First Class but not stuffy! – Walked into a darken room, the family & I were seated immediately for another birthday celebration (fab 50 is soon becoming shrewd 60). The restaurant itself is beautiful & very eclectic. We went the last weekend in June, the singer was excellent. We had so much fun, the singer kept the audience involved. We ordered starters; crabby cakes;shrimp tempura & calamari fritti; all were excellent. Entrees ordered were shrimp tempura;ny strip;pork chop;hamburger; chicken toscana & parmesan encrusted chicken(my favorite & it was my birthday). The cheesecake was shared for dessert but by the time we got dessert; who cared. Drinks flowed; music was first class and food excellent. We had a grand old time and will return again, maybe we will go back for a good blues night. I think because of the atmosphere, this would be a great place for a nice even romantic date; there were seats that were very intimate & cozy. I really enjoyed the experience, I would recommend to anyone wanting a restaurant that was cozy, intimate with good music, good food. Here is my tip for you, study the menu before you go because if you seated upstairs, it ,may be too dark to read.
Great jazz, food and service – This was the first restaurant that had a jazz singer that could actually sing. It was a great experience and the food was wonderful. The customer service was impeccable!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS – Sambuca, which was once a great place to hear live music and eat good food has turned for the worst. The weekend music is horrific unless you feel like attending a wedding. Music during the week is reasonable but you will be eating alone because the food is horrible. I would pass on this restaurant if you care where you spend your money.
Good food and hot chicks – I went to Sambuca yesterday and the food and the entertainment were great but I expected that. I hadnt been there in a while but I knew it would be good. The extra bonus was the smokin' hot managers!!!! One in each flavor!!!!!!! Go for the food and the live music stay for the eye candy with the keys!
Disappointing – While the place seemed impressive at first, but we were soon disappointed. We went in for an after-dinner drink and to listen to some live music. We sat at a table in the bar area. The bartender who was also the only server in the only area took about 10 minutes to come take our order, but not before stopping at another table to socialize. Our table was dirty. The restaurant was big but the ventilation was horrible. The whole place smelled like fish. The music was great, but I doubt I'd go back to this place again.
Great Service Great Music – We had a wonderful time on Friday night. We heard Ron James perform and he had all these talented people with him. I called up to the restaurant and found out he willbe back again with them in May and I am excited. It will be great. I recommend going.
Thursday night was amazing – I went there about 3 weeks ago for my mothers birthday and Phil Perry performed with Bob Baldwin. On top of that Joey Sommerville was there. All that talent in one room. It was so much fun. The food was great. I loved my Salmon and the fried cheescake. We will be back again.
I went here with my boyfriend for my birthday. I loved the ambience. Live jazz, good food, excellent service. This is a good place for a nice date/ special occasion
Horrible Customer Service mixed with bland food. – The restaurant looks nice and can accomodate various size groups. The music is amazing but from management down the customer service is horrible. So if you are willing to deal with horrible service, attitude, rudeness and bland food then this is the spot for you. But if you are looking for more than just a good band then find another location because this is no it.
Perfecting dating spot – Well I must say it was very enjoyable. I attended the Ken Ford performance and it was NICE! The food however sucked! I ordered the lobster enchiladas ... they weren't worth the 20 something dollars listed. I actually had a better meal after at Mcdonalds:( The drinks however were really great. I started with a hurricane and ended with a few mojitos (very refreshing). I would have to say the ambiance was nice, the wait staff was very attentive, but the taste of the food needs to be taken up about 10 notches. Word of advice, check out online who's peforming before going. Also don't get offended when the bartender reminds you at the time you're handed your tab to tip :(
