Great Service – Rarely do you find a business these days where the owner answers the phone, opens the door, responds to your emails and even rings the cash register. Outback Bikes has brought a taste of Lil 5 Points Outside the Perimeter- all the way to Dacula, GA with the owner, Pete armed with an arsenal of Bianchi and Specialized Bikes in his stable.

My wife and I visited his store a few weekends ago in search of a road bike for her. I was looking for Specialized Dealers in the Gwinnett area and was pleasantly surprised to find that Outback had set up shop not far from my house. I picked them because I was familiar with their lil 5 location.

I was happy with the experience because they provided great service and they are extremely knowledgeable about what they sell. If there wasn't something on the shelf, Pete offered to have it delivered from his other location downtown. He also responded to all of my inquisitive emails.

Based on the entire experience, from my first email to swiping my credit card- I found it easy to trust this Bike Dealer because he offered a great deal, great price, excellent technical information about the bike, it's fit, other products and the bike industry. You can tell he has a passion for bikes and wants to help others find theirs.

If you are shopping for a bike, make sure to call or visit either of these locations first before making a purchase.

Their new location:

2463 Hamilton Mill Pkwy. Suite 230

Dacula GA 30019

*We also visited the lil' 5 shop and were helped out by a very knowledgeable staffer named Amber. She was very helpful and knew her bike stuff. She was not pushy and did not make us feel like the dorky suburbanites we are. They also have a ton of bike inventory and accessories to choose from.

Best Bike shop in Atlanta 2007 – I have found this shop to be the best shop in the atlanta area. The selection of bikes and bike related stuff is great. The staff is well trained and friendly. I purchased my first bike there in 1987 and many more since with no problems. They also sponsor numerous teams and many worthy causes. The shop has been voted best bike shop in atlanta for many years. Stop by there and form your own opinions. Recently I stopped by and noticed that the shop has an awesome selection of new bikes prices starting as low as 300 dollars. They have more fixed gear and single speed selection than any other shop. If you want the best service and selection see the crew at Outback.

nice bikes, staffed by real cyclists – Well, its been 2 years since I wrote my first review of this shop, and that (mostly negative) review was plastered on the front of their citysearch page for two years, as well as one of their top Google results. But this shop has made some major improvements in their customer service and overall friendliness. I see on a regular basis the folks that work here reaching out to connect and help out with every cyclist that walks in. They have made big-time improvements to their parts-ordering process as well.

This shop gets a 5-star rating from me because they rock at the most important aspects of being a bike shop: they have great bikes, they have friendly and knowledgeable staff, they are extremely active in supporting all aspects of the cycling community, and they have good mechanics.

For the cycling buffs out there, you can expect to find a wide range of mountain and road bikes (mostly specialized and bianchi) and these guys also offer a pretty decent selection of commuters and track bikes.

popular doesn't mean good – Every time I walk out of Outback Bikes, I swear I'll never go back. But I give them the benefit of the doubt, and I go back. Only to be disappointed again. The staff ruins this potentially great shop. They don't understand the meaning of, "No thanks, I'm just looking." And when they're not overbearing, they're flat out rude.
