They have you commected if you dis agree – This place is so bad they force drugs on you the guy in the video looks like he is 60 years old he was a great guy until they screwed him up on drugs. He is back on the spice as far as I heard. The time I spent there was the worst do not ever send any one there.

ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY – As a former "client" I agree with 98% of what this person wrote. The turn over is high and the majority of the staff don't give a rats ass about you.

My 3 month stay ended with one of their counselors upsetting me, twisting my words against me and having me committed against my families wishes. They were specially told by a family member not to send me anywhere and that my family said they would sign what ever documents necessary saying they are taking full responsibility for me. As a member of my family raced to come and get me from their facility the staff member rushed paper work for my forced commitment. They got there just in time to see me being put into the back of an ambulance in restraints.

Three months, three different counselors (they each left one right after the other), one terrible case of trust issues that weren't there before.

FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Do NOT go here or send loved ones here under ANY circumstances unless you want them re-traumatized. – I'm going to preface this review with a disclaimer: one of the biggest - if not THE biggest - problems with mental health treatment in the U.S. is that simply being labeled "mentally ill" automatically throws everything you say and do under suspicion. The mentally ill are not stupid; many of us are quite lucid and brilliant, but the reasons why treatment never improves is because the people in the best position to point out the flaws - the mentally ill - are too often written off as being liars and exaggerators. Therefore, I understand that there might be people who will say that I'm making this stuff up, but I wasn't the only one at Skyland Trail who witnessed what was going on, and I do still keep in contact with several people I was there with who can validate everything that I say.

Simply put, Skyland Trail is a mill. It is an expensive babysitting service for those declared "mentally ill" who have trust funds or really good insurance. Nothing actually goes into trying to help the clients, and ANYONE who says that Skyland Trail "helped" them was helped DESPITE being there, not BECAUSE of it. The staff turnover is so high that people didn't bother putting nameplates on their office doors. The staff at the South Residence were known to sleep during the night in the patient lounges, and often used the money that was supposed to be spent on patients for their own personal purchases. They didn't want to make two trips to places sometimes, so we sat on the floor of the van. There's not one aspect of this environment that was safe or stable - ESSENTIAL for recovery and healing.

If you go to the website, the first thing you'll notice is their blatant placement of links - one for "admissions" and one for "donating." This should clue you in right there that they are way more interested in money than actually treating people. Though I've asked to be taken off the mailing list, my family still keeps getting mail from Skyland Trail asking for donations.
