Best Italian in Atlanta – Try not to fill up on the generous amounts of garlic bread and antipasti they start you off on. Everything here is excellent, from the appetizers (escargot is excellent) and pastas to the veal, chicken, and seafood dishes, to the filet mignon. They have a good wine list, but the house wines are all pretty palatable and cheap. AMAZING service and dark, cozy atmosphere.

Consistently Good – Alfredo's is consistently good. Some might not care for the decor but its actually very cozy - in a "take me back a few decades" sort of way.

Get Me Outta this Place – Overpriced. Bad food. Overbearing waiter. NOT authentic italian.

Went there on New Years Eve--didn't know it was some sort of special occasion there.

Close your eyes and picture this: dimly lit place. old couples. fur coats. poofy bangs. stuffy feeling. aquarium behind bar. hasn't changed one iota since 1983....Sounds cool, right?

But not so cool. Culinary letdown.

After you are finally seated (long lines) you get a small plate full of soggy vegetables that have been resting in water for probably about a week. The garlic bread that people say is soooooooo good, is just garlic bread, with a lot of garlic and butter. nothing impressive.

The sweaty waiter makes jokes...more jokes....go away please...his father owns the place....

I order my food. I look across at the grim lady preparing the checks in the doorless office filled with pictures of washed up celebrities who must come prepared with an autographed headshot of themselves at every restaurant they come to.

I get my food, goat cheese ravioli. sitting in-- tomato water. Yumm. I mean, ITS BAD. I was really hungry and couldn't down this shit...it tasted legitimately bad. and i love pasta. and i love goat cheese. and i love tomatos.

I was hoping that this place was at least authentic...like authentic italian food with a cheesy atmosphere. But its not authentic at all. Yes the owners are Italian, no they can't cook. its for people who "just loooooove this place" and so they bring the whole family along, but they never stop and question whether its really that good. Which it just isn't.

I just wanted to get out of there by the end. out out out...BUT I couldn't bc I first had to pay 20 dollars...SERIOUSLY THE MOST OVERPRICED BAD FOOD I"VE EVER EATEN

Awesome!!! – The person below, you obviously don't know what good food and service is. I guess you think of Olive Garden is authentic italian food. This place has been here this long because they are in fact fantastic! If you want something fast and quick, then I suggest going to Fazolis. Or maybe stay home and cook a can of Chef Boy'ardee. This place doesn't rush you, as me and my family like. They wine and dine you. It's the food, the experience, and the atomosphere that makes this place wonderful!

Tony Soprano Lives! – I love this place if only for the scenery; truly like being an extra on the set of The Sopranos...."woke up this morning, got myself a gun."

The decor is a hoot and probably original to the 1950s, as are some of the patrons. Not a window in the place - perhaps it's the casino "they'll spend more if they can't tell what time it is" theory or maybe it's to keep you from escaping once they've realized you're behind on your payments on that loan you took out from the owner to pay your gambling debts.

I tell ya, the naugahyde on these booths has seen more action than Lindsay Lohan and you'd swear Frank Sinatra was singing in the lounge instead of just playing through the 30-year-old speakers.

Oh, and the food, right, the food - it's delicious and authentic (although my Italian mama disagreed, but she doesn't like anything, so take it with a grain of Parmesan). The mussles are amazing and I seriously wanted to drink the juice they were swimming in directly from a wine glass - it was THAT good.

Your waiter is bound to be named Luigi or Mario - just roll with it and enjoy the most excellent pizon watching this side of the Atlantic. Hey is that guy getting rubbed out in the corner? Ciao bella!

Honestly, could I throw in one more Italian stereoptype? I can, cuz I am.

Surviving on regulars and neighorhood – I have to agree with the last 2 rewiews. Was told by a fellow employee that alot of there food indeed comes out of a can. Also a long time waiter cursed at us in latino, being ignorant to the fact that we undersood what he was saying. I could go on and on, so lets just say we will not be back.

What Happened? – Use to be great... goin down hill fast...We miss Mikey the bar keep. It seems like they do not care about customer service anymore. Waitstaff needs to be more professional. Something just doesn't seem right.

Average at best – The service was great, the ambiance was comfortable and cozy, but the food was average. Would I go back there, yes, if I had to, but it would not be my first choice. Some of the food seemed to be prepared fresh and others seemed to have been dumped out of a can with little preparation.

Just the best. – We drivie 100 miles from Macon to have dinner here with owner Perry Alvarez, 2nd in command Filipe, and Tony (our 'own' waiter) for about six years now dozens of times give or take a few. We are those regular customers others like to complain about. SORRY guys. It's great - so get in line - right behind us : )

We fell in love with Alfredos first time we went... just as they opened at 5PM... one of the waiters was in the process of blessing the building with a frying pan sizzeling with olive oll & garlic as he walked it throughout the entire restaurant in the form of a cross.

We give the pickeled vinegar hors d'oeuvres & hot garlic bread a well-deserved two thumbs up. Love the Cesar salad: just the right amt of seasoning. The Veal Francese is my favorite and my wife orders sea bass with champagne sause, Veal Marsala, or Veal Parmesan - THE BEST VEAL ON PLANET EARTH - one person's opinion. The house red & white wines are all we ever order - great. The simple black coffee after the meal is the best coffee I ever have and it goes great with a world-class Alfredos home-made cannoli. We spend, on average, about $70. And we don't have to compete with the pony-tailed Porsche and Bentley crowd - THANK GOD - who care more about $300 bottles of wine and chrome and glass mirrors than they do about fabulous food & service at decent prices (that never seem to change).

We also like the fact that this magical restaurant frequently seats 5 generations of a single family while young lovers at a booth on the back wall enjoy the ambiance of the romantic room and a frequent opera or Frank Sinatra tune on the sound system.
