Beautiful wedding gowns – As a brides maid we all know the finding a dress process can be quite a hassle. We tried quite a few places but finally found something good at Kelly's Closet. My BFF looked beautiful on her big day!! If you are getting married, at least give this place a look. It's certainly worth it.
Not what I had hoped it would be – I was excited to visit this place with my daughter when I took her wedding gown shopping and was so disappointed when we got there. The staff was very friendly but the gowns were odd to say the least. I think if your looking for something way off the beaten path in wedding apparel this is probably your store. We were looking for more traditional so it was a little odd for us.
The one thing that struck me was the lack of quality in the dresses for the prices. I have worked with wedding gowns for years so I know that should be there and what shouldn't. The construction of these gowns was so lacking. My daughter sort of liked one dress that was $2.700 and I was shocked that it had not stays or support at all built into it. At that price there should be some internal construction to the dress.
A well made wedding gown will come complete with its own inner construction so that multiple under garments are not necessary. These dresses had none, I was shocked.
Bottom line, if your looking for a dress that is so very different then you will love this store. If your wanting quality and tradition then you will need to go somewhere else.
Great Experience – We went to Kelly's Closet for my daughter's first time to try on wedding dresses. We were the first appointment and were welcomed with bright smiles by several of the sales girls. Our consultant, Laurie, sat down with us and got the details of the wedding, i.e. venue, dates, etc. She invited us to select dresses that caught our eye and she'd suggest a few too. My daughter tried on 7 or 8 gowns and liked 4, but each one had a little something that she would like to change. Laurie was helpful in letting us see how the gown would look with the changes. We had four other appointments that day after Kelly's so my daughter wanted to see what else was out there. Laurie wished is luck and said that she would check back with us in a couple of weeks to see if we found anything. We went to the other four appointments, but the service and attention we felt at Kelly's had made our expectations so high that the experience for the rest of the day was disappointing. We went to the larger "Kleinfeld's" type stores (which was impressive, but you knew they had to have a huge mark-up on their dresses to pay for the plush) and also small boutiques but none compared to Kelly's Closet. After the last appointment, my daughter said "I really want to go back to Kelly's". I called and even though we would only have 30 minutes before they were to close, they invited us to come back. When we got there, Laurie had the four dresses in the dressing room and was ready for us! She never rushed us, due to closing time, and apologized for the bad experiences we had at other salons! When my daughter put on the "one" she yelled...this is it!!! Thank you Kelly's Closet for making my only child's wedding dress shopping so much fun!!! Oh, and I love the cute area your shop is in...enjoyed coffee at the Tea Room before our appointment.
Great Wedding Dress Experience – I went to Kelly's closet in April of 2007. I went in with an appointment, but there was a "bridezilla" in there needing everyone's opinion and attention. Kelly told me to look around and grab a few things off the shelves to try on. I saw the perfect dress, tried it on, bought it within 20 minutes and left. I am not the type of person that wants to be fussed over or has to be admired, so this experience was perfect for me. The only thing is that we paid a lot of money for my dress and when I was putting it on to get married, two beads fell off and by the end of the night, one strap had broken. They did have an awesome selection of dresses, pricy but awesome.
interesting selection, good quality – I went to Kelly's Closet on recommendation of a friend. The dresses are different from what you will find at many other more "typical" bridal salons. Unfortunately, they did not have much selection in the type of dress I was looking for - very simple, very elegant, diaphanous. The consultant I worked with was friendly but didn't strike me as being very knowledgeable. Overall, however, it was a good experience.
Friendly Faces, Beautiful Clothes – I have visited Kelly's Closet ever since it first opened. The relaxed atmosphere, uncluttered racks, and unique clothes always drew me in. Even my husband likes to shop there! After many years of visiting the boutique, it was the first place I went to try on wedding gowns. The beautiful selection and personal attention I received from the bridal consultants made me want to buy my gown there. While I did visit another shop in town, the experience did not compare. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a couture gown, you want to feel taken care of, not just another customer being shuffled in and out. At Kelly's Closet I felt the consultants were really trying to understand me and the kind of bride I wanted to be. They took time thinking through the options and what made me feel good, not just what made me look good. In the end, I got both. I wouldn't send a friend anywhere else!
designer boutique, designer clothes, beautiful clothes, great customer service, – Hi. I have been a Kelly's Closet faithful fan for years. I started as a boutique shopper and then bought my wedding dress there. The bridal is hands-down, best-in-town amazing but the boutique is my favorite. If you want to find things that are beautiful, individualistic and creative, visit this shop! You will find things that you can't find anywhere else in the city. Kelly has an amazing eye for fashion! Almost anytime I wear something that I bought at Kelly's, I get TONS of complements.
As for the customer service, the closeteers are amazing. The lovely people at Kelly's and Kelly herself are unbelievable knowledgeable, discerning and warm. They go above and beyond to help you find the things that are right for you.
It is my favorite place to shop.
worth every penny – Kellys's Closet was my first stop as I shopped for wedding gowns. They defintely exceeded my expectations. The service was amazing (SO MUCH FUN), the selection is unique, and the whole experience was intimate and personal. They took the time to ask questions and get to know me as well as my likes and dislikes. Although I did find my dress at Kelly's Closet, I felt like they would have welcomed me with open arms even if I went another direction. I didn't find the prices to be to abnormal when compared to other couture designers in the wedding industry, but if you expect lower prices because it is a small shop, you will be surprised. That said, if you find your gown there you will be willing to pay every penny because they are all unlike any other gowns in the Atlanta area and the service is impeccable from start to finish (alterations, perservation of gown, etc).
Not your typical bridal shop experience – Kelly?s Closet was recommended to me by a friend, and I suspect that a great deal of their business comes from the recommendations of happy customers. This was the only bridal salon I visited in my dress search where I didn?t feel pressured or rushed in any way. There is a actually a sign in the dressing area insisting that the word FAT must not be spoken here ? the attitude is finding a dress that suits you (in body and personality), rather than forcing yourself into a bride stereotype. Accordingly, there are a great variety of styles that deviate from the strapless princess numbers which swamp every other store. All the salespeople I encountered were helpful and courteous, Kelly herself (a fabulous person) was present a great deal of the time, friends were welcome to join my fittings, and everything was amazingly relaxed and low-key. I was even encouraged to try on dresses I had no interest in (high couture can get a little weird) just for the fun of it!
The downside: You get what you pay for. A salon that deals only with designers and not knockoffs is pricey. Here, the low end is $2k, and there isn?t much selection unless you get at least up to 3. Don?t even walk in the store unless you can afford that, because you will fall in love with a dress and never be happy with anything afterwards. I was thrilled with my dress, but I will say that I spent more that I had originally planned. Do New Natalie?s and the like first, because they will make you appreciate Kelly?s that much more.
Great dresses, just don't ask for Danielle!!!! – I was looking for a shorter dress for my wedding. The saleswomen suggested that I try on some dresses from the boutique and the bridesmaids dresses that would also work as wedding gowns. I guess that Danielle thought that since I was trying on the dresses that were under their average $2,000-7,000 price-point, that I was cheap as well! After trying on a couple of horrible dresses that she suggested that didn't work for me at ALL, she made the snotty comment "Well, I don't think the other dresses in the store will work for you, because they're in the $2,000 and up range, and that's not what we want to spend. Is it?"
Buying your wedding gown should make you feel good about yourself!
-NOT make you feel like Julia Roberts on Rodeo Drive in the movie Pretty Woman!!!!
