An Unforgettable Experience With No Regrets – Thankfully, a stylist named Will over exceeded my expectations. At first, I was skeptical. I have had some horrifying salon experiences in the past. I am excited to report that I was greeted with a smile and a cold drink, along with a cordial staff and clients. Will took my natural hair, which is an extremely curly texture and straightened my hair to perfection. Other clients commented on his ability to get my hair so straight. After the straightening process, he made sure we had a clear understanding about the type of haircut that would be best for me. "WOW" I actually got what I paid for and it was worth every penny. He also introduced me to some new natural products. My hair felt as good as it looked. As a client and a stylist, I know how rare it is to find a stylist that takes pride in their work. I enjoyed my experience at Ambrosia Salon. It felt GREAT to receive the same quality service I give to my clients.
A special thank you to the staff at Ambrosia Salon for being so accommodating and I look forward to my next visit.
Great Locks of Love Experience – My daughter who is fourteen had the privalage of donating 14 inches of hair for Locks of Love and getting a great haircut that put a joyful smile on her face. The lady who cut her hair did exactly what my daughter reguested within the limits of her hair type and style she wanted. She generously and happily gave an hour and a half of her time for a cause that she genuinely cared about. She was very respectful and courteous to my child and was as delighted as we were with the final results. More important than the cut was the general old fashioned southern charm and gentility the entire atmosphere of the shop had. They really cared about their customers. Yes parking is tight so get there early but it is worth any inconvenince to be treated with the kind and more than willing to give the customer good service. That was universal attitude throughout the shop and we are looking forward to maintaining the cut there in the future.
Great salon experience from start to finish – I've been going to Mary and Ambrosia for over three years now as I have always enjoyed the experience I receive while there. It starts with being asked what type of drink I want upon arrival and finishes with a new haircut that is just what I am looking for. One nice thing I really like about Ambrosia is the camraderie between the staff. They seem to really enjoy what they do and at least from my opinion it shows. After about a year of just me, my wife started going there and she gets the full treatment of coloring, cut, etc. She always looks great. I don't live in Underwood Hills anymore but still travel over to Howell Mill to get trimmed up. Its worth it for me. I highly recommend anyone to try out the Ambrosia crew.
Locks Lost – I chose to have my hair cut at Ambrosia because they do so many haircuts for Locks of Love. I wanted to donate my hair to be made into a wig for a child that had lost hair to cancer but was very nervous about having 10 inches of hair cut off! I was please with the way the 10 inches came off but was not pleased with what happened after. I ask the stylist to cut off as little hair as possible but still give me a little style and shape. I was hoping not to loose more than 1-2 more inches and instead she took 4-6 inches. I have never had a worst haircut or been more unhappy with how my hair looks. All I can do is hope it grows back fast! I would actually recommend them if you want to donate your hair to Lock of Love but then I?d get out of the chair before they take all you have and run to your normal stylist!!
Cute but terrible location and parking – I agree..overpriced for the talent there. You might also want to check them out on Kudzu....wish I had before I went. Disappointed...save your $$ and find a real salon that actually provides parking for their customers. Mimi
Expensive and Not Worth It – First, if you can get through the horrendous traffic on Howell Mill Road and find a place to park on Ridgeway to make your appointment on time, you are lucky. Although the staff is friendly and welcoming, this salon is way overpriced for their services. I had my hair colored and highlighted and it was a ridiculous price. It would have been nice to have been informed that it would cost this much before the service was performed. Instead I was given a ballpark figure over the phone that was not close to what I was presented with when I left. Very disappointing...and I walked out feeling taken advantage of and dissatisfied with the service. They will not be in business very long with this type of customer service.
Sweet Ambrosia – I stopped by Ambrosia because they are one of the few salons in Atlanta that works with the Locks of Love organization and I wanted to donate my hair to be made into a wig for a child that had lost hair to cancer. I was nervous about having 10 inches of hair cut off. But, from the first minute I walked into the salon, I was greeted by several members of the staff and I felt like I had been a client there forever. They completely put me at ease. I chose Christine to cut my hair and although she was completely booked on the day I wanted an appointment, she managed to fit me into her schedule. So, on that day, I arrived about 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment and she was able to take me immediately. It was great not to have to wait! Also, all of the staff members that had met me the week before remembered me and greeted me warmly. Christine gave me a great shampoo and head massage followed by an excellent hair cut. She spent almost two hours on me and it was the night before a holiday!! If you want unparalleled personal attention and an amazing hair cut, go to Ambrosia. I won't even consider getting my hair cut anywhere else from now on!!
cute haircut but avoid getting your hair colored here – paid for full highlights, a touchup on my roots, and a hair cut. Highlights were too light and it is obvious that the stylist skipped chunks of my hair underneath - now when I put my hair up in a ponytail, it is too dark underneath and too light on top. I called to speak with the hairstylist the next day and she never returned my call. Hair cut was cute but not worth the price.
