinner at Doc's the night before leaving town. What a HUGE mistake. This was the worst dining experience I have EVER had. Although the restaurant was not packed we waited at the door for several minutes before we were finally acknowledged and told that we could seat ourselves. We waited several more minutes for the waitress to approach the table. (After such a horrible dining experience I wish she had never come to the table.) First, the cheddar and broccoli soup was too salty for us to finish. (Turns it this was the best part of the meal!!!) We ordered lemon pepper wings, which tasted like they were soaked in a bucket of lemon juice for a month. Needless to say, out of 12 wings, we were only able to choke down four. We then received our dinner. (We would have been better off with a bowl of dog food.) The sirloin steak, ordered medium well was so tough that we could barely cut it with the knife. It had absolutely no seasoning. (Maybe they used it all in the soup and chicken wings.) The steak was also extremely tough. We could only eat one bite. The baked potato served with the steak was rotten. When we informed the waitress of the problems with the meal she apologized and said that she would send the manager to speak with us. Ironically, he showed up at our table and introduced himself as we waited for our soup. But refused to come to hear our complaints. I will never EVER return to this restaurant. We would have been much better off eating at McDonald's, where at least the food is edible and managers tend to address customers' concerns. They should be ashamed to call themselves a restaurant. I would not give this food to an animal!!!! By the way, one star is much too high! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
decently priced strong drinks – Good spot to play some pool if you come early enough to get a table. They also have darts. If you come here you got to try the sour cream and chive fries. They are really good with ranch dressing!
I think they should get an air cleaner. I don't mind most places that are smokey if they have decent ventilation, but this place is pretty bad. Don't wear anything that you don't want to wash the next day (like a nice coat or jacket).
Beware of Roaches!!!! – I was there eating with a friend and she looked up past me covering her mouth. I asked her what was wrong. She just stared so I turned around and there was a roach just crawling along the back of my booth seat. Are you kidding me???? I stood up, paid my check, and left. I started to tell Management about that but I let it go. That is one restaurant that will not be visited by me and my friend again. Be careful eating there!!!! Watch out for the roaches that's trying to join you!!
Best neighborhood bar in metro Atlanta – Smoking is voluntary at Doc's. Inhaling is not. A sign on the front door explains that this is a smoking establishment. The very best review would be, if you don't like it, don't come back. If you choose to come again, take smaller breaths.
Very good Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm with a minimum purchase but a thick layer of cigarette smoke – Very good Happy Hour from 5 to 7pm with a minimum purchase.
But really bad - a thick layer of cigarette smoke during its busy hours inside.
Hardly to breathe!
There is none for no smoking section!
Very good potato skin!
Don't do it, unless you want to hang with thugs – Doc's has become the new hangout for thugs once the sun goes down. Sketchy, sketchy crowd that instigate fights for their own childish perversion. I would suggest going to Laseter's before even considering going to Doc's. And, no, I don't work at Laseter's!
Great Food – WOW< What great Burgers and What a steak SANDWICH!!!Drinks are Great!!! Don't order a soft drink with your meal...no refills and they serve them in a 6oz glass....Great Music on the weekends. SLOW but friendly service!!
Horrible Food, even worse service – We visited on a Saturday night. They were not busy, so they can not use that as an excuse for the horrible service. The waitress barely checked on us at all. We sat for several minutes before she came over at all, and then when she came back and brought us our drinks, she did not even ask if we were ready to order. My food was completely unedible, not that I could complain before everyone else was done eating because the waitress did not come to check on us even once while we were eating. And then she sat 2 tables away smoking while we all sat for at least 20 mintues waiting for our check. We will never go back.
Changed my mine – After going to this bar for the last 5 years it has gone down hill. The waitresses keep getting worse and after being ripped off on my bill tonight I'm done. I had a buy one get one free coupon that was still good and they would not honor it. The happy hour bar wasn't even restocked after the first hour. The drinks are cheap but they are not worth it, which is a shame. Ellen Thompson needs to start visiting her bar more often and picking up the slack. I'm very upset after all the money I have spent there over the years. Obviously they do not care about the regulars.
