TERRIBLE FOOD and OVERPRICED – Way overpriced, rediculous portions, terrible food, poor service. Go anywhere else and get a better meal at a third of the price. The prices are absurd. I would never throw my money out like this again.
PLEASE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS AND SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME – I agree with the other reviews and I wish I would have read them before I decide to go to Eno's. Listen to the reviews I just visted Eno's last weekend and the food was marginal at best and WAY overpriced. The service was slow and they do think there are pretty special. My wife and I left this place and went out to a bar to get some food because we where starving. The portions where rediculous. I left there feeling like I was just robbed.
Worst service in Atlanta – If I could give this place 0 stars I would. A co-worker of mine ventured over to this shabby establishment recently in hopes of using a gift card, which had been presented to him last year at our holiday party (held at Eno) when a waiter spilled an entire glass of red wine on his shirt, and then failed to apologize. The new owner/management of this restaurant refused to honor the gift card ($50 mind you. Really? They're that hard pressed for funds?) stating that they wouldnt take on the previous owner's debt, and after an argument threatened to throw my co-workers out. Poor treatment + Poor Service + Your standard quasi-trendy restaurant with crappy food = imminent failure. Just read the recent reviews. No one from our firm will return here, and we suggest all others to boycott as well.
This place is seriously terrible & overhyped – This place was terribly dissapointing and didnt even qualify as mediocre. I was excited to go there due to the chef being on Top Chef. I have literally never written a restaurant review but this place was so awful that for the first time in my life i felt compelled to. The porkchop was undercooked and 100% fat - you couldnt even cut it or eat it. The service was awful as well as we sat for 20 minutes with empty wine glasses. To top it off I felt like i had been robbed because it was such an expensive and horrible meal. I beg you please do not go here!
Pretentious and overpriced – Being new to town, my hubby and I just wandered up the street from our apartment to grab something to eat last weekend. We stumbled upon a mostly empty Mediterranian restaurant, with a inseresting sounding menu and went for it. Service really wasn't that prompt for a empty establishment. Food was very "iffy" In my opinon a chef needs to master the basics before going all out. Evil Kanevil didn't go straight for the grand canyon right off the bat... And he sure couldn't charge ubsurd prices if he crashed and burned!
This place needs to really focus on the basics before we wander back in the doors.
Not worth the visit – I have visited this restaurant several times to eat dessert and buy fine wines from their cellar. My boyfriend and I have always wanted to try their restaurant and finally we decided to go before a show at the Fox theatre one night. Disappointed isn't even a strong enough word for how upset we were when we left. The hostess was unpleasant from the moment we walked in the door. We sat with empty glasses for more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server which we never were even though several walked by our table. Finally the front house manager came over and took our drink orders. He was the same person that took our food orders and brought everything to us. They completely forgot to bring our appetizer. The food was overpriced and not good at all. Then we waited another 10 minutes for our check. When my boyfriend went to get the general manager to request the check, finally a server, who we never saw during our entire meal brought our check. She was rude and not apologetic at all. In fact, no one ever apologized for the delays even though they knew we were on a tight schedule to get to the theatre. And this is a restaurant that caters to the theatre going cliental. We were extremely upset when we left. We have eaten at a great deal of restaurants in Atlanta, but we have never had such a bad experience as we did at Eno. We will never recommend this restaurant to anyone we know. I am even willing to say we will never buy another bottle of wine from their store again based on our recent experience.
Superb – We live in the same neighborhood as ENO and have visited at least three times. Each visit was excellent - the selection of Spanish wines is one of the best in the city. We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at ENO one week ago with over 40 guests. The food was excellent; both the vegetarian and meat options were good from appetizers though the dessert. The staff could not have been more helpful and treated each and every one of our guests as a VIP. The GM went the extra mile and even offered to match flowers on the table to the wedding flowers for the weekend. Our guests commented that it was one of the nicest group dinners they'd attended. We will definitely continue to visit ENO.
Horribly shocking experience. – We chose Eno to celebrate my birthday last night. We started the evening off with a bottle of Rose Champagne and enjoyed it at the bar. We also ordered a glass each for our first course. Knowing they specialize in wine service, we brought a special bottle of wine to celebrate. The treatment we received was shocking. Not only did the waiter claim there were no red wine glasses--he pointed out that the owner was using them for a private party in the wine room. No red wine glasses at a restaurant claiming to focus on wine? What we received was something resembling a Riesling glass. From that point on the waiter refused to pour our wine. When we brought this to the attention of the General Manager, he became confrontational stating we received adequate stemware and refused to waive our corkage fee on a $500 tab. To top it off they added a gratuity of 20%. They could have handled this differently. Instead it ruined our evening. We'll never grace their door again.
Poor food, worse service – PASTA should be HOT people, not lukewarm. And staff?, lose the attitude, sorry if you think you are above waiting on my & my Mom, but YOU choose to be a waiter and we both were waitresses and wouldn't have dreamed of treating customers the way we were treated. First, we were seated very promptly..good. About 20 minutes goes by. Nada.. FINALLY our waiter shows up and pretty much let us know he wasn't interested in waiting on us. Swell. We each ordered cappellini & shrimp, and iced tea. Waiter disappears. Waited for about 45 minutes, dishes & drinks finally come out. Waiter plunks them down in front of us and strolls away. It was immediately apparent that the plates had sat for some time..the pasta was lukewarm and starting to dry at the very edges. Waiter saunters back about 40 minutes later, puts the check on the table, and stands there. Um, ok. We pay the bill...with EXACT change I might add. Still peeved about our experience with this place and its been 3 months. NEVER again.
Still Atlanta's Best & Original Dining Wine Bar! Quality Wine Selection & Tapas! – Almost everywhere you turn in Atlanta, there is a new wine/tapas bar. The local chain of McGrape, is a good place for beginners and tourists. But for the more sophisticated palate, Eno is where it's at. Several years ago, when we first started going, it was just a small wine bar, with a great selection. And Midtown has grown, and Eno has evolved into the premiere Wine/Tapas destination. Expenisve, yes! Unique, yes! It's not for everyone, but for us Atlantan's who have matured also, it is still the place. Candlelit and cozy, artwork by Timothy Tew Galleries, and outside tables to watch the Midtown Mile. The Mediterranean Tapas menu, with suggested wine pairings, is upscale and unique. We usually just stick with the small plates. A good start is the Pan Seared Foie Gras w/Brioche French Toast. Another favorite is the Five Spice Braised Beef Short Ribs w/Orange Glazed Carrots. Also love the Housemade Lamb Sausage w/Granny Smith Risotto. Desert menu sounds great, but usually we stick with a cheeseplate selection, from the Barrelman next door. Service can be a bit snobbish at times, but after a few glasses of wine, who cares with Tapas and drink of this calibre.
