I have traded with Adventure Outdoors on several occasions and never really had a problem. Ever since this company had moved to a larger location though, things have become more confusing. The process in buying a simple firearm has turned into a big fiasco because so many people have to do this, that and something else. Just because the company is bigger doesn't mean the customer service is better, because in this case, its worse.
I ordered a firearm on line with the EXACT model number, manufacturer's name, style, length, color, caliber, and everything else thing that was needed to make a simple transaction simple.
I paid for it with my credit card, completed all the necessary forms an included my email address. The next day, I was sent an email with an order confirmation (no number) from a customer service rep who signed his name. I was told that the firearm in question was found and as soon as it went through the necessary people at the store, I would be given a call back as to when to pick it up.
I waited a day or two and called AO and spoke to a CSR who knew nothing regarding my order. This CSR couldn't find my order on the computer. He looked onto another computer system that was supposed to be for orders that were already pulled to no avail. I waited till the next day and called again. The CSR again told me that they couldn't find my name, email address, order or anything pertaining to my order. After having a conversation with a person who sounded like he knew something the company does, I told him that trying to place a simple order wasn't worth the hassle that I had to go through. I then told that CSR to CANCEL my order.
If this company cannot figure out how to treat a customer who provides everything that is necessary to make a simple purchase, I would hate to think how involved it would be making a large purchase and how many hassles and problems would be created. It is a shame that when a company so big they lose sight on how to treat their customers.
you may get next years model before you get the one you orde – Don't beleivethese people when they say 30 days and you'll get your gun. I ordered on 12/23/11 and as of today I'm still waiting. They can't tell you when to expect but S & W says be prepared to wait 6 months. Yes the gun was a great deal but I would have been better off paying more and getting it on time. I even spoke to the owner and he was very nice and said it should not be much longer which was around 1st of March. My advice is go to a smaller gun store where you get service and not treated poorly. I'll be going up and getting my refund this week if they can still read the thermal paper receipt. I would defffinately givethem no stars if I had a choice.
Worst Experience EVER! – Honestly, I wouldn't even give Adventure Outdoor 1 star if I had that option. We choose to order a gun from them after several recommendations from friends & coworkers and reading several positive reviews online. We ordered our gun on December 30, 2011 and paid for it in full ($600) and still have no idea when we will receive it (4 months later). We've called them at least 20 times since we placed our order and each time we were told they didn't know why it was taking so long to receive, to call them back in 2 weeks. Sometimes I could talk to them on my husband's behalf, other times I was told it was "store policy" they had to talk to him. After checking with another gun store, they checked with their supplier who has 25 of the exact same guns sitting on their shelf which we could get in 3-5 days, I called AO to cancel our order and get our refund. With the exception of my very last call to them today, I have never encountered such poor customer service! I'm usually really easy going and don't complain about businesses but I just had to share our terrible experience so hopefully you don't go through the same headache we encountered. My husband works at least 70-80 hours a week and now has to spend his only day off on Saturday to drive up there to collect our $600 that they've had in their bank account for the last 4 months.
TOO BIG TO CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER – I went to Adv. Outdoors to spend approximately $2000 on a new AR-15, ammo and accesories. I went after work during the week, when it is not a madhouse like on the weekends. I stood at the counter waiting for assistance, but the "CLERKS" (definitely not sales people) to even acknowledge that I was there. When I was greeted, the guy asked what I wanted and I told. He said we have the gun in stock, and the accessories that you are looking for are over there. Over there, really. What aisle, what side of the aisle??? I guess it was two hard to leave your conversation to help me FILL my cart. Needless to say, they have POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, and could really care less about you and it shows. Never will I set foot in there. If you do visit, you will see what I mean.
Will never go in that store again – I went to Adventure Outdoors to use their FFL services so I could have a firearm shipped.
They obviously struggled with understanding the simple process of filling out a form and sending it to the dealer who sold me the gun.
I specifically went over the form with the designated representative at Adventure Outdoor, and she told me the form was fine.
The next day, I was informed by the firearms dealer that they never received the FFL info, so they sold the firearm to someone else. I called Adventure Outdoors and asked them what happened. They admitted that they never faxed the form, and then they told me that I didn't fill it out properly. I called their BS and pointed out that I specifically asked if the form was OK before I left.
Of course they took the "there's no need to raise your voice" approach with me, and I told them there is no need to take the "poor customer service approach" with me. I told the girl on the phone that I would wait for her to get the person who needed their ass chewed for making me lose this purchase.
No resolution was provided. I will never go there again.
DO NOT GO HERE! – Look, I never get on line to write a review.
1) SERVICE SUCKS
2) THE STAFF IS NOT HELPFUL
3) PACK YOUR LUNCH AND GO AHEAD AND TAKE A PICNIC INSIDE THE STORE B/C YOU WILL BE WAITING A LONG TIME FOR SERVICE
4) MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ITEM BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE B/C THE STAFF THERE IS INCOMPETANT AND WILL PROBABLY GIVE YOU THE WRONG ITEM
5) THE PRICES ARE MUCH HIGHER
6) IF THE PHONE RINGS AND YOUR SERVICE PERSON TAKES THE CALL BE PREPARED TO WAIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE BEING HELPED AGAIN
7) THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!
This store sucks so bad I signed up just to leave my comments. First of all the service here absolutely sucks. I stood next to the counter for about 15 minutes before any of the staff even acknowledged I was there and asked me if I needed help. The first guy told me he would be right with me and then the phone rang and he decided to spend 15 minutes on the phone when I was a customer standing right in front of him. Finally another person on the staff told me he would help me. The guy seemed like he was on some sort of muscle relaxer. I looked at some of the firearms and then he got on the phone to answer a customer who was calling. He kept giving me the “one finger up” I’ll be back with you in a second. Yeah right, 15 minutes later he finally got off the phone. I decided to just get a magazine for one of my pistols. When I got home it wasn’t even the right magazine. I thought I was done with that store and it gets worse! I had to deal with the same damn thing with the staff taking a phone call instead of working with a customer right in front of them. Just to return the one item it took me 40 minutes. The right magazine ended up costing $10 more and I asked him to discount it since I drove 30 minutes to get there. He looked at me and said, “why would I do that and not make any money on this item?” Well dumb ass maybe because you just lost a customer and I’ll never shop there again. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVER!
