Pretty Nice Place (mean old lady) – Yesterday I visited nuts and berries for the first time and i must say that it is pretty well put together. they have a wonderful assortment of vitamins but are somewhat lacking in the food area. I was very pleased to somehow find this place as i am new to GA and don't know many health food stores. there was, however, a really bitchy lady with a hat who was going around complaining to all of the customers about how they didn't have the herbs she wanted and how there was no clean scoops because she had food allergies. kinda upset me a little bit, but other than that i was pretty happy with it. so, if you go in there and see a greasy-faced lady with a hat, just walk out. she was saying she was a frequent customer.
1st Experience at Nuts and Berries – Today was the first time I shopped at Nuts and Berries and I am not in a hurry to go back. I bought 3 different items. Two of these items were close to the price I expected. However, I also bought some Ginger Soda. Each bottle was $1.79 which seemed pretty high to me. However, I wasn't sure I would be going to another food store today, so I bought two bottles. I did end up going to another food store at which I found a four pack of the exact same Ginger Soda sold for $3.69. So, I paid about the same amount for 2 bottles of Ginger Soda at Nuts and Berries that I would have paid for 4 bottles of the same exact soda at the other store. I feel ripped off and cheated out of money (which in this economy hurts). What a poor first impression! So, it is doubtful I would go back.
Has drawbacks, but Pagee is AWESOME – I don't often stop in at Nuts N Berries because they charge a lot more for their products than other stores. Also, they are often out of stock on the items I use most. I wish Nuts N Berries would realize that other health food stores that discount their items a little bit make up for the lower price by the sheer volume of sales that they generate. It also gives customers an incentive to return there for the lower prices. I also wish Nuts N Berries would turn on the air-conditioning in the summer.
I decided to stop in at Nuts N Berries after work last week to pick up one thing. There is a new employee there, an older woman. I didn't catch her name, but heard the manager call her "Pagee". She was extremely helpful in coaching me on how to control my hot flashes and getting me "regular." The products she suggested helped right away.
Pagee is not the type of person to sugar-coat what she tells you - she tends to be more blunt. However, she herself has been cancer free for decades and has learned to get right to the point. I love her style and her coaching!
The other employees are also helpful - Brittany and April. They are young, but they also know a lot.
I suspect the previous review was written by a former or disgruntled employee. Juanita no longer works at Nuts N Berries, but she was always very nice and helpful when I stopped in. Also products were always on the shelf when she was managing the store. She will definitely be missed! The new manager has some big shoes to fill, but I'm sure she will once she gets used to what the customers need.
Juanita has ruined this store by hiring idiots – Went in, tried to get help. the "manager" bess in the back rolled her eyes when I tried to get help and it looked like she would rather be on facebook than assist me in buying items from the store. and the girl employees, specifically the one with the glasses, April, would rather just talk and gossip then help customers. I know her name, because they were talking so damn loud
First off, I rather go to Krogers or a Rite Aide to buy my vitamins, due to the fact their employees would possibly know MORE about what they are selling than in Nuts n Berries. The manager would rather be on facebook in the back, while the young employees would stand around and talk. It was uncalled for, especially after I was patiently standing there waiting for answers to my questions about the vitamins I wanted to buy. Instead of buying the items, I ended up waiting 15mins for a employee to help me... while he stepped in the back of the store, I saw a roach crawl in between the shelves. I waited till the employee came back and nicely thanked him and walked out without purchasing any of the over priced items. Honestly, I would never advise anyone to go into this store..... years ago when I heard about the store, I only heard good things. When comparing my experience to my coworkers they agreed and one told me she found hair in her lunch from the bistro! Don't waste your precious time.
Wow, Nuts 'N Berries is Back!!! – Just recently I went to Nuts 'n Berries to get those Shape-up shoes that I saw advertized in the paper. I was so excited to get them to help me firm up my bum. To my dismay they did not have my size so one of the girls special ordered my size for me. Within about 3 days they called me and I ran straight there to get my shoes. I love my shoes and I love that store. The customer service was so helpful and sweet to me. Nuts 'n Berries is my new favorite store again.
Great food, fast service, cozy wi-fi cafe – Wow! Have you eaten in the cafe recently? It's being run by a new chef and the soups there are INCREDIBLE!! Had the three-green soup today and had Grandma's Chicken Soup last week. Really tasty and well crafted foods. The chef is keeping the vegetarian and vegan menus and adding some organic chicken dishes, like the chicken curry and turkey chili, which blew my mind! The dining room looks totally different, painted, art all over the walls. Very cozy place!!
Terrible Customer Service – I agree completely with the person who posted way back in May of 2007 - and that was 9 months ago. The service at Nuts N' Berries has become pathetic. I placed a special order costing over $100 with them, and they a) either didn't leave a message or didn't call at all to let me know when it had come in to the store, b) the manager was unapologetic and simply said they called but left no message, c) they couldn't even tell me the correct retail price for even one bottle of the product (much less the discounted price for the 20 bottles I special ordered), and d) they didn't say thanks for the business or anything else for that matter after I finally paid them what they said I was supposed to pay. I have been to this store several times in the past and like the variety of products they carry. I just hope the owner replaces some of this poor staff before they cause the store to go out of business.
What's happened? – The city's best health food store has suddenly gone stale in the past few months. Product availability is sporadic, and the help is surly and sarcastic. Used to be the best place to go to learn about how to maintain good health. Now, you're lucky to get someone to show you where to find things and ring up your sale. Certainly this has hurt sales with the availability of products on the Internet. Isn't the owner paying attention?

Delicious stop for groceries – I try to eat here at least once a week. Tofu salad or Hummus wrap by Fati is a MUST! Fati is a doll and is there all the time. Juice selections from Ardens Garden, fresh smoothies and organic products. All you vegans or veggie lovers need to check this place out!
