Bobby Jones GC is finally back!! – Best bang for your buck. This course was in bad shape from some horrible weather, but is now in great shape. They have the best greens that I have played on in the Atlanta area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some challenging holes, yet a great place to put up a good score. This is an excellent course to kill some time in the afternoons with their great twilight and supertwilight rates. I recommend checking out the improved conditions of this course, especially since the rates are so reasonable. Definitely not Augusta, but a pretty good city course.

Worst Value in Atlanta – There are plenty of comparably priced (and cheaper) courses in Atlanta that are kept in MUCH better shape (Charlie Yates, John A White, etc). Couldn't tell a difference between the fairway and rough on most of the holes. The greens are brown, not green. I should have worn my work boots - I couldn't understand why there was so much mud even though it hadn't rained in days. They booked so many tee times that we had to wait at least 10 minutes before teeing up at each hole. I am convinced that the only reason people still play this course is because it's in a nice neighborhood. If it was located in similar neighborhoods to those of Yates or Wood, it would go out of business.

In summary, a complete sh*t hole and I would only consider playing again if the greens fees were around $10.

Fancy greens, cheap rates, walking-friendly: Bobby Jones – In Short

Closer to Caddyshack than something Bobby Jones was truly associated with (Masters, East Lake), this course needs to exchange its far-sighted barber for a stylist. On many holes, the fairway blends with a forgiving rough, leading to a "grip it and rip it" mentality which rarely punishes a wayward tee shot. (Read: “four” is yelled a lot.) A slick new strand of Champion Bermuda make the greens surprisingly quick in comparison to the rest of the conditions, and gives the course an edge over most of Atlanta’s in-town public tracks. Short, wide-open holes are fun for the cocky hacker and even golf purists can appreciate the old-school, (1932) walkable design. Don’t expect quick weekend rounds, as the public track is loaded with high-handicappers who enjoy beer drinking as much as the game itself. But a non-pretentious, walking friendly course at a decent price ($30ish for Atlanta residents) is hard to come by, and this option is as good as any.

Pretty good course for the $$ – I had a great time playing this course and would recommend it for the price. It is a little further away than other courses, but is fine for a change of pace

Short, forgiving course for the budget-minded golfer is a convenient option for in-towners. – Overview
This course needs to exchange its far-sighted barber for a stylist. On many holes, the fairway blends with a forgiving rough, leading to a "grip it and rip it" mentality which rarely punishes a wayward tee shot. Precise putting proves difficult on the shaggy greens, where a short iron can seem more fitting. However, these short and wide-open holes may lull the cocky hacker to tempt fate with one of the few water hazards.

The Draw
Atlanta's own golf legend and the course's namesake, Bobby Jones, played the course once. During Sherman's march, part of the Battle of Peachtree Creek was fought where the golf course now lies. It's one of four city-owned courses in town. Number nine opens with a blind tee shot over trees and water to a fairway situated well below the scenic tee-box--making for a great view of the Atlanta skyline.

Dog Track – Terrible course conditions, poor layout, no amenities, unattentive staff. But it is not expensive.

OK, NOT top 10 though.... – This course has tremendous potential, however, the upkeep of the course has a lot to be desired and the pace of place is always terrible

Worst course in Atlanta – This course should not even be mentioned. Worst course ever. Bad green, you might as well use pitching wedge on the green. Course is so tight together I almost got hit by golf balls several times in one day. Staffs are rude. Will never play there again.
